Chapter 183: Scheming
Chapter 183: Scheming
Chloe's POV
When you connect all the clues together, the truth comes out.
I murmured to myself, standing by the window, looking at the view below.
"First, Tony going to Scarlett must be connected to the bet between Scarlett and Aviah. Scarlett is a smart woman. She wouldn't do anything meaningless."
What exactly was it?
Suddenly, I thought of something - the attack on Skyline Group's patent issue was orchestrated by Scarlett.
And the Fisher family and I just seized the opportunity to kick them while they were down.
So after this, who would be most afraid of being held accountable?
"It must be Scarlett. The Chambers family isn't strong enough to stand up to Griffin, so she's the most scared one. To protect the Chambers family, she only has one option - prepare in advance and make Griffin afraid to touch her! Afraid to touch the Chambers family."
"Only one person can do that - Aviah."
My eyes brightened, and my pacing unconsciously quickened.
"I get it now. The main reason Scarlett sent Tony to Dawnlight Isle was because Tony and Aviah have bad blood. From what we know, Tony's mission clearly failed. Whatever Scarlett sent him to do, the ultimate goal was definitely to get dirt on Aviah, using her to keep Griffin in check and protect the Chambers family."
"So if I can figure this out, Griffin can too. At a time like this, my father is far away in Aethermoor with power equal to Griffin's - he doesn't fear retaliation and doesn't need to act hastily. As for the Fisher family, they're far away in Drakonia, also a super powerful family - they don't need to rush either. They're not afraid of Griffin's revenge."
So who else would be worried about retaliation?
There's only one answer: "Scarlett."
Looking at it this way, Scarlett's plan to have Tony threaten Aviah must have failed.
Because it didn't work and Tony was discovered, he had to run. If I hadn't helped him, he'd probably be a corpse by now.
"What we know is that Tony failed and Scarlett was exposed, so she's basically been given a death sentence. In such a desperate situation, how would she save herself?"
My gaze turned to the computer screen, my mind quickly replaying that part where Aviah was talking to herself.
Finally, I focused on the truth about Alexander's death.
"Scarlett really lives up to her reputation - even in this situation, she can find a way to turn danger into safety. Aviah now has Griffin's backing, so she has everything - what she wants most is the truth about Alexander's death back then, right? And Scarlett used this as bait. There's no way Aviah could refuse her demands."
"This also explains why Griffin hasn't retaliated against the Chambers family yet. So that's how it happened."
My smile grew brighter. Since there's a bet between Scarlett and Aviah, it must be behind Griffin's back - he definitely doesn't know.
Combined with the clues about Aviah using a fake name and catchphrase, the bet between them is obvious!
Celebrity.
I know Aviah, I know she graduated from Phantom Voice Academy - maybe being a star is her dream.
And Scarlett definitely knows more than I do. Using this point, plus the truth about Alexander's death as bait.
A two-pronged approach, and the crisis is resolved.
I could barely contain my smile.
Because I saw hope for breaking this deadlock!
The bet between Scarlett and Aviah must be kept from Griffin, otherwise he wouldn't agree.
So can I use this to my advantage?
Since Aviah and Griffin's relationship is developing quickly, I can arrange for someone to flirt with Aviah, make Griffin jealous, make him think Aviah has moved on - then I'll be safe.
Maybe I can even gain more.
But achieving this goal won't be simple.
"Griffin used two fake identities to test Aviah in various ways - he already knows her character and nature."
"Getting him to believe she'd cheat is harder than getting him to believe the world will explode tomorrow. As her enemy, I have to admit that Aviah is a straightforward and sincere person."
So if I want to use this situation, the first challenge I need to overcome is this!
Of course, with enough misunderstandings, Griffin can't stay that firm, but that's the worst option and doesn't meet my pursuit of perfection.
To achieve this goal.
The best choice is to communicate with Scarlett - the enemy of my enemy is my friend!
With this thought, I didn't hesitate and immediately contacted Scarlett.
I used a voice changer to alter my voice.
"Hello, Scarlett."
Scarlett's cautious voice came through, "Who is this?"
"I think I might be able to help you get out of this crisis. You know, Skyline Group isn't easy to deal with."
Scarlett's voice darkened, "What do you want?"
I smiled, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend. I have a grudge against Aviah, you understand. Don't you?"
"A grudge? What grudge?"
"I can't say yet."
I heard Scarlett's mocking laugh, "I never work with insincere people. Since you're being so secretive, I don't think we need to continue this conversation."
I remained calm and waited quietly.
Sure enough, she didn't hang up.
She's been pushed into a corner. My call is like a lifeline - how could she easily give it up?
Right now, she won't let any opportunity slip away.
"Scarlett, don't rush. I'm just asking you for some information. In the end, you'll gain far more than what you give. This is a good deal. You're a smart person - you shouldn't refuse."
"Since you used the word 'shouldn't,' it means you're not that certain either. I'm not someone who's easily fooled."
Even at this critical moment, she can stay calm. She really is no ordinary person.
I sighed, pretending to give in, "I'll be honest. I have feelings for Griffin and want to stay by his side."
"But he's completely focused on Aviah. At first, I thought about faking evidence of her cheating to make him completely change his view of her."
"You're Aviah's nemesis - you know her character best. And I know Griffin too well. He's already seen through Aviah's nature. Such a clumsy trick wouldn't fool him at all."
"You were her best friend, the person who spent the most time with her day and night. Others can't understand her like you do."
"So you give me some suggestions, I'll execute them, and I can indirectly help you. Win-win - why not?"
Hearing this, Scarlett fell silent.
My words were ninety percent true, ten percent false. Plus I sounded sincere, and she has no way out - there's a high chance she'll choose to cooperate.
After five minutes of silence, Scarlett spoke again, "I feel your sincerity, and this can indeed help me. I can help you lure Aviah away, keep her as far from Skyline Group and Griffin as possible. During that time, it's your chance. But in return, what do I get?"
I almost laughed out loud. She's really shameless, turning her disadvantage into an advantage, cleverly using her bet with Aviah under the guise of helping me to ask for benefits.
But the smarter she acts, the happier I am. Two smart people dealing with one simple, foolish Aviah - how could we not succeed?
"I can help the Chambers family gain a higher status. I have connections in Aethermoor. If the diamond business goes smoothly, it should greatly improve the Chambers family's current situation."
"Happy cooperation. To make Griffin believe Aviah would cheat, I have an idea. I just don't know if you can pull it off."
I raised an eyebrow. Sure enough, Scarlett holds many secrets about Aviah.
"I'm all ears."
"You probably don't know that Ralph has two sons - the eldest Kevin and the second son August. Back then, Kevin died saving Aviah, and she knows about this. What do you think would happen if Kevin appeared in front of Aviah?"
