Chapter 70

Luna stood on the edge of the grand hall, her heart racing in her chest. The weight of her mother’s words hung in the air, and the truth she had uncovered about Ravana and the balance of the world was almost too much to bear. Everything she had known, everything she had believed, was now crumbling in front of her eyes.

The revelation that Ravana wasn’t always the monster he was now—a prince, a protector, corrupted by his own greed—changed everything. It was hard to fathom, hard to accept. But in that moment, as Luna stood face to face with her mother, she understood the depth of the battle she was about to wage.

"You’re quiet," Aeloria said, her voice laced with a tinge of concern. She studied Luna closely, her golden eyes filled with a knowing sadness. "I understand that this is a lot to process, but you must understand what we’re up against."

Luna clenched her fists at her sides, trying to steady her breath. "I’m trying to, but this… it’s too much. I thought Ravana was just a monster. But now… now I see he’s something more—something much more dangerous."

Aeloria nodded solemnly. "Yes. He was once like us. But his descent into darkness was inevitable. Greed, the hunger for power—it consumed him. And now he seeks to destroy everything. But he was once a protector, and perhaps, deep down, there’s still a part of him that could be saved."

Luna’s eyes widened. "Saved?" She shook her head, confused. "You’re telling me there’s still a part of him that’s good?"

Aeloria stepped closer, her eyes softening. "It is possible. You see, Luna, the magic that Ravana once wielded was not inherently evil. It was twisted, yes, by his desires, but the core of it—its true nature—is not unlike your own. It was a magic that was meant to protect. And if we can tap into that… there may be a way to stop him without destroying everything in his path."

"But how?" Luna’s voice trembled. "How can I stop him if he’s already consumed by darkness? How can I reach that part of him, if it even exists anymore?"

Aeloria reached out and placed a gentle hand on Luna’s shoulder. "You’ve already begun the journey, Luna. You have the strength within you. The Ancients saw something in you when they chose you for this task. It is not just your bloodline, but your heart, your will. You’re not just the key to defeating Ravana—you are the key to understanding him. To reaching the part of him that was once pure."

Luna felt a flicker of hope, but it was quickly overshadowed by doubt. "But I don’t even understand myself yet. How can I understand him?"

"You are closer than you think." Aeloria’s voice was steady, almost comforting. "The magic inside of you is the same magic Ravana once wielded. You are tied to him in ways you cannot yet comprehend. But your connection to him is not a curse—it is a gift. You will learn how to wield it, how to use it to see through the darkness. And when the time comes, you will be the one who decides whether Ravana is redeemed or destroyed."

Luna closed her eyes, her mind spinning. "I don’t know if I’m ready for this. What if I fail?"

"You won’t," Aeloria said firmly. "You have more strength than you realize. And you are not alone in this battle. You have your pack, your friends, and your mate. And you have me. I will guide you, Luna. As will your ancestors."

The words seemed to settle in Luna’s mind, a weight lifting from her shoulders. She wasn’t alone in this fight. There were others—people who cared, who were willing to help her on this journey.

"I have to do this," Luna said, her voice steadying. "For everyone. For the pack, for my family… for the world. I have to stop him."

Aeloria smiled softly, her expression full of pride. "Then we will do it together."

Before Luna could respond, the sound of approaching footsteps broke the moment. Adrian appeared in the doorway, his expression tense but determined.

"Luna, it’s time," he said, his voice low. "We need to move. The others are waiting."

Luna nodded, a sense of finality settling over her. She had her answer. There was no turning back now.

She turned to Aeloria, her mother, one last time. "Thank you. For everything."

Aeloria reached out, pulling Luna into a tight embrace. "I’ve always believed in you, Luna. You are your father’s daughter. And you are stronger than you know."

Luna pulled away, meeting her mother’s eyes one last time. "I’ll see you again. Soon."

And with that, she turned, walking toward Adrian, who was already preparing for the journey ahead. The weight of the task ahead was still there, but Luna felt something new inside her—a sense of purpose, of resolve. She was no longer just a girl caught in a prophecy. She was the one who would decide the fate of the world.

As they left the palace and made their way to the waiting car, Luna took a deep breath. The path ahead was uncertain, but she knew one thing for sure—she wasn’t alone. And no matter what came next, she would face it head-on, ready to fight for what was right.
