Chapter 19

Pain. Mild pain was the first feeling that greeted me as I slowly revived back to consciousness. My vision was hazy and gradually adjusting to the yellow lights. My arms and legs were chained with silver to the wooden chair I was seated on. I could feel the chains mercilessly burning my skin whenever they touched. There was also a drip like tube passed into my hands while wolfsbane slowly crawled its way from a tank into my system. Two of Werewolves dangerous weakness were being bestowed to me for a reason I knew not.

My head raged with a migraine, my muscles were weakening and aching from the poison entertaining my system. My breaths were receding, touring out weak and unsteady. I tried to fight against this pain, to break from the clutches of chains and poison but unfortunately, my body had already failed to yield to that resolve.

The last I remembered was seeing Jerry at my doorstep and getting hit with goodness knows what.

"Wakie wakie..." I heard an all too familiar voice hum devilishly. It was Jerry! I couldn't see him properly neither did my werewolf senses work, but I recognized that voice either ways.

"Jerry!" I yelled but in reality, my voice came out in a whimper. My heart started racing, thumping louder with every second. Everything happening here was a mystery I greatly desired to unravel.

"Why am I here? You're hurting me." I asked in a weak voice, but he laughed a sinister laugh. He only doused me in confusion further. He was supposed to be my friend, he was supposed to be in prison! Or perhaps he escaped. Then why was he punishing me?!

"I am the Lycan's daughter. If anything happens to me,"

"Shut up!" He growled as he appeared in my front with werewolf speed. Gripping my jaw with iron fist and fierce breaths grazing my cheeks. My vision was still blurry, but I could tell his eyes were hungry. Boring holes at me like a predator.

"This is my territory and unfortunately, Daddy's not going to save his little girl." He mocked.

"W-why are you doing this?!" I cried as his grip started to birth pain on my skin.

"You wanna know?" He growled again with his face, even closer. "I'm doing this for revenge, Revenge!" He barked as he let go. My body quivered as those words ran a cold feeling in my spine.

"R-revenge?" I stuttered tearfully. "What did I do wrong?"

"You did nothing wrong darling." He toned softly. "I'm just using you to hurt that pathetic bastard, that son of a traitor who calls himself Alpha!" He yelled with so much disgust and anger that my breaths ceased for a split moment.

"Kevin!" I managed to say. "He showed you mercy is this how you're supposed to pay him back?" I questioned.

"That bastard killed my Father; he took everything I had and above all he stole my mate!" Jerry hollered in response. "Killing him would be nearly impossible for me but then one little bird told me you're his mate!" He giggled devilishly again. "Since I can't hurt him physically then why don't I break him emotionally!"

"Jerry—"

"I always wanted you Claire!" He cut me off sharply. "I crave your body and perhaps a part of me had wished you were my mate but then the moon goddess, in the infinity of her wisdom had to mate you to a pathetic being like that!" He blared as he gestured around me. "What a shame that the daughter of the Lycan is mated to a Rogue Alpha, a despised son of a traitor!"

My mouth opened but no words could escape. Tears freely streamed across my cheek. The wolfsbane in my system was already killing me, making me writhe in pain and restlessness. I was in mortal danger all because of a hatred bond I knew nothing about!

"This is my chance, Claire. The perfect plan to finally shatter Kevin." He growled as he neared me again, his finger slowly running its way from my cheek down to my neck and to my chest.

"I'm going to fill your system with wolfsbane so that you become so weak and I can enjoy this irresistible body of yours." He whispered as his fingers caressed my breasts.

"Jerry stop this madness! You're more than this!" I cried but he didn't bulge. Instead, he carried on with his lustful talks.

"And after I've fucked your brains out, do you know what's going to befall you?" He whispered by my ear. "Death."

My breaths hung in my throat as another warm tear trickled. My body didn't shiver but it turned stone cold from his last word. I was going to die no doubt, a gruesome death with nobody to save me. If death had chosen this way to visit me, this wasn't what I deserved. Tears continued to stream like a river as I watched Jerry giggle away into the unknown. All I could do at this point, was hope for a miracle.

