Chapter 13 A New Friend-with-benefits

Chapter 13 A New Friend-with-benefits
REID

I’ve known Raven long enough to understand that if he’s asking to see me, it’s never for anything good. Trouble follows that asshole like shadow follows flame.

We share blood, but we’ve never shared anything deeper than that. And that has always been on him. Raven has been nothing but chaos since we were kids, and most times, I was the one bleeding for it.

At first, I convinced myself it was normal brother rivalry. Until the day I realized he wasn’t trying to compete. He was trying to destroy. He dragged me into situations that could’ve ended my life, more than once. He watched me struggle like it entertained him, that twisted gleam in his eyes always there. That was when I stopped lying to myself.

He has always wanted me dead.

So tell me why the hell he suddenly reached out to Voss, asking for a meeting. He’s always wanted our father’s throne. That hunger has never been hidden. Now that I’m banished, he finally gets to have everything he’s ever wanted.

So what now? Why call me? What’s his new play?

“What do I tell him?” Voss asks beside me, waiting for an answer. I stare at him, making sure not even a ghost of a smile touches my face.

“Tell him to go fuck himself,” I say flatly. “I’m heading home.”

I start walking away, leaving the noise and heat of the underground behind. Voss calls after me.

“You can’t leave now! You have to participate in your initiation celebration!”

I don’t even bother glancing his way one last time. His voice fades as I leave the arena and walk up the stairs to the exit doors. Just as I’m about to step out, a female’s voice stops me.

“Hey! I think you forgot this.”

I turn. It’s the girl from earlier. She walks toward me, holding my jacket. That small, flirtatious smile curls her lips as she moves.

Right. I took it off before the race and almost left it behind.

“Thanks,” I say, reaching for it, but she doesn’t hand it over. Instead, she steps closer and starts to drape it over me herself.

I watch her silently.

She’s in a leather mini skirt and sheer lace leggings, with knee-high boots anchored to the ground. A cropped white tank top clings to her, topped with a black jacket. Her hair is dyed black with streaks of purple.

“You were impressive in there,” she says while adjusting the jacket around my shoulders. “Jacob’s an ass. Glad someone shut him up.”

“Thanks,” I repeat, stepping past her once she’s done. I head for my bike parked in the alley. She follows.

“I’m Nova,” she introduces. “Been with the club two years.”

“Good for you,” I answer, climbing onto my bike. I turn the ignition.

“I like you, Reid. We should be friends.”

I look at her then. Her directness catches me off guard, and almost amuses me. I’ve had girls throw themselves at me in every way possible, but she’s the first to just say it outright, no hesitation.

“I don’t make friends, Nova. Sorry to disappoint you.” I tell her, offering the politest version of my smile.

“Then maybe what you want…” she says, stepping closer slowly. Her fingers brush my arm, sliding up my chest in a feather-like manner. “Is a friend with benefits?”

\~~~~~~

“Ohh—fuck, Reid. Yes, fuckkkk.” Nova moans loudly as she bounces faster over my cock, her boobs dangling as she milks me, eyes rolled back in pleasure.

I grip her waist, holding her in place as I take over, pounding her hard from beneath. Her moans turn into loud whimpers, breathing ragged, eyes barely open.

Minutes later, I finish and pull my condom laced cock out of her. My thighs are wet with all of her squirts and cum.

“Oh, gods. Fuck.” She pants between breaths, a shaky laugh escaping her as she rolls off me, and drops onto the bed beside me. “I swear, I’ve never been fucked this way before. What are you? A sex god?”

“Get dressed and leave” I say instead, standing and heading for the bathroom. A knock interrupts me halfway.

“Prince Reid,” a maid calls from behind the door. “Dinner is served. Lord Magnus asks that you join him and his daughters.”

“I’ll be there,” I reply, though the last place I want to be is at that table. Especially close to Lyra.

I enter the bathroom and proceed to wash the sweat and scent of sex from my skin. Once I’m done, I wrap a towel around my waist and return to find Nova still sprawled naked across my bed, scrolling her phone like she lives here.

My jaw tightens. “Why aren’t you dressed?”

She finally looks at me, my irritation amusing her. “I need a shower first. Can’t walk around smelling like cum.”

“Then do it,” I say, voice flat. She made it clear she only wanted to fuck, and so did I. Anything to force Lyra out of my head. But the fact that she’s still here grates at me.

“I’ll stay for dinner,” she adds casually, standing and walking to my closet like she owns it. She flips through my shirts, humming. “I’ll leave in the morning. Which of these do you think fits?”

I just stare at her unbelievably. I’ve met bold women before, but she takes audacity to a level I didn’t know existed.

I’m about to open my mouth and tell her to get out when a thought hits me.

Lyra.

If she sees Nova with me, arms wrapped around mine, wearing my clothes, she’ll hate me. She already does, but this? This will make sure the hate sinks deep enough to shatter the soul tie between us. And if she hears us later when we fuck all-through the night, then even better. Her room is just right after mine, anyway.

I almost smile at my brilliant idea, but swallow it down.

“Fine,” I say instead. “Stay. But you’re gone at dawn.”

She grins, satisfied.

But I don’t feel anything close to satisfaction, even with my genius plan. A tight ache stirs beneath my ribs. I wonder how Lyra will look at me when she sees Nova walking beside me tonight.

And why her reaction matters so damn much to me.
