Chapter 50 Untitled Chapter

Chapter 50 Untitled Chapter
AMELIA BROOK

With Rowan gone, things are supposed to be moving smoothly now, right? And I should be dealing with the next pack on my list, correct? Well, things aren't going the way I had planned they would be.

It’s just like killing a villain, too, which has its own consequences, and whoever kills them must go through a life trial.

Since the very day I killed and burnt Rowan, it has been one problem after the other. First, it was the experience with Hams, and now, the problem is with the pack.

A lot of things have been happening lately, and it makes me question my leadership. This isn't how I had predicted it to be. I wanted it to be like licking an ice cream off a cone, so sweet that it would make me crave more.

But it isn't; my pack members are turning against me. They have no respect for me anymore, and they whisper different kinds of words when they see me.

Surprising, right? I was stunned when I first realized it.

“If this continues, I will be forced to take action,” Amy snapped, and her sharp tone pierced into my mind like a pin.

“I know, but stop hurting me, girl. Allow me to handle this first, and if I can't do it alone, you will come in.”

She grumbled, sank into my mind, and all went quiet once again. Now that my mind is clear, I need to think of a way to tackle the issue, but Hans interrupted.

I nearly lost my mind over that, but it is Hans. I had to control myself because I cannot flip on the man I love.

“Still worried?” he asked, placing a plate of mooncakes in front of me. I bobbed my head, worried, then sighed deeply. “It is just happening so fast, Hans, and I am not prepared for it. Honestly, I didn't know that one day, they would turn against me. I have been doing my best for more than five months now since I ascended to this position.” I inhaled, shut my eyes, and dropped it on the bedframe.

Hans moved closer, sat beside me, and wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I felt a bit relaxed by that and felt more relaxed when I dropped my head on his shoulder.

“You don't need to worry about petty things.” he stroked my hair gently.

But petty things? They are not petty things. They are things that can destroy me if I don't bring an end to them. I've been working my ass off for them, and the least they could do is show some respect.

“I am right here with you, and I know you are perfect. Look at you, Amelia; the Lunskye Pack is lucky to have an Alpha who cares so much about them.”

Trying to cool off my mind? Pfft. That will never work. I just hope those wolves realize that what they are doing will get them in trouble before it is too late. If they don't and my limit is exceeded, they will regret it.

“Why don't we go to the company so you can cool off?” he asked, getting up from the bed.

However, going to the company was the worst decision ever! And I wished I hadn't said yes to him.

As soon as the car drove out of the packhouse and hit the street, my worst nightmare appeared ahead of me.

The Lunskye pack members, the majority of them, if not all, were gathered across the streets, blocking the roads, causing a huge traffic jam. At first, when I saw the crowd ahead, I thought an accident had occurred until we got closer and my eyes drifted to the banner in their hands.

WE DO NOT NEED A FEMALE ALPHA.

WE WANT A MAN TO RULE US.

WHO WANTS A LEADER WHO PRACTICES DARK MAGIC?

WE ARE FED UP WITH YOU, AMELIA BROOK. STEP DOWN AS AN ALPHA AND TAKE YOUR POSITION AS THE LUNA.

My eyes snapped in rage, and tension built up in my chest. I have never been more humiliated in my entire life than in that moment. Those fools have the mind to take over the whole street with banners in their hands, shouting the words written on them.

How dare they? Have they no idea who they are dealing with?

My hands clenched into a fist, and as my heart raced in my ears, I shut my eyes, summoning my power.

Me, practice dark magic? Are they nuts? Who dares to spread those fake rumors?

“Amelia, calm down, please.” Hans pleaded, holding my hand. “They are your pack members, you love them, and they love you so much. Something must be wrong somewhere, and I plead on their behalf. Please listen to me.”

Love me? Is what was right in front of us love? Hans must be out of his mind to think about that.

“Unhand me!” I thundered, pulling my hand away from him.

But Hans grabbed my hand again, pinned me to his body, and the moment our bodies touched, the blue light in my eyes disappeared.

“Do not do this; you will regret it later. Just ignore them. Think about the good things you've done for them and how good they've treated you, too.”

That's the problem. Thinking about the good things I did for them only upsets me the most. I felt betrayed.

“Amelia?” Amy whimpered, and as tears dropped from my eyes, she sank. We were both hurt to be betrayed by those we were meant to protect.

Nevertheless, that wouldn't be a problem. I will ignore them just as Hans had said and continue what I was doing for the Pack.

After all, I aimed to become the

Alpha, and since I have achieved that, I must follow my father’s footsteps.

Arriving at the company took an eternity because of the heavy traffic along the way. Eventually, we arrived.

“Alpha Amelia, this isn't good. The Pack members are all over the street, carrying banners, and shouting your name.” General Lykon said in concern, But that wasn't necessary.

I mean, I already know about that, so no need to fuel the fire Hans has already taken out.

“And that didn't stop there; they are all over the internet.”

What! My eyes snapped wide, and my heart started thumping against my chest. The pressure on my chest made my sternum ache severely. And when I thought that was the end, he stepped forward and extended his hand to me, holding a paper.

“A petition to remove you from the position.”
