Chapter 52 ~ Crystal of Life
“Are you ready?” Orion asked as Belinda stepped out of her room, dressed in simpler attire that allowed her to move more freely.
“Yes, I’m ready. I hope we can leave quickly—I’m really worried about Luca,” Belinda said, her voice laced with concern. Orion paused for a moment, understanding why Luca was so determined to help and protect her. Now, he realized Belinda felt the same way. Orion didn’t understand love, but he understood this: they deeply cared for each other.
“We can use teleportation to save time. Follow me,” Orion instructed, and Belinda followed him closely.
They stepped outside toward the teleportation site. As they arrived, Belinda felt her heart pounding. “Is this safe?” she asked, though deep down, she trusted that Orion would protect her.
Orion gave her a reassuring smile. “Don’t worry. I’ve done this many times. Just focus on where we’re headed.”
Belinda nodded, trying to steady her nerves. “Alright. I’m ready.”
With a swift motion, Orion opened a shimmering portal. They stepped through, engulfed by a blinding light. In an instant, their surroundings changed to a dense forest alive with the sounds of nature. With confident steps, they began their journey through the woods toward the Crystal Ice Castle.
It didn’t take long for them to reach the majestic castle, where they were warmly greeted by Oce, the castle's guardian.
“Welcome back, Princess!” Oce exclaimed.
Belinda’s face lit up with a smile. “Thank you, Oce. It’s been so long since I last visited,” she said, stepping closer. The castle's cold embrace was refreshing, a stark contrast to the humid warmth of the forest.
With a warm smile, Oce gestured toward the castle interior. “There’s something you need to see, Princess. Something has changed since your last visit.”
“What is it? What happened?” Belinda asked, her curiosity piqued.
“Come, and I will explain,” Oce replied, leading them through the castle’s gleaming ice-carved corridors. Every step felt like traversing a realm of magic.
Finally, they arrived at a grand chamber with walls shimmering like jewels. In its center stood an altar holding a glowing crystal.
“This is the Crystal of Life, Princess. It has weakened, and we may need your help to restore it,” Oce explained solemnly.
Belinda stepped closer, feeling the energy radiating from the crystal.
“Is the Crystal of Life connected to my powers?” she asked, her gaze fixed on Oce. “Will restoring it bring back my strength?” Her tone turned serious, as she desperately needed immense power to end the great war ravaging their lands.
Oce nodded gravely. “Yes, Princess Belinda. The Crystal of Life is not only the source of energy for this castle but is also intrinsically linked to your powers. For centuries, this crystal has protected the kingdom and maintained the balance of nature. However, its weakening has affected your abilities.”
Belinda felt the weight of the situation pressing on her. “What must we do? I can’t let this war continue. Greed and hatred must end!”
Oce stepped closer to the altar, gently brushing the crystal’s glowing surface. “By gathering three missing elements—starlight, sacred water, and the northern wind—you can restore its strength. If we succeed, your powers will return fully, and you’ll be able to stop the war.”
Belinda contemplated the journey ahead. “What challenges will we face in these places?”
Oce elaborated, “At Luminous Mountain, you’ll encounter the Guardian of Light, a being that will test your courage and sincerity. At Lake Elysium, sacred water is protected by water spirits who may question your intentions. And in the northern forest, the winds are guarded by ancient symbols of power that will require you to prove your worth.”
Listening intently, Belinda’s heartbeat quickened. “Do you believe we can succeed, Oce?”
“I believe in you, Princess,” Oce affirmed confidently. “Each challenge is part of your path. True strength doesn’t come from physical abilities alone but from the courage and determination to fight for something greater than ourselves.”
Belinda felt a surge of bravery. “Alright, let’s begin. I won’t back down. For peace and the restoration of balance, I’ll do whatever it takes.”
“Let’s prepare,” Oce said, extending a hand. “We need to gather equipment and plan our journey. Every second counts, and time is not on our side.”
Fueled by determination, Belinda steeled herself for the adventure that could shape the fate of her kingdom—and herself.
“Belinda, are you sure you want to do this without Luca?” Orion asked hesitantly.
“There’s no other choice, Orion. Luca is fighting his own battle, and I must fight mine to reclaim my powers and end this war,” Belinda replied resolutely.
“Wait a moment. I’ll contact Luca. I’ll go with my men to protect your land in his place,” Orion declared.
Belinda was stunned. “Why would you do that?” she asked, genuinely confused, knowing the Ravis rulers desired control of Earth.
“Because I trust Luca. If he believes you can help the Ravis people and save Mars, then I trust you too,” Orion stated firmly.
Belinda was overwhelmed by his words. Though she felt skeptical, a glimmer of hope emerged. “Orion, you don’t have to do this. It’s my responsibility.”
“A responsibility that must be faced,” Orion replied decisively. “But you can’t do this alone. The risk is too great. I want to ensure your safety, and Luca should be by your side.”
Belinda hesitated, conflicted. “But they want control over Earth. They won’t let us proceed without it. Can I trust you?”
“Not all Ravis rulers think alike,” Orion reassured her. “For some, power isn’t the ultimate goal. Many desire peace and stability, especially after witnessing the devastation of prolonged war.”
“So, you believe we can convince them?” Belinda asked, hope rising in her voice.
Orion nodded. “With the restored Crystal of Life, we can prove that war isn’t the solution. I’ll speak with Luca. If he supports you, others will see the truth in your intentions.”
Orion smiled. “We must fight for what is right. Let me contact Luca, and we’ll plan our next steps.”
“Alright, I’ll wait,” Belinda replied, feeling some tension ease. Though the journey ahead was daunting, having allies by her side brought her a sense of peace.
Orion moved to a corner of the room where a mystical communication device lay. As he began contacting Luca, Belinda reflected on the challenges ahead. With newfound hope and growing resolve, she realized that the fate of the Crystal of Life—and the balance of the world—rested on her shoulders.
