Chapter 33

Chapter 33
|| LUCIUS's POV ||
As I raced through the corridors of Alpha Gerrat's castle, my heart pounding with fear and rage, I felt a sense of urgency like never before. Each step echoed like a thunderclap in the silence of the castle, my mind consumed by thoughts of Monica and the danger she faced.

Finally, I reached the room where I had last seen her, my heart skipping a beat as I pushed open the door and entered. What I found inside made my blood run cold.

There she lay, crumpled on the floor, her body battered and bruised, her face pale and drawn with pain. My breath caught in my throat as I rushed to her side, my hands trembling as I gently cradled her in my arms.

"Monica," I whispered, my voice choked with emotion as I brushed a strand of hair from her face. "Can you hear me? Are you alright?"

Her eyelids fluttered open, revealing eyes clouded with pain and confusion. "Lucius?" she murmured, her voice barely a whisper. "What happened?"

I felt a surge of rage coursing through me as I looked down at her, her injuries a stark reminder of the cruelty that lurked within these walls. "It was Alpha Gerrat," I growled, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. "He's responsible for this, I know it."

Monica's eyes widened in shock, a flicker of fear crossing her features as she struggled to sit up. "But why?" she asked, her voice trembling with emotion. "What does he want with me?"

I shook my head, my mind racing with possibilities. "I don't know," I admitted, my voice filled with frustration. "But I won't let him get away with this. I swear, Monica, I'll make him pay for what he's done to you."

With a gentle hand, I helped her to her feet, supporting her weight as she leaned against me for support. Together, we made our way out of the room and back into the castle corridors, determination burning bright in my heart.

It wasn't long before we found ourselves face to face with Alpha Gerrat and his cohorts, their smug expressions sending a wave of fury crashing over me like a tidal wave. "What have you done to her?" I demanded, my voice shaking with anger as I glared at them.

Alpha Gerrat feigned innocence, his expression a mask of false concern. "I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, Lucius," he replied smoothly, his voice dripping with malice. "Your precious Monica was like this when we found her. We had nothing to do with it."

I scoffed, my patience wearing thin as I clenched my jaw in frustration. "Don't play games with me, Gerrat," I snapped, my voice cold and hard as steel. "I know you're behind this, and if anything happens to Monica, I swear I'll—"

Before I could finish my threat, Alpha Gerrat's laughter cut through the air like a knife, the sound sending a chill down my spine. "You'll what, Lucius?" he taunted, his eyes flashing with malice. "Kill us? You don't have the guts."

But I refused to back down, my resolve unwavering as I glared at him with contempt. "Try me," I spat, my voice low and dangerous. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect Monica, even if it means destroying you and everything you stand for."

For a moment, there was silence as we stood locked in a tense standoff, the air crackling with tension. But then, with a dismissive wave of his hand, Alpha Gerrat turned and walked away, his laughter echoing off the walls as he disappeared into the darkness.

I clenched my fists in frustration, my heart heavy with the weight of the danger that surrounded us. But as I turned to Monica, her eyes filled with gratitude and determination, I knew that no matter what trials lay ahead, we would face them together, united in our resolve to overcome the darkness and emerge victorious.
As Monica and I stood together in the dimly lit corridor, her words hung heavy in the air like a dark cloud of foreboding. "Lucius," she began, her voice trembling with emotion, "there's something you need to know about Alpha Gerrat. He's been keeping girls captive in this castle."

My blood ran cold at her revelation, a surge of anger coursing through me at the thought of innocent lives being held against their will. "Girls?" I echoed, my voice low and dangerous as I turned to face her. "How many?"

Monica's eyes flickered with sadness as she shook her head. "I'm not sure," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "But I saw a room filled with beds, each one occupied by a young girl. They looked scared, Lucius, like they were prisoners."

Rage burned hot within me as I clenched my fists, the image of those frightened girls seared into my mind like a brand. "That bastard," I growled, my voice thick with fury. "How dare he prey on the innocent like that?"

But before I could voice my plans for vengeance, Alpha Gerrat appeared, his smug smirk sending a surge of revulsion coursing through me. "Ah, Lucius," he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "I see you've been talking to the slave woman. You shouldn't trust her, you know. She's nothing but a liar and a thief."

I bristled at his words, my hands balling into fists at my sides as I fought to keep my temper in check. "Don't you dare insult her," I spat, my voice low and dangerous. "Monica has more honor and integrity in her little finger than you do in your entire body."

Gerrat's laughter echoed off the walls, a cruel sound that grated on my nerves like nails on a chalkboard. "Oh, how noble," he mocked, his eyes gleaming with malice. "Defending the honor of a lowly slave. Tell me, Lucius, does it make you feel like a hero?"

I took a step forward, my eyes blazing with fury as I glared at him with undisguised contempt. "You have no idea what it means to be a hero," I growled, my voice cold and hard as steel. "But mark my words, Gerrat, I will put an end to your reign of terror and free those girls from your clutches, no matter the cost."

But Gerrat only laughed, his arrogance unshaken by my threats. "You're welcome to try, Lucius," he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. "But I wouldn't get your hopes up. After all, what chance does a mere mortal like you have against the might of Alpha Gerrat?"

With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me seething with rage and frustration. But as I turned to Monica, her eyes filled with determination and resolve, I knew that no matter the odds, we would fight together to bring justice to those who had been wronged and to ensure that Alpha Gerrat paid for his crimes.

As Alpha Gerrat's mocking laughter faded into the distance, I turned back to Monica, her presence a beacon of strength in the darkness that surrounded us. "Are you alright?" I asked, my voice soft with concern as I reached out to gently touch her arm.

She nodded, her eyes meeting mine with a steely determination that filled me with admiration. "I'll be fine, Lucius," she assured me, her voice steady despite the turmoil that raged within her. "But we need to do something about those girls. We can't just leave them here."

I nodded in agreement, a surge of determination coursing through me as I met her gaze with unwavering resolve. "You're right," I said firmly. "We can't let Alpha Gerrat continue to prey on the innocent. We have to find a way to free those girls and put an end to his tyranny once and for all."

With a shared understanding, we set off through the castle corridors, our footsteps echoing off the stone walls as we searched for a way to rescue the captive girls and bring Alpha Gerrat to justice. But as we moved deeper into the heart of the castle, the shadows seemed to grow darker, the air heavy with the weight of our mission.

Finally, we reached the door to the room where Monica had seen the girls, our hearts pounding with anticipation as we prepared to confront the horrors that lay within. With a silent nod of agreement, I pushed open the door and stepped inside, my senses on high alert as I surveyed the scene before me.

The room was dimly lit, the air thick with the scent of fear and desperation. Rows of small beds lined the walls, each one occupied by a young girl, their faces twisted in expressions of fear and despair. My heart ached at the sight of them, their innocence
stolen away by the cruelty of Alpha Gerrat and his minions.
