Chapter 194: Evidence

Chapter 194: Evidence

Griffin's POV

"With this." I pulled out the tablet I'd prepared earlier and opened an audio recording. It was a simulated conversation between Chloe and Joseph, clearly documenting how they'd plotted to frame Dwayne and pin it on me.

"What's this?" Trevor's face changed dramatically as he listened in shock.

I looked at him. "Why didn't I explain?" I asked back. "Even if I had explained, would you have believed me? The Fisher family was convinced I was the killer, and with Chloe stirring things up, anything I said would've just sounded like excuses. Better to admit it and investigate quietly for evidence. After all, evidence doesn't lie."

Valentin stayed silent, his fingers clenched so tight his knuckles turned white.

Trevor still had doubts. "Don't think I don't know—Chloe is your childhood friend, and she cut ties with Joseph a long time ago. She even works at your company. Why would she frame you?"

I smiled and opened another file showing communication records between Chloe and Joseph—pages and pages documenting how they stole Skyline Group's core technology and planned various schemes.

"Because she's Joseph's daughter," I said slowly. "On one side is the father who raised her, on the other is me, a friend she grew up with. Who she'd choose is pretty obvious. Besides, we hadn't seen each other for years. Who knows what happened during that time?"

Trevor's eyes moved between the computer screen and me, his expression growing darker.

"This isn't our call to make. We need to talk to the family."

I nodded—that was exactly what I wanted. "Fine, do what you need to do."

Trevor pulled out his phone and made a call. Soon, Dominic's voice came through.

Trevor quickly filled Dominic in on everything that had happened.

After a long silence, Dominic's heavy voice came through. "Give the phone to Griffin. I need to talk to him."

I took the phone, and before I could speak, Dominic cut in. "Get that evidence ready. I'll have a plane pick it up tonight."

"Sure. I'll leave everything at Phantom Night. Your helicopter can land on the roof."

I had Adrian and Jeremy prepare the evidence and take it to Phantom Night.

They nodded and left. I used another phone to contact Hazel, telling her to secretly follow Adrian and Jeremy.

"By the way, I have a proposal. I hope the Fisher family will work with me to take down Joseph."

"If the evidence checks out, we can work together," Dominic said steadily. "But I have one condition."

"Go ahead."

"Adrian and Jeremy must die." Dominic's voice was firm and final. "Jeremy framed Dwayne. He has to die."

"I'm fine with Jeremy dying. But why Adrian? Don't you know he's Ryan's brother? I promised Ryan I'd protect Adrian."

Dominic said, "Adrian's already betrayed you once. A second time isn't impossible."

"To show we're serious about working together, Adrian has to die. I trust you won't be soft about this."

After a brief hesitation, I agreed. "Alright, I agree."

"Pleasure doing business."

"Pleasure doing business."

After everything was handled and I'd seen Valentin and Trevor off, I immediately called Hazel. "How's it going? All done?"

"Mr. Ravenscroft, it's all taken care of."

"Good. Hand over Adrian and Jeremy along with the evidence to Dominic in person."

I hung up with a cold smile.

This was all part of my plan.

The so-called recording from Ryan was faked—I had someone simulate it. Things were so urgent back then, how could there have been any recording?

I'd done more than enough for Adrian. If he doesn't die, how will my other people see me?

The chat records between Chloe and Joseph were forged by me. Even the flash drive Aviah found was deliberately planted there.

I'd suspected Chloe all along. She's Joseph's daughter—I never forgot that.

But Joseph is powerful and cunning. My strength alone isn't enough to take him down completely.

I needed an ally, and the Fisher family was the perfect choice. They'd lost Dwayne, and Chloe definitely had a hand in it. If they investigate even a little, they'll find traces.

Add in the evidence I prepared and Jeremy's testimony as the main culprit.

All the misunderstandings will become tools for me to use.

And many things Joseph and Chloe actually did—they can never clear their names.

Aviah's concert was just bait, the start of my plan.

Aviah thought she could hide things from me, but I'd had Hazel secretly protecting her all along. I knew everything she went through.

I knew Scarlett would make a move, and I knew Chloe had installed surveillance in Aviah's office, so she'd definitely find out about the concert and likely send people.

I didn't expect Adrian and Jeremy to come, which shows that Chloe's people in Lakeview have mostly been cleared out by me. Otherwise she wouldn't have taken the risk of sending Adrian and Jeremy.

These two were obstacles I'd planned to remove anyway. Now they're perfect as bargaining chips to gain the Fisher family's trust.

Adrian killed Daron and Walter—I should've settled that score long ago. Jeremy repeatedly went after Aviah—he deserves to die too. Having them killed by the Fisher family's people removes the threat and shows our commitment to working together. Two birds with one stone.

As for Chloe, she thinks she's hidden well, but doesn't know her every move is under my control. Those forged records are meant to leave her nowhere to run.

If she hadn't been so overconfident and stayed at Skyline Group, I really wouldn't have been able to do much about her.

No matter how smart someone is, they'll slip up eventually.

My Bluetooth earpiece came to life again with Felix's voice. "Mr. Ravenscroft, Aviah's concert is over. Everything went smoothly."

"Good. Head back to Phantom Night and go with Hazel to Drakonia. Better to have backup—I'm worried they might go back on their word." My eyes turned to the window. My forces in Drakonia were already mobilized. Should be fine, but can't let my guard down.

The night was thick, like a huge net covering everyone.

Sebastian held down Phantom Night while Felix and Hazel went to Drakonia to negotiate for me.

Joseph.

This game was just beginning. The Fisher family and Joseph are enemies—I'll reap the benefits. When they've worn each other down, I'll make my move and eliminate all my enemies one by one.

As for Scarlett, she can't cause much trouble. After dealing with Joseph and Chloe, I can take my time with her.

The car drove back downtown. From a distance I could see Aviah in her mask saying goodbye to Scott outside Black Cat Pub.

I didn't approach, just watched from afar.

She was the most important piece in my game, and the person I wanted to protect.

When this storm passes, I'll give her a peaceful future.

My fingers tapped on my phone screen as I sent Hazel a message: "After you finish things, secretly protect Aviah. Don't let her get hurt. Things won't be calm for a while."

The car slowly pulled away, disappearing into the night.

In the rearview mirror, her figure grew smaller and smaller.

Joseph, are you ready?

This revenge will cost you dearly.
