Chapter 29 Activating the gift from the Moon Goddess
“What could that be?”
“You will find out soon, Amelia. Be patient.”
Patience? He is kidding me, right? How can he say Luna Elaine Morgan and I have something between us, yet he wouldn't tell me? Geez! This is wild.
“Now tell me what brought you here,” he switched the topic, sipping on his coffee as if he wasn't the one who had just flipped my brain.
“Can you at least give us a hint, Healer Matt?” Hans asked, but I know that man won't say a word. I've known him since childhood. Whenever he tells you he won't repeat anything and you should find it out yourself, he absolutely means it.
“I am listening,” he ignored Hans’ question, staring at me.
“But you know I am an Alpha, right? And I can force you to say it?”
He chuckled loudly, placed the cup of coffee on the table, and got up.
“I know, sweetheart, but you can't use that on me. I was your Daddy’s best friend.”
Urrghh!
“Now, tell me what exactly brought you here. I have many appointments today. And you Alphas can not waste my time in attending to the injured victims from yesterday.”
I sighed deeply, glanced at Hans, and told him to leave the man alone. Nothing we do will make him spit it out. And now, it is up to me to find it myself.
“Then tell me how I can activate the magic that only I can control.” I rolled my eyes, exaggerating the last word.
“Very well, dear.”
He took the ring from me and removed the hairpin from another box on his TV stand. That was weird because I didn't go along with mine.
“That isn't mine, right?” I asked curiously, and he nodded his head. Then whose could it be? He said only two were available, so the other one should be in the Arkonix Pack, not his house.
“Does that belong to my late Mum?” Hans asked, getting up to take a closer look at the hairpin.
“It’s hers!” he gasped after confirming it.
“Are you sure it is your mum’s?” I asked him, getting up too. And yes, it was hers; her name is boldly written.
How did he get hold of it? This isn't very clear.
“Your brother’s power will boost if he gets his hand on this hairpin. Not only him, but anyone who is an Alpha, or born of an Alpha. That was why I took it away from your Pack the moment your parents died.”
Healer Matt is more capable than I thought. How did he even do that with all the security in that Pack?
“You stole what belongs to us?” Hans gasped in shock.
“Not steal, it's to save it! Now you kids should sit down and allow me to explain this! You are annoying me.”
We didn't like that he spoke to us that way; we are Alphas and deserve respect. Nevertheless, we did as he said since we were the ones who needed something from him.
He placed the ring in one hand, then the hairpin in the other.
“Amelia Brook?”
He called, his eyes turning pure white.
“It is Alpha Amelia Brook, dude!” his eyes snapped shut, and when he opened them, they were back to normal.
“Seriously? You just…” he inhaled deeply, then exhaled. “Just answer, Amelia, that is your name.”
“Yes, it is, but you must call me by my status too, or else, I won't answer you.” I folded my arms, not giving a damn that he was trying to help me.
He shook his head, turned to Hans, and sat down.
“So much for dealing with a 23-year-old girl. Amelia, you aren't a teenager anymore; you are an adult, so act like one!”
Whatever!
If he doesn't refer to me as an Alpha, we will spend the entire day here saying the same thing.
“Okay, fine! Just watch and repeat what I say. Now stretch your palms.”
He placed the ring on my left, then the hairpin on my right palm. But I am curious.
“A quick question, this hairpin doesn't have my name on it. Do you think it will work?”
“Of course, it will. Remember, you and Luna Elaine Morgan have something deep between you.”
Oh, that.
“Okay then, let's start.” I smiled, steadying my hands.
“Are you sure you are done with the questions?”
Dude, yes!
“Go on, Healer Matt.”
He sighed in relief, stepped back, and took a deep breath.
“Whatever I say, you repeat it. But do not try to change anything, understand? The magic will warp, and you won't like the outcome.”
No biggie, as long as it won't take me away from Hans. And I mean it this time.
“But I can say my name anyhow I want it, correct?”
“Sure, it is your name. As long as you don't cut out Amelia,”
Hans chuckled, and I glared at him. He went mute, covered his mouth, and bowed slightly to me.
“You must say this deep from your heart, Amelia, let your wolf feel it so the magic can get into her too.”
“Wait a second,”
“And here we go again!” Hans gasped, throwing his hand in the air. But Healer Matt was calm, and I ignored Hans.
“Amy, my wolf, already is powerful and can take down a huge wolf,” I glanced at Hans. “Don't you think allowing her to feel the magic will…I don't know… make her misbehave?”
He shook his head, tapped his forehead, and forced a smile.
“Absolutely not, Amelia, it won't. By the way, if she tries to misbehave, you can control her because you are the keeper of the magic.”
Oh, that.
“Alright, I like the sound of that.” I giggled, smiling excitedly. Now I am getting a power of my own! Yikes!
“Repeat after me,”
I bobbed, and he steadied himself in front of me.
“I, then you say your name,”
Glad he said that. Phew!
“I, Alpha Amelia Brook, daughter of Alpha Brook, and Luna Selena,”
When I said that, my eyes snapped wide, and my vision became pure white.
“I merge this ring and hairpin, to let the magic within it flow through my bloodstream and give me the power the Moon Goddess has made it with.”
My head started spinning as I repeated the words one after the other, then a loud thunderclap pierced my ear, hitting my eardrum, and I lost consciousness.
