Chapter 125 Despair

Chapter 125 Despair
Only one month remains until the end of the year, and yet so much has already happened! And I’m not even talking about the fact that Kirill found me, we got married, confessed our feelings, and are now expecting our baby girl.
Oleg and Valentina, after two months of living together, decided to get married. It wasn’t some huge glamorous wedding for a thousand guests—just a cozy family celebration between two loving hearts and their closest relatives, the ones truly capable of being happy for them.
The entire internet buzzed nonstop about the event, chewing over every detail from every possible angle. But our newlyweds couldn’t care less about other people’s opinions and loud mouths—and that was something I admired deeply.
And the good news doesn’t end there. Today, Marishka came over to visit and shocked me with the news that Viktor proposed to her—and she said yes. I am genuinely so happy for her. Her eyes shine, and she looks incredibly happy with her man. They decided to have the wedding this spring or early summer, once it’s warm enough to wear a beautiful, revealing dress—the one she’s already got her eye on.
“Such an occasion needs to be celebrated!” I happily hug my friend and immediately sit back down. My condition no longer allows me to hop around like a gazelle.
Marina had barely arrived and already dropped the bombshell of her news. We were sitting in the kitchen, drinking tea while I fed the boys—with Alexandra’s help.
“Are you sure? You can barely move with that belly,” my friend asked with a skeptical smile, taking in my state.
“That’s for sure,” I agree with the obvious. “But I still want to celebrate! And you can’t deny a pregnant woman anything!” I stick my tongue out playfully. “We can invite the girls. We’ll buy some yummy treats and celebrate at my place. But first, I need to stop by the office for a couple of minutes, sign some papers, and clarify a few production details. It’ll take twenty minutes at most. Alexandra will stay home with the boys for now,” I smile at the little ones, wiping food off Egor’s chubby cheek.
“Oh stop it!” my friend brightened instantly. “The weather is amazing today! Let’s take the boys with us for a walk!” she suddenly suggested, coming alive. “While you’re in the office, I’ll take them for a stroll in the park nearby. It’ll be a change of scenery for the kids, and a workout for me—Viktor wants kids soon too, after all!”
“You’re right,” I admit—the idea actually sounded great. “Alexandra, you can take the rest of the day off. I think we’ll manage ourselves.”
“Are you sure?” the woman asked quickly. “I don’t mind staying. And in your condition—”
“You need to walk more!” my friend finished for me, causing the nanny to fall silent, pressing her lips together with disapproval.
So we settled it. I called Irina, Dasha, and Valentina. We agreed to meet at my house in about two hours. Then we quickly packed up the boys and got ourselves ready too—and an hour later, Marina was already strolling through the park while I headed up to my office floor.
Sorting out my errands took about forty minutes and quite a few shredded nerve cells. Managing your own production is not easy at all—you have to constantly stay on top of everything so nobody messes anything up.
After finishing my own tasks, I decided to stop by my husband’s office—to complain about the world and get my dose of calming kisses. But as soon as I approached the CEO’s door, I tensed up: Kirill’s secretary was watching me with a worried, uneasy expression. The door to his office wasn’t locked, so I quietly walked in.
I realized instantly that something was wrong. My love was sitting behind his desk, speaking tensely with Mikhail. When he saw me, he tore his gaze away from the conversation and frowned, displeased.
“Vicky? What are you doing here?” my husband stood and walked toward me for a light kiss.
“Did something happen?” I ask anxiously, searching his green eyes.
