Chapter 33 A Mother’s Love
(THIRD PERSON'S P.O.V)
ONE MONTH LATER
A month had passed already and Shannica is doing her best to get to use to her life in the Lincoln Family.
Shannica started to fulfill her duties as a wife and as a mother to Xenon although Xenon is still really rude and cold towards Shannica. He always act like a spoiled brat and shouted at Shannica few times but Shannica won't give up.
Xander was on his business trip abroad for one week, and today is the 6th day he's not around, he said to Shannica that he'll be home tomorrow morning. Although a month pass by, Xander and Shannica remain to be casual in their relationship, they act like a perfect and sweet couple infront of everyone, even their own household without knowing that those acts are empty words and feelings.
Time check: 3:00 PM
Today is Thursday and Shannica is so bored, she went to the marketplace with Aunt Milla earlier and even help cooking with their lunch. But now, she can't help but to sat on the living room and stare at the wide T.V alone.
'I can't wait for tomorrow..' she uttered in her mind. Tomorrow is Beatrice birthday, and she will be hanging out with Beatrice tomorrow the whole day.
"Good afternoon, young master."
The entrance door open and Xenon pop out from it, Shannica begin to smile again after seeing the kid home after school.
"Xenon, you're back. How's school?" Shannica ask and get Xenon's things.
He didn't respond and didn't even glance at Shannica. He's spacing out and it seems like he's in a bad mood.
Shan look at Glenda and give her a 'What's wrong with Xenon?' look.
"Are you hungry? Wait, I'll prepare you some snacks--" Shannica said but he cut her words off immediately,
"No. I'm tired. I want to sleep." he answered with a poker face and walk towards the stairways.
But before he could leave, Shannica hold his wrist lightly to stop him from walking.
"W-Wait Xenon... Is there something bothering you? What happen? You can tell me." she uttered and stare at him seriously. Shannica can't help but to feel concern. She can sense that there's something wrong.
But he aggressively remove Shannica's hands from his wrist,
"Stop acting like you care." he respond in a icey tone and left Shannica dumbfounded.
He went upstairs and Shannica take a deep breath out of stress, she look over at Glenda and decided to ask,
"Did something happen at school, Glenda?" she ask with a worried face.
"O-Oh well the thing is... There will be a Parent-Teacher Association meeting tomorrow afternoon at Xenon's school, Madame." Glenda opens up.
"Really? Xander will be back my tomorrow morning. I will tell him about it." she said smiling.
But Glenda smile awkwardly and said,
"Uhm the truth is, Sir Xander never attended any of sir Xenon's school events, madane."
"What? Why wouldn't he?" she confused question.
Glenda shrug her shoulder,
"I'm not sure, Madame but ever since I got here, I was the one who keeps on attending Xenon's school activities." she answers.
'Would Xenon mind if I'll be attending the parents meeting in behalf of Xander? Aish but tomorrow is Beatrice's birthday...'
Because of that, Shannica keeps on thinking about the event the whole night. Her mind is occupied with the thoughts of Xenon. During dinner Shannica watches over Xenon, and he really is in such a 'don't you dare ask or talk to me' mood.
NEXT DAY
Shannica silently stare at Xenon while he was eating breakfast before going to school,
"Xenon." she started.
The kid glance at her, "What?" he asks in a furrowed forehead.
"Hmm, what are you doing this afternoon? Should I fetch you from school? Shall we have fun outside? Come to think of it, we still have not gone for a walk or something together." she invited him.
"What are you talking about? Tse." he boredly answer and put down his utensils and stood up.
"You're done?"
"I lose my appetite, thanks to you." he said arrogantly and turn his back on Shannica.
Shannica wants to open up the Parent Teacher Association meeting to Xenon that she made up her mind to come to school and attend the meeting herself, but knowing him, Shannica thinks that he would refuse and throw tantrums again.
Just like that Xenon went to school, and Shannica waved goodbye to him.
'Hmm I should call Beatrice that I have to cancel our funday today...'

On the other hand, Xenon arrived at school with such a poker face expression. Even at school, he is known as an Ice Prince that no one ever dare to messed with.
Not until a new fat kid transfer to their school this semester and tries to mess up with Xenon.
"You can go." Xenon said to Glenda.
Xenon hates it when Glenda or his driver would watch him over the whole day so Glenda always limit herself to wait for Xenon outside the school because that's what the young master wants.
As soon as Xenon enters his classroom, the fat kid named Joshua and his minions starts mocking him,
"Look it's the yOunG mAsterr, Xenon!" The kid Joshua said in a mocking tone and then they laugh.
Xenon glare at them but he decided to ignote them and head to his seat.
"Guess who's coming later for the PTA meeting? It's my mom and dad!"
Xenon heard some of his classmates talking about the coming PTA meeting later this after.
He heard one of his male classmate is teasing one of his female classmate,
"Stop it!! I will tell my Dad later that you put bubblegum in my chair!!" The girl hissed.
Xenon roll his eyes upon hearing those childish threats... For Xenon, those are useless empty words. Everyone seems to be happy that their parents are going to school for the meeting, except for Xenon because never in his life that Xander pops up and attend any of his school affairs.
