Chapter 119 Bound by Soul
Chapter 119 Bound by Soul
\- Queen Heminica’s POV -
I opened my eyes, slowly waking up with a slight soreness between my thighs. Goodness… why do I feel so tired? I wondered as I turned to the side.
My eyes widened instantly when I saw Simone sleeping beside me, his chest rising and falling in a peaceful rhythm. My heart skipped a beat as memories from last night flooded my mind, making my cheeks burn with an intense heat. Oh… we had mated last night. We had shared ourselves completely, and now the memory made my heart race, my pulse quicken, and my body shiver with remembered pleasure.
I stared at his sleeping face, and a soft sigh of contentment escaped me. He looked like an angel fallen from the heavens, so perfect, so serene. And he was mine… mine alone. The thought alone made my chest swell with a mix of possessiveness and affection I had never felt so strongly before.
I raised my hand carefully, my fingers trembling slightly as I traced along the lines of his face—starting at his thick eyelashes, brushing down to the bridge of his pointed nose, and finally resting on his rosy lips. I stopped there, my breath catching. Damn… his lips. I could never forget how they had moved over my body last night, the softness, the warmth, the way they ignited every nerve ending in my body. I felt my cheeks flame with embarrassment as I realized what I was doing.
Suddenly, my eyes met his, and I froze. Two deep black eyes stared back at me... those familiar, piercing eyes that held all the love, desire, and mischief I knew so well. I quickly withdrew my fingers, my heart hammering in my chest.
He smirked, an almost devilish smile that made my stomach flutter. “I know I’m handsome… and I’m all yours,” he said huskily, pulling me into a hug and nuzzling against me like a child seeking comfort. He sniffed my scent once more before sinking back into his peaceful slumber.
Oh… how I wanted this moment to last forever. To feel him close, to hold him, to inhale his scent and never let go. But I knew we couldn’t linger too long. I watched him sleep for a moment, his chest rising and falling, his features relaxed and completely unguarded. “You have to go now, Simone,” I whispered softly.
He shook his head, pouting adorably as he tightened his hold around me. Oh, how cute he could be, even in the most mischievous ways.
I sighed, trying to sound firm despite the warmth spreading through me. “Get up now, or someone might see you here,” I said, though a part of me hated to disturb him.
“They already know I’m here,” he replied casually, as if it were nothing to worry about.
I blinked, confused. “What do you mean?”
His eyes opened slowly, those mesmerizing gray eyes locking onto mine. My heart beat faster, and I felt a flutter deep in my stomach. “When you were in heat last night,” he said, his voice low and intimate, “your scent was so strong that the Kingdom could feel it. And when your strong scent disappeared… they knew we had mated.”
I could feel my face heating to a bright red, my hands trembling slightly. “It’s still dawn,” he continued, a mischievous smile curling his lips. “You can rest… or, if you want… we could have another round.”
My hand shot out and punched his bare chest, utterly embarrassed. “Stop it!” I exclaimed, though I couldn’t hide the rapid beating of my heart. “Tch… I’ll go back to sleep.” I nuzzled closer into his side, feeling the comfort of him against me, the warmth of his body pressing into mine.
He chuckled softly, and my pulse went into overdrive. The thought of him, the memory of last night, and the mischievous smile on his face made my heart race and my butterflies whirl uncontrollably. The Kingdom knew I had mated with the Vampire King, and I couldn’t even hide my blush from him.
“Heminica, are you ready?” my sister Helena’s voice called as she entered my room.
She had arrived at the Kingdom just last week, but the most surprising thing was that she was not alone. Her child and her mate, Dennis Rigador, the Alpha of the Rigador Clan had come with her. I was amazed that they had already reconciled, that fate had found a way to bring them back together. After so many years of separation, only a chance reunion had reignited the love that had always existed in their hearts. Truly, nothing could stop the bond of souls destined by the gods.
“I’m getting ready,” I replied, smiling as the maid arranged the hem of my wedding dress, straightening the scattered fabric across the floor.
I stared at myself in the mirror, marveling at the beauty of the dress. It complimented my pale, lifeless skin perfectly. The white fabric with silver embroidery shimmered softly, the off-shoulder design emphasizing my delicate collarbones. My long hair fell straight down my back, accentuating the elegance of my features. A delicate crystal diamond tiara adorned my head, and I wore a simple white necklace with a butterfly pendant, along with two-inch diamond earrings.
I barely recognized myself. This was the real me now—a queen, a woman with responsibilities, privileges, and power. I had to accept it. I had to embrace this version of myself, because this was who I had become, and it defined me, defined the man I loved.
Through the mirror, I saw Helena’s reflection behind me, smiling warmly. She held my hand, giving me a gentle squeeze. “You look stunning, my dear sister,” she said.
I smiled in return, reaching for her hand. “You too, my twin,” I said softly. Her red dress brought out the warmth of her skin, making her glow with life. The contrast between us was striking, I, pale and immortal; she, vibrant and alive, but I am content with who I am. My pale skin, my eternal life… they were part of me now, part of the woman Simone loved.
“He’s waiting for you,” Helena said gently. “Shall we go?”
I took a deep breath, gathering my nerves, and nodded. “Let’s go.”
As we walked toward the venue, my heart raced uncontrollably. My hands were icy, my pulse thrumming so loudly it drowned out all other sounds. The beach resort before us stretched with soft golden sand, gentle waves rolling in rhythm, and a warm yet crisp breeze brushing my skin. The air seemed to echo the turbulence inside me... excitement, nervousness, longing, and anticipation all mingling together.
The music started, signaling the beginning of the ceremony. Yet, I could hear nothing but the rapid beating of my own heart. My palms were clammy as I clasped them together, trying to calm my nerves. Was this how brides were supposed to feel? The anticipation, the excitement, the fear of what was about to happen… it was overwhelming.
Then, as if by instinct, I felt a warm hand slip into mine. I looked down to see my father smiling at me, his eyes gentle and reassuring. He took my hand, placing it carefully on his arm. “Hold on to me, my daughter,” he said softly.
I drew in a deep breath, letting his strength and presence steady me. Today was not only my wedding, it was the merging of werewolves and vampires, a symbol of peace in the Supernatural World. Today was a new beginning, not only for me and Simone but for all of our kind.
I glanced at the horizon, the waves glinting in the early sun, and felt the enormity of what was about to happen. My heart was bursting with so many emotions: love, longing, pride, and an unshakable desire to finally be with Simone as my mate, my husband, my everything.
No matter what happened from this moment forward, I knew one thing for certain.Simone and I were bound by more than just love. We were soulmates, destined to face every challenge, every danger, and every joy together. And as I prepared to walk down the aisle, I knew that nothing could ever break the bond between us.