KEVIN

I jolted awake from my bed, all sweaty and panting. I turned to my window above my bed and all I could see was the moon hung brightly amongst the stars. Everything looked perfect but they weren't. Something was wrong. I could feel it, Lupus was in extreme unrest and worry about my mate. As if something horrible had happened to her. I tried to feel our mate bond, but there was nothing. Like she wasn't in Greenville at all. And on that note, I alighted from my bed in a jiffy, hastily wearing a red T- shirt over my pair of ash knickers. I stormed out of my room while my heart began to pick pace. My head started to entertain several negative thoughts as I reached outdoors.

I unlocked one of the Jeeps parked in the parking lot before sauntering in impatiently. Without further thoughts, I drove like a mad man. Trotting at a dangerous pace to Claire's apartment. Perhaps this was all a nightmare, but I still needed to see her face. To know she's not in mortal danger.

Immediately I arrived, her environment was as dead as a burial ground. Well, it was midnight, but I still felt the aura of eeriness. I paced to her door sharply, knocking impatiently.

"Claire!" I yelled hoping the lights would turn on and her door would open only for her to yell. But none of these happened. I kept on banging on her door with trembly hands and when I couldn't take it anymore, I kicked her door open!

My eyes exclaimed in horror as I gasped. My legs almost failed me from the bloody stain inches away from her doorstep. My body shivered as if cold stormed against me. It was like a bomb exploded within me. I couldn't breathe properly; my eyes were twitching and my head entertaining several painful thoughts. I looked to her room and ran there, hoping I would find her, but she was nowhere!

Tears soaked my eyes as I stopped in front of the gory scene again. This wasn't a nightmare; this was real Life!

My mate had been abducted. She was far away from me, writhing in pain. Amidst my pants, my trembly hand slipped out my phone. I dialed Gabriel's number as I continued shivering whilst battling my tears from trickling.

"G-Gabriel!" I stuttered while I wobbled out of her apartment. "I need every boundaries of Greenville to be on total lockdown and each commander of different regions should report to the Pack House immediately!" I ordered before jumping into my vehicle, driving once again, like a mad man.

As I arrived Pack house, I stormed into the building with anger, pain and fear all intertwined. There they were all standing with concerned expressions decorating their faces. Four commanders, Gabriel, and Rose.

"What happened?!" Gabriel was first to ask as he approached me.

"My mate has been abducted!" My loud voice echoed throughout the room and immediately Gabriel's countenance was struck in horror. The commanders burst into indistinctive chatter which infuriated me more.

"This is not the time to be murmuring words of surprise, my mate has been abducted and with every second that passes she's suffering!" I barked and immediately their lips sealed shut as they bowed their heads.

"Kevin you need to calm down, we'll go for thorough search around the Pack, I'm sure we will find her." Gabriel tried to assure but his words sounded like foolishness to my ears.

"She's not in our Pack!" I cried, my voice shaky and my body trembling in unison. "I can feel it, she's not in our Pack. I saw blood stains in her apartment Gabriel, what if, what if." He held my lips together, holding my gaze firmly. I could see it in his eyes, he was scared too but he tried to remain logical as possible unlike me.

"Nothing will happen to her Kevin. We will find the bastard who took her." He assured me in a soft tone before glaring at my commanders.

"I want you all to give me complete report of every member, every visitor, every vehicle that crossed our Pack boundaries today!" He ordered in an overly authoritative voice. The commanders shared confused glances with each other for a while before one of them finally stepped up.

"Today we had no visitor of sorts, neither did we record any member leaving Greenville." He said.

"Except one person," another added, and I glared sharply.

"Jerry and a bunch of friends who left in a red Lexus car this afternoon."

My heart skipped a beat as I heard those words. I stared in disbelief at Rose. Whose face wasn't any different.

"Oh my God!" Gabriel exclaimed. My hands curled into a fist as my chest heaved up and down. I couldn't even begin to think what my step Cousin was doing to my mate. But I knew why he did all this, revenge!

"Gather my finest army!" I pronounced in the iciest manner, my eyes glowering. "We're going on a hunt for that bastard."

"Yes Alpha!" They blared and immediately stormed out. I did same too, pacing towards my vehicle alongside Gabriel.

"Alpha!" Rose's voice pitched as she came out, tear filled.

"Please whatever you're going to do, don't kill him." She pleaded while she fell on her knees. I could feel Gabriel's eyes on me, but I wasn't going to be soft.

