Chapter 175 One Hundred And Seventy Five
Chapter 175 One Hundred And Seventy Five
Sofia sat comfortably on the velvet couch with a glass of wine in her hand, but her attention was fixed on Daniel.
He paced slowly across the living room, visibly irritated.
And Sofia was already getting tired of his attitude.
“You shouldn’t have told Kennedy about me.”
Daniel finally stopped pacing and looked directly at her.
Sofia lifted an eyebrow.
“Oh please.”
“I’m serious.”
“And I’m not?”
Daniel exhaled sharply.
“You exposed me too early.”
Sofia took a slow sip of wine.
“He would’ve figured it out eventually.”
“That’s not the point.”
Daniel ran a hand through his hair.
“I was gaining her trust.”
“And now?”
“Now she’s going to pull away from me.”
Sofia looked entirely unimpressed.
“You’re exaggerating.”
“No, I’m not.”
His voice sharpened slightly.
“She already looked guilty after the kiss.”
Sofia’s eyes narrowed with interest.
“You kissed her?”
Daniel immediately regretted mentioning it.
Sofia smirked slowly.
“Well, at least one of us made progress.”
Daniel frowned harder.
“This isn’t funny.”
“It is a little.”
He stared at her in disbelief.
“You nearly ruined everything because you got emotional.”
Sofia slowly lowered her glass.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
Daniel stepped closer now.
“You exposed me because you were jealous.”
Sofia let out a cold laugh.
“Jealous of what?”
“That I was actually getting somewhere with Antonia while Kennedy keeps rejecting you.”
The room fell silent instantly.
Sofia’s expression hardened.
“You’re getting very bold lately.”
“And you’re getting reckless.”
Daniel shook his head.
“You let your emotions ruin the plan.”
Sofia stood up slowly now.
Her heels clicked softly against the floor as she approached him.
“Careful.”
Daniel didn’t back down.
“You’re angry because Kennedy still loves his wife.”
Sofia’s hand twitched slightly before she stopped herself.
Her eyes burned furiously now.
“Don’t test me.”
Daniel laughed bitterly.
“You know I’m right.”
Her jaw tightened.
Daniel immediately saw the truth hit her.
And that only fueled his irritation further.
“You hate the fact that despite everything…”
“…Antonia still matters more to him.”
Sofia’s eyes flashed dangerously.
“You think Antonia won?”
Daniel shrugged coldly.
“Didn’t she?”
Sofia smiled devilishly.
“You’re forgetting something.”
Daniel frowned slightly.
“What?”
“Their marriage is already cracking.”
She picked up her wine glass again calmly.
“Kennedy and Antonia are destroying themselves now.”
Daniel’s expression remained tense.
“And if Antonia cuts me off?”
Sofia shrugged lightly.
“Then we find another angle.”
“She’s emotionally vulnerable already.”
“And Kennedy is drowning in work stress.”
Her smile widened slightly.
“We’ve already planted the damage.”
Daniel didn’t look reassured.
Because unlike Sofia, he no longer knew whether this was still revenge, or if he genuinely wanted Antonia back.
Sofia noticed the hesitation in his face immediately.
Her eyes narrowed slightly.
“Oh no.”
Daniel frowned.
“What?”
“You’re catching feelings again.”
“That’s not your concern.”
“It becomes my concern when emotions start ruining plans.”
Daniel scoffed.
“That’s ironic coming from you.”
Sofia’s expression darkened instantly.
“You know what your problem is?”
Daniel folded his arms.
“What?”
“You still think emotionally.”
“And you don’t think emotionally enough.”
Sofia rolled her eyes.
“Spare me.”
Daniel shook his head slowly.
“This whole thing started because you couldn’t accept rejection.”
“And this whole thing continued because you still want Antonia.”
The silence that followed was sharp enough to cut through.
Then finally Daniel stepped back toward the door.
“You know what?”
Sofia raised an eyebrow.
“What?”
“You’re becoming unstable.”
A dangerous flicker crossed Sofia’s eyes.
“And you’re becoming weak.”
