35. Misunderstanding 5

35. Misunderstanding 5
He got to the gate and asked the gate men to let him in and they did. After he parked his car, he led him to the parlor.
“Welcome once again, Your Justiceship. Kindly sit down,” he said, and motioned him to a seat
“Thank you, General. I must compliment you for the impact you have made within a few days in the company,” Justice Vancouver stated.
Tim smiled satisfactorily and replied, “I'm humbled, Your Justiceship. I wish I could do more."
“That is good to hear. Keep up the good work.”
“Thank you, for that. I called you because of the divorce between my ex-wife and me.”
“Oh! What about it?”
“I wish to get my alimony.”
“Didn't you collect it that day?”
“No, Your Justiceship. I did not collect it because I was overemotional. I was disoriented to know that she opted for a divorce.”
“I see. That won't be a big deal. The court will write her to pay you at once,” the Judge stated with levity until Tim informed him of the problem.
“There is a problem and I think you should know beforehand.”
He gave him a searching look and he explained, “She believed that I was killed by the military men who picked me up that day.”
“Oh! How do you know?”
“I heard it from her statement to the press.”
“Huh! We will take them one after the other. We will request your alimony from her. If she refuses because you are dead, she will show us your grave.”
Tim smiled at the revelation and asked, "That is good. What if she does not show you my grave?”
“Leave that for the judiciary. Until we get to the bridge, we cannot cross it.”
“Okay. One more thing, Your Justiceship.”
“Yes. Let's hear it.”
“She falsely accused me of kicking her stomach and beating her up, which led to her miscarriage.”
“How?”
“I did not do that. Rather, she attacked me. Apart from that, she did not suffer any miscarriage but she aborted my baby without my consent.”
“Abort your baby? She must have done that after the divorce, when you had no claim over her anymore.”
“It is not so, Your Justiceship. She aborted before the divorce. I have the evidence.”
“This is bad. As I said, we will take the cases one after the other. Okay?”
“I got it.”
“I will get a lawyer that you will discuss with while I remain neutral.”
“It is okay by me provided the lawyer will not know my identity.”
“Not at all,” he made clear.
Afterward, the Judge left and Tim walked back to the basement. His phone rang before he took his seat and it was a call from the Head of State.
“Good morning, Your Excellency,” he greeted.
“Good morning, Tim. I missed your call. I hope there is no problem.”
“Yes. I called to inform you that the boys have returned to school and they have an appreciation card for you.”
“Wow! That is thoughtful of them. I can't wait to see the cards.”
“I will bring them whenever I come to your office.”
“It is all right.”
“Another thing is that the opponent of Savannah, the country that bought arms from us, is eager to know the source of their guns and ammunition.”
“That is good. It will give us more sales.”
“That is true. If I may suggest, can you send a congratulatory message to them?”
“That will be nice.”
“I think so. We are not hiding that we supported them during the war. Are we?”
“Not at all. I will broadcast live now.”
“It is okay.”
“Is there any other thing?”
“None for now.”
After the call, he sat down and adjusted the disturbing cross bag that was on his neck. He unzipped it and brought out his hand gloves. He looked at them and discovered that they were not getting old. Likewise, he had hoped that it would be a good reason to discard them and that his grandfather would not be offended.
However, he positioned his device so that he could monitor his office. Then, he put on the hand gloves, dropped his phone into the bag, and began his work.
At The Auxiliary Armory PLC
Since she was idle and George would not need her she picked up her phone and called The Canterbury Defense Academy. She did not have the Commandant's contact nor was she familiar with the teachers or Housemasters. The only time she visited the school was during the Matriculation, and Tim was responsible for all the running around. He was recognized as the boys' parent rather than Laura or her parents.
“Hello. This is the Canterbury Defense Academy. How may we help you?” The lady at the school reception answered.
She swallowed hard and responded, “Good morning, Ma'am. I wish to inquire about Gerald and Samuel Dickson. Are they in school?”
“Who are you, please?”
“I'm Miss Laura Dickson. Their big sister.”
“Oh! Sorry, Ma'am. You are speaking with the receptionist. Student matters are handled by the House Masters. Kindly contact their Housemasters. Have a pleasant day,” the lady advised her and ended the call.
She looked at her phone and was close to tears when the General Manager and George walked out of the office and he locked his door.
“Good morning, Sgt. Young,” she greeted with a normal tone.
“Good morning, Miss Dickson,” he responded without looking at her face. His attention was on the janitor and he asked, “How are you, Gilbert?”
He stood up quickly and answered, “I am fine.”
George smiled at him and instructed, “That is good. Kindly wait for me. I will be back.”
“Okay, Boss,” he answered and waited for him to leave.
In The Premises
After they left, the General Manager returned to his office while George went to the gatehouse. For whatever reason, the Head of the team loved him. Not because he was acting on behalf of the President but because of his sterling attributes.
“Good morning, General,” he saluted him when he walked into the gatehouse.
“Good morning, Corporal,” he returned the salute and requested, “I wish to see the President's Secretary's team members.”
The Corporal looked at him and showed ignorance of his request.
“I mean her driver, security, and escorts,” he explained further.
“Consider it done, Boss,” he accepted and ordered his men to get the ten of them.
George walked around the premises to see things for himself while waiting for the miscreants.
Meanwhile, the team members were at the mess hall, messing about. Since they began to follow Laura about six months ago, they forgot their main responsibilities as patrol officers.
“Hey! Your attention is needed at the gatehouse,” the Corporal informed them and they were baffled.
“What for?” One of them asked and the Corporal scowled and took a step.
“I must not get to the gatehouse before you,” he declared and walked away.
They looked at each other and advised themselves. Instantly, they followed him. Unfortunately for them, he got to the gatehouse before them.
Tim was right. They would not be tamed unless a severe punishment were given to them. George considered it disrespectful for the Corporal to arrive before them and he barked, “Are you out of your senses? Why should a Corporal be here before you?”
