Chapter 122 A Gift...
Dasha walked up to me, lightly slipping an arm around my shoulders, and glanced toward the group of men—where her own husband stood.
“The world really is tiny…” she said with a hint of sadness.
“What do you mean?” I smiled.
“Well, we met you—and now that brothers. They’re so similar,” she nodded toward the cluster of men.
“Yes, Kirill and Nazar look very alike and, at the same time, are absolutely different,” I laughed, glancing at my husband. “But they both have good hearts. Even if their brains are full of cockroaches.”
Dasha gave such a knowing little chuckle that I raised a brow. Then she continued:
“Thanks for inviting me to your party. I truly appreciate it—and in a way… I really needed this.” She smiled radiantly. “But we have to head home soon. The babies are asking for mommy. And my mom… well, she’s not exactly young anymore and can’t handle both boys for too long. One is fine—but two?”
“Oh, believe me, I understand,” I laughed, nodding toward my twins. “Does your mother-in-law ever babysit?”
“Oh, please,” Dasha rolled her eyes with a sigh. “That’s a lost cause. She can’t stand me. We don’t talk. She insists I’m a bad influence on her son and that I forbid him from seeing her.”
"You?!" I was genuinely shocked—she was one of the sweetest, warmest people I’d ever met.
“I know, right? Can you imagine?” Dasha huffed. “I actually want them to have a good relationship, but Makar simply doesn’t want to. Because of her, he is the way he is… you know. Honestly, you’re lucky you don’t have a mother-in-law.”
“Maybe…” I murmured. “But I’ll never know it for sure. Though,” I glanced toward the grumpy elder Yartsev, who continued glaring daggers at Valentina’s brother uncle Vanya—completely unaware of who the man actually was, “maybe things will change one day.”
After the celebration, my home was filled with flowers and gifts. My parents, Valentina, and Uncle Vanya stayed with us for the weekend. Marina and Viktor left, saying they wanted to stroll through Kyiv some more and would stay at a hotel. Everyone else headed out, we put the kids to bed, and finally—finally—we were alone together in our cozy bedroom.
“Oh yes, Kirill… more!” I moaned as my husband began massaging my swollen legs, having settled me comfortably on pillows after my shower. “God, this feels amazing!” I rolled my eyes in bliss.
“I can make you feel even better,” Kirill teased, clearly implying sex.
“I know, but I don’t think I have the energy right now,” I said apologetically, gazing at him. “It’s hard to be a tigress with this belly… I’m gaining so fast, so much…”
“Vicky, we’re only halfway through,” he chuckled, leaning in to kiss me. “I love everything about you. Especially your little belly! My baby girl is in there—also very loved.”
He kissed my stomach, making me giggle from the ticklish sensation. But soon he straightened with a suddenly serious expression. He went to the table, picked up some papers, and handed them to me.
“What’s this?” I asked.
“Your birthday present. Read.”
My husband smiled mysteriously. I lowered my gaze onto the documents—and couldn’t fully process what I was seeing.
No. This couldn’t be real.
“I did some digging on my wife,” Kirill smirked, “and I was informed that you used to make your own cosmetics back in Kremenchug—and it was incredibly popular among the ladies.” He paused, and I forgot how to breathe. “So… we’re not exactly poor, and we own a production facility. These documents mean we will begin manufacturing your cosmetic line professionally, on a full-scale level. Your products will reach customers all over the country—and far beyond.”
“Yartsev…” My breath hitched, emotions flooding me. “Are you saying… you’re giving me my own business?!”
“That’s exactly what I’m saying,” he laughed softly, gazing into my eyes with warmth.
“You devilish tempter…” I whispered, my voice husky. “Looks like my inner tigress suddenly regained her strength for tonight.”
I pulled him into a deep kiss—one that naturally led to all the delicious consequences that followed.
