CHAPTER 119: RESCUE MISSION (2)

Olexa and her men took their positions, having their weapons drawn at Roweena. Roweena stood calmly, as though she wasn't afraid of them.

"Was she not the witch with those bastards that attacked Moonville?" one of the men asked, keenly looking at Roweena.

"You're right! It definitely her," another affirmed. "I will recognize that face even if I were drunk."

Roweena chuckled softly. "I get that a lot you know. So I will not feel offended."

"How dare you deny such a thing?" the first man who recognized the Roweena asked, fuming.

"I can assure you, it was not me you saw," Roweena responded calmly.

"You bloody liar!" the men were angered beyond control, so they rushed at her, attacking her with their blades. Olexa couldn't do anything to stop them as the attack was unexpected and swift.

As they attempted to strike Roweena, she magically caused their hands to remain frozen in the air. They looked at their frozen hands with wide eyes, and struggled to pull them down, but they were stuck in the air, immovable.

The others rushed at Roweena in an attempt to attack her.

"Enough!" Olexa roared, causing them to stop. They turned and looked at Olexa, wondering why she interfered.

"She's telling the truth. It wasn't her," Olexa said. Her people were weakened when they heard that.

"She only looks like her younger sister. Isn't that right, Roweena?" Olexa asked, stepping forward towards Roweena.

"That's right," Roweena answered. "I see you do know who I am. And you all must be from the community in the wastelands. Or am I mistaken?"

"You're right. We are. So you should know why we're here," Olexa replied.

"I do. But as you can see, you can't get in. Well, not with the class of witches you have here," Roweena stated.

"Well, it looks like it's not going to be too big of a deal for a class of witch like you then," Olexa said, gesturing with her hand towards the door.

Roweena smiled, and flicked her fingers, releasing the two men. They sighed in relief, gaining balance with their feet.

She approached the door and looked at the symbols inscribed onto the wall. She sighed and looked at Olexa.

"The spell used is an old spell. It is over a thousand years old, used during the Lycan wars."

"The Lycan wars?" Tully asked, looking perplexed, and a bit terrified.

"What was it used for?" Mona enquired.

"To imprison True Bloods," Olexa answered, coldly.

Their eyes all widened in shock.

"Are you saying, behind this wall, there could be True Bloods?"

"Wait, what are True Bloods?" Mona asked, looking confused.

Everyone turned and looked at her, surprised.

"What? I've only heard the name in passing. But no one ever said anything about them to me," she shrugged.

"They are the first werewolves to ever exist. The last of the kind were killed over a thousand years ago, during the Lycan wars," Tully rightly summarized.

"Oh, shit! Now I get it," Mona finally understood why the rest were terrified at the possibility of the True Bloods being behind them.

"Regardless, can you open it?" Olexa asked Roweena.

"I can. But are you ready for what may be in there?" she responded.

"Yes, we are," Olexa replied with assurance. She looked around, and they all nodded in agreement.

"Okay then," Roweena accepted. "Please step back."

The people gave way for her and she stood before the door and touched the symbols in a certain order. With every touch, it glowed, responding to her.

Then, she closed her eyes and began chanting an incantation.

While Roweena was busy, Tully drew closer to Olexa and asked her a question.

"Can she be trusted?"

"We can trust her."

"How do you know that?"

"I just do."

Olexa was strangely at peace with Olexa. She knew that peace wasn't for nothing.

Roweena continued the chant and the symbols glowed brighter and brighter, until the light vanished, and the boulder parted open slightly.

Roweena sighed in relief, and exhaled from the strain of breaking the spell.

"You can go in now."

"Thank you," Olexa said and signaled with a nod of head to her people that they go in. One after the other, they quietly snuck in, pushing the boulder in to make more room for them.

As Olexa was about to enter, Roweena grabbed her by the arm.

"I believe our paths shall cross once again, in the nearest future."

Olexa looked at her and said nothing in reply. She simply just walked into the cave as Mona and Tully followed her in.

Roweena sighed and walked out. As she was outside, she chanted a spell over the place and left, into the dark of the night.

The inner cave was dark and dingy. The only visibility there was from an opening hundreds of meters away.

They were greeted with a foul smell which characterized the atmosphere, causing them to hold their breaths at some points, despite the fact that their faces including their noses were closed.

Olexa observed and saw that the cave was excavated intentionally, for whatever wicked intention the ones using the cave were using it for.

Olexa and Tully were able to observe the dark cave with their enhanced vision and saw that cells were built at various levels of the cave. And they saw that a couple of soldiers kept watch at the various levels within the cave.

Olexa whispered the plan to Tully, and he communicated it with hand signals to the rest. They nodded in acknowledgment and spread out.

They all took proceeded to the levels accordingly and waited for Olexa's signal again.

But Olexa looked and wondered how the werewolves were yet not able to sense them. But she was grateful they couldn't.

She drew her arrow, along with Mona, and shot two werewolves right through their heads instantly killing them. The people knew it was their signal and launched their attack on the werewolves.

The werewolves were caught off guard and were a bit disoriented and confused. But eventually, a heated battle ensued.

The men fought bravely and strategically, fueled by a thirst for vengeance over the death of their families and community.

They fought and emerged victorious, killing all the soldiers that were there. They didn't have time to fully transform as the attack was a surprise attack.

Olexa and the people searched through the cells and found the people whom they had abducted. They hugged each other, crying for joy. It was quite an emotional reunion.

"Are we all here? Is anyone missing?" Olexa asked.

"They took two of us. We don't know where they took them to," one of them answered.

"What's been going on here? What were they doing to the people? And where are the True Bloods?" Mona asked.

The freed captives looked at her, not knowing how to answer her.

"What's more important is that we get the heck out of here now. Reinforcements may be here any moment now," Olexa said, and they made haste, leaving the cave, and making a run for it into the woods.

As they left the cave, Roweena watched them from a height, smiling.