'What's so special about the PTA meeting anyways?' he ask to himself.
He decided to sleep on his desk ans turn on his airpods to listen to some music instead of listening his classmates childish acts.
Minutes later, their homeroom teacher arrived and the class starts... Although Xenon is a lonely kid, he don't interact with his classmate and always prefer to be alone, but in terms of class participation, Xenon never fails to excel and always rank one to quizes and exams.
Xenon starts his education at the age of three, and now at the age of seven, he is already in 2nd grade, always the VIP student of the whole school who ranks #1. Even teachers and principals don't mind his attitude since he's the smartest student in the academy, and besides, he is the sole heir of the Lincoln Group.
At 11:30 AM, the class ends with a quiz in Mathematics, and as usual, after they check their paper, the only one who got a perfect score is...
"Xenon. 20/20, wow. Give Xenon a round of applause everyone." their homeroom teacher announces and the class clap their hands for Xenon.
"Okay, class dismiss, you may now clean up your things and wait for your parents outside, kids." their teacher said and the whole class yell in excitement.
Xenon cleared his desk until the fat kid Joshua walk over his direction and said,
"What's the point of excelling too much when your parents doesn't even appreciate your hardwork.. Ppffft!!" he uttered and laugh,
Xenon's aura has darken, and walk out to head on the playground,
Glenda saw Xenon and get his bag, "Young master, here's your lunch box." Glenda offers as they both sit in the school cafeteria.
"Is Dad at home?" Xenon ask in a low and sad tone all of the sudden.
He heard that his Dad would be back friday morning from his business trip.
"U-Uhm he arrived safely earlier, young master, but I heard h-he is currently on his way to the company. There must be a problem on the company, young master. Please understand." Glenda said in a very convincing tone.
Xenon didn't answer and just stare into his lunch box.
'Why can't he give me a glimpse of his time...?" Xenon ask in his mind referring to his Dad.
He sighs, it annoys him how the academy's tradition to call a PTA meeting with the parents together with the kids listening to them.
He badly wants to go home, as he doesn't want to be a laughing stock in front of his classmates that it's still his nanny who attends the parents-teachers meeting.
FAST FORWARD
Lunch break is over and at exactly 1:00 PM, Xenon and his nanny Glenda enter their classroom, and all eyes were at him.
"This meeting should be call PTNA meeting, don't you think?" the fat Joshua started.
"PTNA?" one of his male classmate asks,
"Parents, Teachers, Nanny Association meeting, HAHAHAHA." Joshua answered and his group of friends laugh from the back.
Xenon clenched his fist upon hearing such tease, he heard the parents of the fat kid Joshua warned him to stay quiet but the kid still continued to mock Xenon. He was about to stoop down and attack his classmate Joshua but good thing the homeroom teacher arrives and greet them all with a smile.
"Hello, class. Hello, our dear beautiful and handsome parents." their teacher greeted.
"Look at those big and wide smiles my pupils' are wearing on their faces. Are you that happy to see your parents right now?" she asks.
"Yes, teacherrr~" the class said in chorus.
"So, shall we begin with our agenda for today---" The teacher was about to start the meeting but then she wasn't be able to continue her words when the class door opens,
Xenon's eyes widen upon seeing the woman standing infront of the doorway.
It is Shannica, she was catching her breath as if she rushed over the classroom to catch up with the meeting. She is wearing a white pointed four inches heels, and wore a white bodycon dress, with a matching white pouch. She looks so elegant and beautiful from her outfit herself.
"I-It's Madame Shannica..." Glenda said in a low tone that only Xenon hears.
"W-What is she doing here..?" Xenon uttered in surprise.
"I'm sorry. The traffic was heavy. Am I late already?" she asks the homeroom teacher, and everyone's attention is on her.
"Uhm.. May I ask whose parent are you, miss...?" the homeroom teacher ask.
"Oh right..." Shannica walks in front of everyone and look for Xenon's direction.
She smile widely and,
"Sorry for the late introduction. I'm Shannica Lincoln. I'm Xenon's mom. Nice to meet you all." she introduced herself, staring seriously at Xenon.
From that very moment, Xenon felt so flusttered and even him can't take his eyes off to Shannica, he should be annoyed right now, but weird enough, Xenon felt the opposite. He felt a weird feeling of comfort that is new for him.
The whole classroom starts whispering around but Shannica didn't even care.
She faces the homeroom teacher and added to her speech,
".... From now on, I will be attending Xenon's future school events and activities. You can contact me, in behalf of my husband." she added and hand over her business card.
Xenon watch Shannica walk towards his direction with a wide smile on her face. For him, it felt like the whole world was on slow motion as one of his long time wish has been granted all of the sudden.
A desperate wish everytime he's on tight situation, a wish that he never thought it would be possible to fulfill....
And that wish is that 'someone will appear and introduce herself as my mom...'
"Can I sit beside you?" Shannica ask Xenon. He didn't respond but he let her sit beside her.
Today, Shannica introduced herself as Xenon's mom. Xenon might not show it to her, but deep inside, something inside his frozen heart melted away because of Shannica's warm surprise....
She begins to fill up the empty space that Xenon has been craving all his life...
