Lucas

Before I could fully process the implications, he was already outside. As I reached the door, my eyes fell upon a scene of pure horror, a sight that would change everything.

My Scar.

Rage consumed me as I watched Alpha Dickson caressing Scar’s hand. The tenderness in his eyes as he claimed what was rightfully mine ignited a primal fury within my chest.

“What the hell do you think you’re doing, Alpha Dickson!” I thundered, channeling my Alpha tone, but he remained unmoved.

My authority meant nothing to him. His eyes glimmered with joy as he gazed at Scar.

“I have been waiting forever,” he murmured, his thumb tracing circles on her palm, each movement stoking my anger. “I thought the goddess had abandoned me, forgotten to grant me my better half. Yet here you are, such breathtaking beauty.”

His fingers drifted to her face, utterly entranced by her. Why him? I should be the one beside Scar, not him.

She is mine alone. Even in death, she could only belong to me.

“Let go of her now!” I snarled, storming toward them.

“Lucas,” Alpha Dickson responded, deliberately dropping my Alpha title. He turned to face my seething form. “What exactly do you mean by that?”

My gaze fixated on their intertwined hands, joined together in apparent bliss.

“She is mine,” I screeched, my voice breaking with desperate possession. “My property.”

“Yours?” He scoffed, his eyes burning with a rage that matched the inferno building inside me. Each word dripped with contempt. “Really?”

“Yes. Mine. So let go of her now before I show you the stuff I am made of.”

My hands trembled at my sides, claws threatening to emerge. Despite my threats, this monster before me refused to yield.

He stood tall, shoulders squared, challenging my authority with every breath. How dare he! How dare he infiltrate my pack and try to steal away the woman who belonged at my side!

“She isn’t yours,” he began, his voice low and dangerous, carrying the weight of an ancient claim. “And we both know it.”

He lifted Scar’s hand with deliberate slowness, his thumb caressing her wrist where her pulse quickened. “She is mine, and I have the right to claim her. I could...”

He paused, his gaze softening as it met Scar’s, her cheeks flushing with a warmth I’d once believed was reserved only for me. Something intimate passed between them that made my stomach twist with jealousy. “I could kill anyone to have her.”

This bitch! The mere whisper of sweet nothings from his lips and she blushed like a schoolgirl.

I brushed it off with disdain, confident in the fact that her true loyalty was to me. She loved me. That was a fact as unchanging as the stars.

“You think so?” I smirked, crossing my arms across my chest with confidence. “Do you really think she will love you just because you are her mate?”

Alpha Dickson hesitated for a moment, his composure faltering briefly before he quickly regained control.

“She is mine,” he declared, his voice softening with a susceptibility that surprised me. “Even if she doesn’t love me now, I will make her love me.”

His lips brushed against the back of her hand, a gesture so tender it made my stomach twist with revulsion. “I will try my best. Put all of me in it.”

This display contradicted everything I’d heard about him. The Alpha Dickson of legend was ruthless, possessed of a heart carved from granite.

Selfish to his core, caring for nothing beyond his own desires. A man incapable of love. So why this performance? Was he acting like this just to make me give in about helping him?

“She loves me,” I snapped, conviction burning in every word. “And nothing could change her mind.” I locked eyes with Scar, pouring all my devotion into my gaze. “Nobody could come between us, not even you or fate. So give up while I’m being nice.”

I loathed every second of this exchange with this demon in human form. Regret gnawed at me. I should have gone to Scar earlier, confessed my plan to make her my mistress. I should have resisted the maid’s seduction when I had the chance.

“Okay,” Alpha Dickson uttered, his calm acceptance more infuriating than any threat. “But I am not giving up.”

I responded with a snarl, my lips curling back to reveal my teeth, my body tensing in preparation for a fight.

“You think you can win when you start it?” Alpha Dickson’s voice dripped with disdain. “A little Alpha baring his teeth in front of me.” The contempt in his words ‘little Alpha’ cut deeper than any knife could.

“You dar—” My retort died in my throat as Alpha Dickson struck with lightning speed. His fingers twisted in the fabric of my clothes, and with terrifying strength, he hurled me through the air.

