CHAPTER 62
CHAPTER 62
Mila
Maybe I was overthinking it but it did seem like lance was always angry with me about something I can't really understand. It's like I did something I can't even figure out.
"I will be upstairs" Olivia said quietly making her way to Lance's study. As much as neither of them loved to admit. They enjoy each other's company.
I sighed deeply and closed my eyes because it kind of reminded me of Mary and I. We bickered a lot too, but I really love her. I would give anything to go back to the past, even if it's us. Bickering again. I would do anything to go back there.
Lance
"Hand me my phone" I said immediately I saw Olivia's face in view.
"Why do you always act like a Jerk around Mila??"
She questioned
"Is there something you aren't saying"
"Are you gonna talk or what?" She questioned again
I looked at her frowning stretching my hands out for my phone. She placed the phone in my hands staring daggers at me and took a seat.
"You wanna tell me why you summoned me" She rolled her eyes, sarcasm evident in her tone.
"You wanna tell me why your ex is clinging to you?"
Her expression changed, she wore a frown not daring to match my gaze
"You always do that when you are about to lie" i gestured to her face.
"You know Gabriel is like that" she answered still not matching my gaze.
"Olivia" I warned
"You know I hate when I am being lied to"
"Shut up...I am older, and you are talking to me like I am your younger sister" she huffed, feigning annoyance.
I knew Olivia well enough to understand what she was trying to do. She wants me to go off the topic but I wouldn't give her that satisfaction.
"I know what you are doing Olivia, it's not working"
"Can you just drop it pls" she pleaded looking at me softly.
I sighed running my hands through my hair frusturatingly.
"I never liked Gabriel, and I still don't like him....if I see him loitering around your house next time, I would make sure he doesn't stand up for weeks" I said coldly gesturing for her to leave
"What do you think I am? One of your subordinates"
"Don't annoy me Olivia, I am only looking out for you" I snapped
"Awwwwn, so you do care about me" she blinked at me annoyingly.
"The door is that way, don't stress me and just go through it like a normal person would you" I gestured towards the exit, wanting her nowhere near me anymore.
"You haven't given me a response yet, I want answers lance...You shouldn't treat your wife like that, it speaks terrible of you" she said studying my expression like the answers she desired would just pop out of it.
"Olivia I have a lot of work to do" It would be nice if she gets the hell away from me so I could concentrate, but I knew she was going to stress me.
"That is big sis to you and that still doesn't answer my question, just give me an answer and boom I am out of here" she huffed crossing her arms over her chest
I sighed and leaned against my chair running my hands through my hair frustratingly.
"Olivia I am not mean to her, that is how I am to everybody, so don't read meaning to it"
"You are lying Lance, that is one thing you don't do...and doing it confirms something is definitely wrong"
"Everything is even wrong, why get married to her when you don't even love her" she pressed and I couldn't help but smirk.
"Did she ask you to put in a word or two for her" I chuckled
"Ugh...must you always be so condescending when it comes to her, contract or no contract you should respect her, she deserves that much from you" she frowned still studying my face for my answer.
"Well??"
"What do you want to hear from me Olivia?"
"Unlike you I am not an hypocrite, she is worlds apart from me, yes Olivia she is beneath me and I am definitely not going to make her think otherwise" I said each word deliberately cold.
She looked at me with wide eyes, her face wearing all of her emotions. She was extremely pissed, I could see tears in her eyes and I rolled my eyes in my head. Olivia was always more than dramatic.
"You are gradually becoming like our father was and that has always been my fear, that one day I wouldn't recognize the brother I once kne" My fist clenched at her words and I looked at her with a mixed expression, she knew better than to bring him up and she did just that. Way to go Olivia
She stood up suddenly and I heard her mutter jerk before her back faced me.
She dragged her feet on the floor just to annoy me and trust me it was working wonders. She suddenly turned and looked at me staring daggers.
"For the record you jerk, Mila is my friend and the next time you speak that way about her, I wouldn't think twice before setting you right asshole"
She slammed the door hard, so I hard that I imagined the whole house shake.