"He crossed the line Rose; I can't assure you anything." I stated through gritted teeth before hopping into my vehicle.

Our drive was a silent one as we journeyed in the dark, past forests and twigs. I for one, kept on shivering and praying to the moon goddess my mate should be safe. Gabriel on the other hand, chose to maintain silence perhaps not to infuriate me further.

I marched on the brakes instantly causing the Jeep to halt abruptly.

"What's wrong?" Gabriel asked but I alighted from the vehicle, trying to trace the honey scent the wind shove on my face earlier before. I could feel it, she was nearby. She was in great pain, crying and helpless. I could feel everything all.

"Seriously Kevin, what's going on?!" Gabriel queried again as he joined my side.

"I found her." I muttered and without thoughts, I ran with the highest speed my wolf could give. Brushing past branches, crunching twigs, storming against the solemn wind till I arrived a clear area. A red car parked in front of an old building.

"The Alpha is here!" Jerry's minions screamed; only then did I realize there were five of them growling at me with glowing golden yellow eyes.

The anger within me rekindled like brimstone fire, my fingers elongated into long black claws, my eyes morphed into a threatening golden yellow. My nose flared while my ears elongated into a thinner shape. I lurched at them without mercy. Ripping the head of the first, pulling out the heart of the second, breaking the neck of the third while the other two, ran away.

I smashed the door open, walking in like a predator I was. My eyes exclaimed while it reverted back to its Hazel. My claws retracted too as Jerry swiftly clung unto my mate. Holding a knife to Claire's throat.

"If you move from that position, I assure you I'll slit her throat." He threatened but I cared less about what he sputtered. Claire's tears and pain were all that mattered. Her eyes were red from sobbing, her body looked pale and weak. I wasn't even sure if she could speak properly. I listened to her breaths; they were receding. Her heart wasn't faring so well either. She was dying. My mate was dying.

"Wanna know what I did to her?" Jerry's devilish laugh broke my focus. "Wolfsbane is currently running through her system like blood and very soon, she'll die from this poison." He laughed again, pressuring the knife to her neck.

"I actually planned on tasting her body, you know." He bellowed as his right hand fondled her breast. Grabbing them mercilessly while she whimpered.

"But then you came to ruin that fun now."

"Kevin!" Gabriel's voice protruded the tensioned air as he sauntered into the building. He froze too while Jerry laughed like a possessed being.

"Let her go!" He ordered but Jerry scoffed.

"Your Alpha took everything from me and as if that wasn't enough, he stole my mate."

"A mate that you rejected! Kevin was just trying to help you!" Gabriel retorted.

"Whether I rejected Rose or not, it was none of his business!" He growled but all of their talks seemed to be phasing out of me. I was only focused on my mate, our eyes bonding. It was like my heart had stopped beating and my body was floating in an ocean of anger. My skin was burning like sulfur fire, my breaths came out like a storm, tears trickled across my cheek. This was unacceptable! Not to her. Not to my beloved mate!

The wind suddenly raged against us, my fingers elongated into black claws, my eyes didn't change to Golden yellow. They were different, a sparkling shade of deep red!

I don't know why, but I felt power on a whole new scale. I was a monster, and they could all see it, the redness of my eyes. Jerry gasped in horror, but it was too late. I was going to kill him.

I trotted faster than the winds towards him. Pulling him away from Claire before smashing him to the wooden wall. The walls collapsed to the ground, but I cared less. I pounced on him like a hungry lion, delivering severe death blows to his face. As blood coated my knuckles, I recalled Rose's words, but they weren't enough to stop me.

I wanted to stop but at the same I didn't.

"Kevin." Claire's voice held me back from delivering the final blow to his disfigured face. I turned to her, lying helplessly in Gabriel's arms while my eyes reverted back to its Hazel. I trotted towards both of them, crying like a child. She was going to die if I didn't do something. I carried her in my arms before facing Gabriel.

"Call Uncle Walker, he knows what to do." I mumbled while I walked towards our vehicle.

"Hold on Claire. You'll be fine, I promise." I said in a voice which lacked conviction. I stared at her sweaty face one more time, her eyes were barely opened even her breaths weren't doing so well either.

I only prayed to the mood goddess, to save my dear mate's life.