I crashed to the ground with a sickening thud, the impact reverberating through every bone in my body. Pain exploded along my spine as I struggled to my feet, humiliation fueling my rage.

“How dare you!”

A mocking smile spread across his face, slow and deliberate. “You’re so weak.”

Something primal awakened within me, a thunderous glow vibrating in my chest as darkness consumed my vision. My wolf surged forward, taking control.

I launched myself at him with every ounce of fury I possessed, but Alpha Dickson dismissed my attack with an effortless wave before driving his fist deep into my stomach. The blow was devastating, as if I’d been struck by a battering ram.

“Ah!” A guttural scream tore from my throat. He showed no mercy, hauling me up again, landing another crushing blow before hurling me to the floor like discarded trash. My face was a bloody ruin, my body beaten beyond recognition.

“You’re no match for me,” he declared, looming over my broken form with sickening arrogance. “Alpha Damon defeated me doesn’t mean I am weak, or for someone like you to bully and want to snatch my mate away from me.”

His voice resonated with raw, dominant power. In that brutal moment, clarity struck- if I wasn’t careful, I could lose Scar forever. He could tear her from my grasp, leaving me with nothing.

I fought against my battered body, willing myself upright as my wolf began its healing work. The transformation ripped through me, coarse fur erupting from my skin, claws extending from fingertips turned to paws, my human features elongating into a fearsome snout.

My eyes blazed with golden fire, burning with primal fury. Muscles swelled and contorted beneath my changing form, my senses sharpening to supernatural acuity, strength multiplying with each passing second.

As the metamorphosis completed, I unleashed a thunderous howl that sliced through the air like a battle cry, challenging Alpha Dickson with newfound resolve.

I stood as a whirlwind of conflicting emotions - rage, desperation, love, and possessiveness. I was determined not to give up what I believed was rightfully mine.

The humiliation of being overpowered burned through me like acid, but the fear of losing Scar was even more intense, a visceral dread that overshadowed my physical pain.

Despite my battered body and the impossible odds looming before me, a resolve stronger than diamond formed within me. I refused to let Alpha Dickson take away everything that gave my life purpose.

“You will get yourself killed, Little Alpha,” he taunted, his laughter carving fresh wounds into my pride.

“Alpha, let us help you,” Jack and Alex’s desperate voices called from the sidelines. “Please.”

“This fight is mine alone,” I growled back, my words carrying the weight of my wounded honor. “I need to face him myself.”

Despite my transformation, despite standing before him as a creature of fang and claw, Alpha Dickson remained unshaken. He turned away from me with insulting casualness to face Scar.

“My love,” he cooed with sickening tenderness, each word stoking the inferno of my rage. “You should stay here. I will finish this quickly.”

He didn’t bother to shift into his wolf form, which was a supreme insult, and instead, he launched his attack. I met his charge with all my strength, our bodies colliding with earth-shaking force.

My claws slashed desperately through the air, seeking purchase on any exposed flesh.

However, Alpha Dickson moved with supernatural speed, evading and countering with devastating precision.

His fists struck with the force of sledgehammers, each blow sending waves of agony through my already broken body.

Despite the pain, I refused to give in, fueled by a primal instinct to protect what I had claimed as my own.

“She is mine,” I howled, the declaration tearing from my very soul. “Mine to claim.”

With one final devastating blow from Alpha Dickson’s fist, my defeat was complete. I collapsed with a pitiful whimper, my wolf form shrinking as my broken body turned back to human shape.

“Alpha!” Jack and Alex rushed to my side, their hands gentle yet urgent as they helped lift my battered form.

“Can I leave with her now?” Alpha Dickson’s question hung in the air, a thinly veiled challenge daring me to rise and fight again.

The cruel reality crushed down upon me, I could never defeat him through strength alone. But perhaps there was another way.

“Please wait.” My voice, though weak, stopped him mid-stride. “Let’s have a deal.”

He turned slowly, curiosity flickering across his arrogant features. “Okay. What type of deal are you talking about?”

I gathered my remaining strength, clutching at my final, desperate gambit. “I will lend you my warriors in exchange for Scar.”
