Chapter 43 043
Bianca's POV
I couldn't catch up with all that running Alpha Alexander and I knew Danica would be fine with him. The man literally adored my friend even though she doesn't want to admit it. And they were mates. If anyone would find her faster, it would be him. I didn't need to be his guide or anything.
So I headed to the clinic. She'd left that place before ending up at that forest side somehow. If anyone would know anything, it would be them. Her co-workers.
But for the past few minutes that I've been standing around, lurking around like a ghost, I haven't heard one single word that spoke good about my friend. I mean, she wasn't even there but all the gossip was nothing to write home about.
Had she been going through this constantly and lying to me that everything was fine... and great?
"I really hoped she failed the last surgery, okay. I just can't stand her!"
"I was tempted to put off the man's support system the moment he opened his eyes!"
"It was a shame Doctor Renee hadn't made her suffer till tomorrow and still give her a failed record. I was looking forward to it"
Three different doctors? nurses? whatever they were, gossiped and I felt my blood boil hot in my veins.
The nerve of those women!
I stood at the entrance, waiting until they walked past before stretching my leg forward, with an intention of making all three fall flat on their faces and maybe lose a few front teeth. Unfortunately only two fell and the last one stood with a sharp glare that I washed off her face with a slap that's been itching in my palms for minutes.
Her head whipped to the side effortlessly and when she faced me again, the other two girls were already standing as well, demanding answers that I was so ready to give.
"What the hell was that for?" one demanded hotly and I laughed. That usual savage laugh I use when I'm trying hard to keep myself in check.
"And who the hell do you think you are? to think Danica could stand your insignificant presence?" I retorted and the flustered expression on her face was the confirmation I needed that she was the bitch who said she couldn't stand that adorable doctor's presence. She really had some nerves but that wasn't why i'm here.
"And for you....?" I trailed, pointing at the other two girls. they shifted back a little. Good. "I wouldn't be surprised if there was a new headline that you killed the entire hospital" I added with a mocking smile and I watched them turn red with fury before waltzing my way into the hospital.
I wanted to play it kind since Danica loves kind. But after hearing an ear full of disgusting comments in one night, I couldn't help taking it out on those three shrimps disguised in human form.
"How may I help you, miss?" The lady at the desk asked as soon as I got there.
"I'm here to find out if the latest trial succeeded." From all the gossip I've heard, I deduced that it was, but I had to confirm everything at the desk to be sure. So here I am.
"I'm sorry, miss. That's confidential information and it can't be discussed with a stranger" she responded and I sighed dramatically.
"I'm Dani's best friend okay? I'm no stranger... And Alpha Alexander knows about me coming here" I added the lie to sound more convincing.
She bought the lie and I saw her stern glare falter.
"Really?"
"Yes really!" I responded urgently, making it seem as if I was on an errand for the Alpha.
She spilled everything within three minutes, including the fact that Alpha Alexander already summoned their head Doctor but she was sure he would simply question her and the case would be closed... Since, according to her, the head Doctor was more important than the Omega slut.
My hands itched to slap her face but I held back. At least she didn't make up the insults. She's simply telling me what she heard from the others.
I turned around without another word, thinking about what she said all over again.
Alexander summoned the head Doctor. But he wouldn't just let her go after a few questions... Would he?
She would obviously tell him lies, because no one in their right mind would admit doing that to a fellow wolf... Right in their Alpha's face.
But he wouldn't believe her lies, just because she's one of his best employees right?
Those questions raced through my mind as I rushed out of the clinic to find him.
Alpha or not, he would hear from me if my friend had to walk back home so late and then get attacked because her supervisor thinks it's the best decision to make.
But first, I needed to know if Danica was okay or if another murder would happen before dawn.
If Alexander could summon the doctor this late, does that mean she's not okay? Not responding to treatment? Or worse?
With that scary thought lingering in my mind, I literally sprinted towards anywhere that had her scent... Or the Alpha's scent.
It took a while but I found a room. And I saw Blake walking out of the room, his face graced in hard lines.
I got more scared, if that was even possible in any way.
"Danica... Is she fine?" The question came out as a whisper.
He nodded once.
"She's still unconscious... And injured. But no irreversible damage was done." He
explained but what the hell does that even mean?
No irreversible damage?!
