Chapter 51 Untitled Chapter
“This was our fear right from the beginning, Alpha Amelia. We told you the pack doesn't want a female to rule them as the Alpha,” one of the elders said, sounding as if he was right about everything.
“Same here. But you wouldn't listen to us and Beta Casper, who saw all this coming and tried to stop you; you exiled him and his family from this pack,” another one added.
I sat across the table, on the throne, hands on my head as I listened to them say whatever came to their filthy mouths. I was so upset, and the power within me was swirling in my mind, making my chest heavy. If this goes on, I won't be able to control it anymore.
If that power takes control of me, not only me, but everyone in this pack will regret starting the fire.
“Why are you guys so ungrateful!” Hans snapped at them and sprang up from the chair he was sitting on beside me. “Have you already forgotten what Amelia has done for this pack since she became the alpha five months ago? And you're talking about the former beta. What was his offense? You guys were here when he confessed he was the one who threatened Axel to send Rowan an apology letter on behalf of Amelia…”
“Because he was looking out for this pack!” they interrupted him. "And didn't know what he was running away from happened? Rowan attacked us, and in the process, innocent wolves were killed. Tell me, Alpha Hans, how will you explain it? Was that also part of protecting the pack? Amelia has only been causing chaos in this pack since the first day she took over the position that is supposed to be yours.”
Oh, goddess, keep calming my mind because I will soon lose it.
“Oh, really? You are all ingrates, and do you know what ingrates get? punished!” Hans snarled. He, too, was so upset now. His eyes kept bulging out with any movement he made, and all the veins on his head were visible.
“Alpha Hans, you've got to calm down; this isn't your business. The only thing you should be doing right now is learning how to calm all the members in this pack by taking over what belongs to you, not fueling our hearts. We want you as the Alpha, so Amelia must step down!”
How dare they! In my presence? They have gone nuts, and they have to taste my fury. I cannot take shit from them anymore. I am fed up.
“Amelia!” Amy screamed, her paws thumping in my mind. “I can't hold it in anymore! Allow me to unleash it!” She growled in pain, her voice echoing like a drum in my head.
Not only her, but I could not take it any longer. The power kept hurting me inside the more I tried to control myself. It felt like I was set on fire, and all the organs in my body were burning. My skin burned under my dress, and in a second, I was drenched in my own sweat.
I sprang up with clenched teeth, letting the power gush over me like fire. Seeing the blue light from my eyes and the mists floating above me, the elders leapt to their feet and took to their heels, running towards the door to leave the hall, but I snapped my fingers, locking the door and trapping them inside.
“How dare you!” My voice echoed like a thunderclap, jerking them off. The force of the wind that followed the mist I threw at them pushed them to the floor.
They grasp onto each other, drawing their butts towards the wall, eyes widening in shock.
“Amelia, stop it!”
Hans yelled, but his voice brushed past my ear because of the heavy wind.
I lifted my hands and slammed them on the table, and the huge table, which had been standing there for years, broke and scattered around.
“You think you can challenge my authority? Then take this!”
The door broke when I threw another mist at them, and this time, they took to their heels and staggered out of the hall.
I wanted to go after them, to show them that they can never mess with me because messing with me comes with a lot of consequences, but Hans stood in my way, blocking me from going after them.
“Get out of my sight, Hans!” I snapped at him, but he wouldn't.
“You are letting your power take control of you, Amelia. Come back to your senses!”
He dodged the mist I threw at him and used that opportunity to grab my hand.
“Let us go!” Amy screamed in my head, scratching my mind with her claws.
It was supposed to hurt me, but it didn't. I felt nothing, and that was because of the power that had taken control of me.
“Look at me, Amelia, I am right here with you, and I will protect you. Do not allow them to turn you into who you are not. You are nice and a great leader. And they? They are only looking for ways to tarnish your image, and you cannot give them what they want.”
It wasn't his words that were calming me, but his touch. When he kept tapping my back gently, my mind kept relaxing a bit.
And the moment I returned to my senses and realized the mess I had made, tears flowed down my face.
That wasn't how I wished for things to turn out. I'd desired to use my power to create an exemplary space for them, but they want to turn me into a bad leader.
“I love you, Amelia.”
Hans threw me into his embrace, hugging me so tight that there was no way I could break free. And I wasn't going to break free from him; I want to stay that way for the rest of my life.
Hans had just told me the words I had longed for and waited for him to tell me. He loves me, and it melted my heart.
Suddenly, voices broke out outside. And as we listened attentively, it grew louder each second.
Hans and I went over to the window, and right there inside the company, almost all the members of the pack were all over the place, shouting and waving the banners in their hands.
“We don't need an Alpha who practices dark magic!”
