Chapter 55

"I knew you'd find me!" Rossalyn said as she pressed herself into Josiah's chest.

She'd nearly had a heart attack when the door burst open pulling her from a dead sleep. She'd been nearly across the whole bed to the wall before she realized it was their men that had made it to her. She watched as one held a gun to her guard's head while two others beckoned to her to come out. She hadn't needed told twice. She freed herself from the tangle of blankets and rapidly exited the hotel room. It hadn't taken long to find Josiah watching for her and she bee lined straight to him.

"I want you to wait in the vehicle for me. I won't be long, I promise." Josiah told her after he'd pulled back from her enough to look her from head to toe as if he was checking for any injury or mistreatment.

"No! Please don't leave me here." Ross said, she'd looked over her shoulder and seen that there were men pulling George from the hotel room that was next to the one she'd been kept in.

"I have to deal with this. I'll be back in a few." Josiah promised and opened the back door of the SUV for her to get into.

Once he had her secured, he gestured to the two men that had escorted her from the room to stand guard outside the SUV. He walked over to the group of men that were surrounding George's force. His men parted enough for him to make his way to the front of them. He stood there and just stared at George for a few minutes, just letting the rage he was feeling run through his veins. Once he was sure he could speak without his voice shaking with emotion he addressed the group of men before him.

"There have been things done here that require an answer. So what is going to happen is we're all going back to Arizona. I would prefer we do this as cooperatively as possible." Josiah said as he looked at each of George's men in turn before landing on George, meeting his eyes. "But I'll have no issue causing as much pain as cooperation takes."

"You can't do anything to me. We have a peace agreement." George said, a nasty tone in his voice.

"That agreement was voided the moment you kidnapped my wife and child. Not to mention my sister-in-law and her children." Josiah snapped angrily. "Get them loaded into the vehicles. George will fly with me and Rossalyn. The rest of you can drive the vehicles back home. Make sure they're restrained." Josiah said then gave another long look around at George's men. "If anyone has any plans of being less than cooperative, I fear that man may not make it back to Arizona in one piece. Bring him." The last command was issued to Bart who had been standing guard over George through the confrontation.

Bart yanked on George's arm making him walk forward to get into the SUV behind where Josiah was heading. Within twenty minutes everyone was loaded into the SUVs and pulling out of the hotel parking lot. Josiah pulled Rossalyn next to him in the back seat so that there would be room for one of their men to sit back there with them while another sat in the front seat. It would be a long drive for most of the men to return, but George would be in their jail cell for hours to contemplate the level of mistake he made for most of the duration.

Hours later the SUV pulled up to the steps to the front of their mansion. Josiah helped Rossalyn out of the vehicle before heading to the SUV that had followed them to give instructions about where to place George. He knew he couldn't take any kind of action without approval of the dons because of the position he held. But nothing was to say that he couldn't hold him until the trial was completed. He'd be required to treat him well, but that wasn't a hardship. He wasn't a monster who treated prisoners like trash in any case.

Josiah led Rossalyn into the house and came to a sudden halt when Sarah was waiting for them and immediately pulled Rossalyn into a hard hug startling her for a moment. Sarah was crying relieved tears to have Rossalyn back home. Rossalyn had heretofore kept her emotions under control, other than the tears that happened when Josiah first got there to retrieve her. After a moment Sarah pulled back and let the twins have a turn at hugging their aunt.

"Lets go have a seat and a conversation. I haven't told Rossalyn about everything yet and there are some decisions she needs to make before anything can proceed. I suggest the twins go play outside or up in the room." Josiah told Sarah with a meaningful look. Josiah looked around and found Chelsea there, though he wasn't that surprised since she would be anxious for news of Rossalyn.

"I'll take them, they can play with my kids out back." She offered, giving Sarah a reassuring smile as she held her hands out for the twins to take. Sarah nodded though she looked anxious to have them leave her sight.

"They'll be fine, I promise." Josiah assured her.

"I know. I am just having a hard time letting them out of my sight after everything that happened the other day." Sarah sighed but once Chelsea disappeared out the back door, Sarah led the way down the hall to the entertainment room Rossalyn preferred to relax in.

Once everyone had settled into seats Rossalyn looked around and seen them looking extremely uncomfortable. It was making her extremely nervous to see them looking at each other as if they were getting ready to tell her someone had an incurable illness or something. "Just tell me whatever it is that you're dreading telling me. I'm starting to imagine the worst here."

"It was Roger." Sarah said, the words running together as if she was dreading saying the words and wanted to get it over with as quickly as possible.

"What was Roger?" Rossalyn asked, confused. It was a mark of her hope for a better future for her brother that she hadn't immediately lept to the conclusion that he was responsible for what she had just went through.

"Roger was the one who set everything up for you to be kidnapped. He had been passing intel to George for God only knows how long before all of this went down." Josiah told her, taking the hit to explain what happened.

"Where is he?" Rossalyn asked feeling a wash of cold run through her veins.

"He's in a cell at the back of the property." Josiah said.

"What are you planning to do to him to make him answer for all of this?" Rossalyn asked looking from Sarah to Josiah raising an eyebrow.

"Well, that is up to you. He's your brother and the cause for what you just went through. I know you're happy in our marriage now, but he's the whole reason you're even in this situation because of the choices he made and forced you to do. The only option that is not on the table is letting him go." Josiah said, glancing over at Sarah to see a steal glint in her eye that was being echoed in Rossalyn's glare.

"I want to see him." Rossalyn said and stood, expecting to immediately humored.

"Right now?" Josiah asked, a little shocked.

"Yes, you'll learn his fate when I tell him. I want to look him in the eye and tell him what he's to face for everything he's put this family through." Rossalyn said then held her hand out to Sarah for her to follow her out. "I'm not the only one he's hurt."