Daniel grabbed the door handle.
“We’ll see who ruins this first.”
Then he walked out.
The door slammed behind him loudly.
Sofia stood motionless in the middle of the apartment.
Her grip tightened around the wine glass slowly.
Then she hurled it violently across the room.
CRASH.
Glass shattered everywhere.
Her breathing turned uneven with rage.
Because Daniel had said the one thing she hated hearing most.
Kennedy still loved Antonia.
And deep down, Sofia knew it was true.
\---
Miles away, inside the Walton mansion, the atmosphere was painfully quiet, cold, and lonely.
Antonia sat curled up at the edge of the couch, staring at the large clock across the living room.
Tick.
Tick.
Tick.
Every passing second only worsened the anxiety twisting inside her chest.
11:43 PM.
Kennedy still wasn’t home.
She had spent the last hour pacing between the living room and the bedroom.
Unable to sit still.
Unable to think clearly.
The memory of his face before he left haunted her endlessly.
That disappointment.
That hurt.
It crushed her.
Antonia hugged her arms tightly around herself.
What if he doesn’t come back tonight?
The thought immediately made panic rise in her chest.
No.
Kennedy loved her.
He said so himself.
But what if she had finally pushed him too far?
Her breathing became uneven again.
Quickly, she reached for her phone on the table.
And dialed his number.
The ringing began.
Once.
Twice.
Three times.
Then, voicemail.
Antonia’s heart sank immediately.
She tried again.
Same result.
Voicemail.
Tears burned her eyes again.
“Kennedy please…”
Her voice broke softly in the empty room.
She lowered the phone shakily.
For several seconds she simply stared at the screen.
Then, she dialed another number.
Helen.
The phone rang twice before her sister answered sleepily.
“Antonia?”
The concern in Helen’s voice appeared instantly.
“What’s wrong?”
Antonia immediately burst into tears.
“Helen…”
Helen sat up quickly on the other side of the call.
“Antonia? What happened?”
“I messed up.”
Her crying worsened.
“Oh God, I messed everything up.”
Helen’s voice became fully alert now.
“Slow down.”
“What happened?”
Antonia struggled to breathe properly through the tears.
“Kennedy left.”
“What?”
“He left the house.”
“When?”
“Hours ago.”
Helen frowned deeply.
“Why?”
Antonia covered her mouth with her trembling hand.
“Because Daniel kissed me.”
Silence.
Complete silence.
“…what?”
Antonia cried harder.
“It was a mistake.”
“Oh my God.”
“Helen, I swear I didn’t mean for it to happen.”
Helen rubbed her forehead tiredly.
“Start from the beginning.”
Slowly, and painfully...
Antonia told her everything.
The breakfast.
The conversations.
The emotional vulnerability.
The walk.
The kiss.
Kennedy finding out.
The argument.
Every single detail.
By the time she finished, Helen sounded completely stunned.
“You went out with Daniel again after everything I told you?”
“I know.”
“And he kissed you?”
Antonia nodded even though Helen couldn’t see her.
“Yes.”
“Oh, Tonia…”
The disappointment in her sister’s voice made Antonia cry even harder.
“I feel horrible.”
“You should.”
Antonia flinched slightly.
But Helen softened immediately afterward.
“Not because you’re evil, but because you’re emotionally exhausted and vulnerable.”
Antonia wiped her face shakily.
“I hurt him.”
“Yes.”
Helen sighed heavily.
“But Kennedy also hurt you first.”
“That doesn’t excuse this.”
“No, It doesn’t.”
Silence lingered briefly.
Then Helen asked quietly, “Where is Kennedy now?”
“I don’t know.”
“You still can’t reach him?”
“No.”
Antonia looked toward the front door again.
Fear clawed at her chest harder now.
“What if something happened to him?”
Helen immediately tried calming her.
“Don’t think like that.”
“But it’s midnight.”
“He probably just needed space.”
Antonia hugged herself tighter.
“I hate this.”
Helen’s voice softened further.
“If Kennedy still loves you the way I think he does…”
“…he will come back home to you.”
