Mila felt her mouth open wide in shock as she stared at Morticia. Part of her wanted to scream and defend herself but another part of her told her felt Morticia knew more than meets the eyes.

"I didn't," she whispered.

"How sure are you?" Morticia whispered back.

"I'm sure I wouldn't hurt anyone," she mumbled.

Morticia smiled and taped her shoulders.

"Follow me," Morticia tilted her head in a direction.

Mila nodded and they headed for a black door.

"Mind if I borrow your friend for a moment?" Morticia asked Felicia, who was relaxing on the couch.

"Just don't take time. We have a lot of sightseeing, you see," she said and nodded without opening her eyes.

Morticia chuckled and opened the door. The room wasn't as spacious as the one Felicia was in. It looked more serious. Like where all the magic and business happens. Morticia pointed out a chair for Mila on which she sat uncomfortably on. She sat opposite Mila in a black swivel chair which rotated with each turn.

"We need to have a good talk," Morticia said coldly.

Mila stared at her, not knowing the opinion in her heart, so she said nothing.

"Let's start from the beginning. You are the winged demon right?" Morticia asked.

Mila felt the urge to deny it. Although she knew Morticia must have known already, she didn't know if she could trust her. Something told her she could trust Morticia but she didn't want to risk it.

"Winged demon?" she asked

"Honey. You can trust me. If there's anyone in this pack you could trust, it's me," Morticia assured her.

"How would I know?" she asked.

"Look darling, if anyone in the pack knows about your identity, you are as good as dead. Including Felocoa out there. I am not telling you Felicia is bad. Although she can be pretty dangerous at times, she isn't inhumane," Morticia spoke.

Mila scoffed silently. Felicia was more than inhumane. Someone who could poison the food of someone else wasn't supposed to be called less dangerous. How could Morticia, a witch not know this fact about her so-called good friend?

"I haven't told anyone else,'' she said

"Nice. I'm only trying to help keep you safe. And let it stay that way. Now. How did this happen? I mean you being the winged creature?" Morticia asked.

Mila sighed and recounted everything from the time she walked into Adrian's room and how she transformed.

Morticia listened attentively and nodded at intervals. She looked so engrossed in listening that she almost stood up.

"So now you're saying Alpha Adrian knows?" Morticia asked.

"Yes," she replied, her eyes dropping to the ground.

"Well, it's a good thing too. He would protect you too," Morticia felt glad with that new information.

"You think he will?" she asked.

"He is a good man. As long as you have not harmed while you are in your normal form, he'll find a way," Morticia stated.

"Ok," she accepted.

"Do you remember what happened when you went into the forest that day?" Morticia asked, her eyes adamant.

"No," she sighed.

"Nothing at all?" Morticia felt a little bit frustrated as she knew her work was going to be tougher than it looked as Mila didn't seem to recall anything.

"Nothing at all," she sighed.

"Well, my powers are limited. I know you didn't kill anyone. If only you remembered something, it would have helped,'' Morticia stated clicking her tongue.

"You know everything. Can't you just find out who the culprit is?" she inquired.

"My powers are limited dear. All I can tell you is the killings would continue and it would strain your relationship with Adrian. To prevent this, you should find who the culprit is,'' Morticia noted.

"Wait a second," Mila held out her hands.

Morticia strained her neck in expectation.

"According to what I read in the history book, there is supposed to be a one-winged demon creature right?" she asked.

Realization seemed to have hit Morticia as she hit her hands on the table.

"Excellent. Just very good," Morticia exclaimed.

"And I am the winged creature, right? Then what other winged creature is this?" she said.

"Something isn't right," Morticia realized.

"Exactly my point," she said.

"There has to be some sort of explanation for this. If you didn't kill the girl, then who did?" Morticia wondered.

They say in silence, each in their thoughts.

"We don't have all day," Felicia yelled from where she was.

"Oops. Guess you have to be on your way. I would find another way to communicate with you," Morticia said.

"I could come by sometimes," she said

"No. It would be too risky. I'll communicate with you," Morticia said and opened her drawer. She brought out a golden pendant.

It was a golden necklace that was patterned weirdly. It had a horn-shaped pendant.

"I have been saving this for the day I would meet the person who would be the supposed chosen one. Guess the time has come for you to have this," Morticia explained.

"The chosen one?" Mila asked.

"Yes. We will talk more about all that when I communicate with you. We wouldn't finish up if I wanted to explain now. Just know, you are special and also in danger of anyone sensing your existence," she warned.

Mila felt a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach. She had never imagined a day when her life would be so twisted as it is now.

"Danger?" she asked, swallowing hard.

"If the bad people know about your existence, you'll have a lot to deal with. That's why you have to stay hidden till you master your abilities," Morticia replied and walked toward her

"Can I?" Morticia asked, raising the pendant to Mila's neck.

Mila nodded and Morticia placed the necklace on her neck.

"What is this?'' she asked.

"It's something that would enable you to control yourself when you transform. And it also enabled you and me to communicate effectively," Morticia explained.

At th

at point, Felicia burst into the room, her eyes full of rage.
