Scar
“Cat got your tongue?” she mocked, her voice dripping with malicious glee. “I thought you could fight back.”
“Get out,” I muttered under my breath, but it was clear enough for her to hear me.
“And if I don’t?” she challenged, stepping closer.
I remained silent. The game was clear - she wanted to break me further, to revel in my downfall.
Years of being Lucas’s partner had taught me when to speak and when to let silence speak volumes.
“You’re acting like this just because he slept with you once,” I sneered, my eyes piercing through her with a look of pure contempt. I shook my head, a bitter laugh catching in my throat.
How little she understood. I had been with Lucas for years, passed around like a trophy, gifted to his friends without a second thought.
“And I enjoyed it,” she bragged, a prideful gleam in her eyes. “I enjoyed every bit of him.”
“Good for you,” I replied, my voice devoid of emotion.
“Unlike someone,” she continued, twisting the knife, “who lost the Alpha’s favor.”
Her words were calculated, designed to wound. But I had been wounded so many times that her barbs barely scratched the surface.
“And who told you that you’ve become the Luna just because he touched you once?” I asked, my voice dripping with derision.
“I’m smart,” she declared. “I didn’t cling to him like you did. I know how to play the game. Sooner or later, he’ll call me again, and...” She paused, a knowing smirk spreading across her face. “I’ll make him so addicted to me, to my body, that he’ll want no one else. I’ll become his Luna.”
I sighed, a wave of bitter understanding washing over me.
She thought herself clever, but her words only proved her naivety. Such an innocent soul wanted to tangle with a devil like Lucas? Poor, foolish girl.
“Looking forward to that day, honey,” I muttered, my vision crystallizing with a sudden clarity.
Behind me, her voice rang out with misplaced confidence. “You should bow your head to me now, bitch! If I become the Luna, maybe I can pity you and marry you off to one of the palace guards.”
Idiot.
She could die before that day ever came. Already coveting a throne she didn’t understand, hadn’t earned. The world of power was far more ruthless than her simple ambitions.
My wolf stirred within me, a wounded creature of raw emotion.
“He totally lost interest in us,” Anna whimpered, her voice a broken thread of pain.
“Yes,” I responded, my tone flat and final. “He made that abundantly clear when he slept with her right in front of me. We mean nothing to him now.”
Anna’s rage suddenly erupted. “It is because of her,” she roared. “That crazy bitch. She caused everything.”
“Who?” I asked, my hand already on the door to my room.
“Nina,” Anna snarled. “That demon. She caused everything happening to us now. We must take our revenge.”
“How?” I asked, shutting my room door behind me.
Anna’s response was calculated, cold. “We can hurt her, but we can’t kill her. Lucas won’t do anything to us as long as we don’t cross that line.”
“Good,” I replied, an evil thought taking root in my mind.
Before long, I found myself walking toward the criminals’ quarters, purpose burning in my veins.
“What pleasure do we owe for your visit?” The voice was familiar - Felix. A man whose reputation was built on the darkest of crimes, whose very name sent shivers through the pack.
I smiled, a predatory expression that didn’t reach my eyes. “Long time no see, Felix.”
His gaze bore into me, intense, dangerous, utterly creepy. Exactly what I needed. Felix would be perfect for what I had planned.
“Get to the point, Scar,” he snapped, impatience threading his words. “My time is golden.”
I moved closer, each step deliberate. Without warning, he grabbed my hand. “Scar,” he growled, the single word a threat and a question. “Why are you here?”
I was playing with fire. And I was ready to burn everything down.
“I’m not here for this,” I spoke, my voice steady despite the undercurrent of tension.
Felix licked his lips, a predatory gleam in his eyes. “Then tell me. Why are you here if not for... this?”
“I need your help,” I began.
“My help?” A sardonic laugh. I nodded.
“But not for free,” he added, a statement more than a question.
“I know,” I whispered. “I will pay you.”
“Hehehe.” His laughter grew, loud and menacing. His gaze crawled over me, settling with premeditated lewdness on my chest. “I don’t need your money. I want something else.”
“Like?” I frowned, though I knew precisely what he was implying.
“Your body,” he blurted out, raw and direct. “I want to thrust inside your hole and make you scream. Make you scream my name.”
“No,” I uttered, turning away, preparing to walk out.
“Wait,” Felix called, his voice a command.
I paused, then turned, a smile playing on my lips that didn’t reach my eyes. “What favor are we talking about?”
“You know Nina, right?” I asked.
“That bitch who tried to kill our Beta?” Felix asked, his voice low.
“Exactly,” I replied, moving closer. I whispered my plan into his ear.
Felix’s expression shifted, a dark excitement spreading across his face. He was clearly relishing the potential for revenge.
“This is why I like you, Scar,” he said. “Even if you never allow me to have a taste of you. But how are we going to get to her?”
“Leave that to me, Felix,” I responded coldly. “Gather your men. We move tonight.”
“Understood,” Felix agreed, a predatory gleam in his eyes. “This is going to be interesting.”
He stroked his rod. “I can’t wait to thrust into her.”
