Chapter 109 The Feared Alpha

Chapter 109 The Feared Alpha
\- Third Person’s POV -
A ruthless-looking man sat in his office, eyes buried in the pile of papers on his desk. He was handsome and well-postured, his presence commanding the room. Over the years, he had grown even stronger, his body sculpted with firm muscles, his abs sharper than before.
The office itself reflected his authority.
Dark wooden walls.
A wide desk polished to a mirror shine.
Shelves filled with thick records of pack laws and territory maps.
A large window stood behind him, open to the cold mountain air, allowing the scent of pine and earth to drift inside.
He did not notice the beauty of it.
For more than five years, he drowned himself in work.
Managing his pack.
Handling endless paperwork.
Leading with authority.
Settling disputes.
Training warriors.
Guarding borders.
He kept his life busy, always on the move, yet no matter what he did… his mind was always invaded by thoughts of someone.
Someone he had been searching for endlessly.
Her.
He never stopped searching, not even for a day.
Despite the weight of his duties, despite the countless battles he had fought, he ordered his men to scour every land, every border, every corner of the world.
Mountains.
Cities.
Ports.
Hidden villages.
Even the human world.
Yet, there was still no news.
No clue.
No trace.
Sometimes, a part of him whispered to give up.
To stop torturing himself.
To accept that she was gone.
To accept that the bond had broken with her death.
But then his chest would ache, and the bond inside him would remind him.
His love for her was stronger than reason, stronger than time.
He couldn’t let her go.
He never would.
His fingers tightened around the paper he was holding until it crumpled.
“Where the hell are you, Helena?” he muttered under his breath, his voice breaking for just a moment.
The name lingered in the air like a wound that never healed.
Silence followed.
Only the rustle of paper and the distant howl of wolves outside filled the room.
The pack was alive. Strong. Loyal.
Everything he had built stood firm.
Everything... except his heart.
He closed his eyes briefly, leaning back in his chair. For a moment, exhaustion seeped into his bones. Nights without sleep. Days without rest. Years without peace.
He saw her face behind his eyelids.
Her eyes.
Her voice.
The way she once looked at him, not as an Alpha, not as a ruler, but as a man.
His chest tightened.
Suddenly, the wind blew strongly through the open window behind him.
The curtains snapped sharply.
Papers fluttered off the desk, scattering across the floor.
The air shifted.
His body stiffened instantly.
He froze.
His heart pounded like thunder inside his chest as a very familiar aura clung to the air.
Her aura.
It was faint.
Faint as a whisper carried by the wind.
But undeniable.
His mate.
The bond inside him flared, wild and unstoppable, as if screaming her name. Heat spread through his chest, down his spine, into his veins. His wolf stirred violently inside him, pacing, clawing, desperate.
Mine.
The word echoed in his mind like a roar.
He felt her.
After all these years—
he felt her.
Alive.
His chair scraped back as he stood abruptly, the harsh sound echoing across the room. His feet rooted to the floor, as if afraid to move and break the fragile connection.
His hands trembled.
Not from fear.
From hope.
For the first time in years, his pulse was racing uncontrollably, and his breath trembled between fear and… hope.
Hope was dangerous.
Hope could destroy a man.
He had learned that the hard way.
Hope had kept him searching.
Hope had kept him alive.
Hope had also hollowed him out, year by year.
But now—
the bond burned like fresh fire.
Not memory.
Not illusion.
Not longing.
Her.
Alive.
Somewhere close.
He turned slowly toward the open window, his sharp eyes scanning the distant tree line. The mountains stretched endlessly, their peaks hidden by mist. The forest below swayed under the cold wind, shadows moving like restless spirits.
“Helena…” he whispered.
The name no longer sounded broken.
It sounded alive.
The door banged open.
His Beta burst in, sweat dripping down his face, his chest rising and falling as if he had run the entire field.
The sudden intrusion shattered the fragile moment, but the bond remained—burning, pulling, alive.
“What’s wrong, Will?” The Alpha’s voice was firm, but his heart was trembling inside him. A part of him feared the answer, while another part felt an excitement he could barely control.
Beta Will bowed his head in respect, struggling to steady his breath.
“Alpha Dennis, an unknown being crossed the Eastern border,” he reported.
The words struck like lightning.
Eastern border.
The pull in his chest tightened sharply, like an invisible chain yanking him in that direction.
Dennis didn’t waste a second.
He snatched his leather jacket from the desk and stormed toward the door, his movements sharp and decisive.
“Gather the men. We’re heading East.”
His voice left no room for question, no hesitation.
Will straightened immediately. “Yes, Alpha!”
As the Beta rushed to obey, Dennis paused for a fraction of a second at the doorway.
His hand curled into a fist.
The bond pulsed again.
Stronger.
Closer.
Not memory.
Not longing.
Her.
Somewhere in the East… someone was waiting.
