Chapter 30 - Epilogue

Hundreds, thousand pairs of eyes stared intently in my soul. A crowd of people gathered together in one place for a joyous occasion. My joyous occasion, my Luna ceremony to be exact. The second I got outside they all stared at me with bright faces.

All smiles, grins here and there. The venue looked like of like a wedding, with a long white carpeted isle. Well technically it’s like a marriage, except there's no human vowels, you can wear rings but many prefer other things. In other words, it’s a ceremony to announce someone’s eternal mating, which is very similar to marriage if you look at it right.

As tradition everyone here was wearing white, I of course was wearing the traditional dress. Passed on from generations of Luna before me, Jake's mother the previous Luna passed it down to me. The dress itself is only worn during this ceremony, or the wedding some wolfs do decide to have.

Walking down the snow white carpet, I look up to see Jake smiling brightly at me. I couldn't help but smile back, his smile was contagious. Walking past the rows of my fellow pack members seated beside me. In the front row was Lucas, Chase, Charlie and Nick, and their mates and children. They all nodded in respect as I walked past. It startled me at first, as a fellow warrior I was always shown the same respect as they were. But now as a Luna, a new form of respect is shown for me and I'm not sure I like it.

Finally arriving at the end of the aisle and stood at the alter beside Jake. Jake's mother was there as well, as she was the past Luna, she's preforming the ceremony. Jake grabbed my hands and held them tightly in his own. Once everyone was seated the ceremony started.

"Do you Bryn Lockwood promise to fulfil your expectations as a Luna"

She asked and I smiled.

"I do"

"Do you promise to put the pack's needs before your own, risk everything including your life to protect, love and serve them"

She asks in a more serious tone, and I nod.

"I do"

She smiles and gives me a reassuring smile.

"By the power bestowed upon me by the goddess, I hereby announce Bryn Lockwood, the Luna of the Luna Moon pack!"

She announced and it's like it all snapped into place. Immediately hundreds of different thoughts flooded my mind, and I blocked them off with a smile. It's nice to have my connection with the pack back, ever since my wolf left, I've had trouble connecting at all with anyone.

The pack broke into cheers and wolf howls rang out into the air. With a smile Jake grabbed my hand and ran me down the aisle. Chuckling I followed him out into the forest. I'm not even sure what we were doing but it was nice, having a break from the pack. I loved them all to death, but I need some mate time.

We stopped beside the stream and we sat down beside it. Hundreds of wild daisies grew around where we sat. I sat in between his legs and he played with my hair softly. There was a nagging feeling at the back of my head, and it wasn't just about the secret I haven't told Jake yet. There was something else that was bugging me and I couldn't tell what it was.

"How's it feel to be Luna"

Jake asked softly with a smile kissing the side of my neck and I shivered.

"It feels bloody incredible"

I told him and he laughs.

"I just adore your choice of language sometimes"

He says with a smile and I shrug with a smirk.

The nagging feeling was getting worse and I couldn't figure out what it was. It was starting to feel like some sort of headache coming on. Hoping to ease the feeling I decide to tell Jake what he didn't know. It's not like I wasn't going to tell him, I just wanted to delay it to give me some time to adjust. For some for god reason Mabel figured it out, so it might be time to tell him before anyone else finds out.

"Jake?"

I question leaning my head back to face him and he smiled down questioningly.

"Yes?"

He asked sarcastically and I smile.

"What do you see in our future"

I ask softly and he smiles lovingly down at me.

"I see you and I, maybe with a child or two living together without fail till we both grow old and wrinkly and die"

He says with a grin and I chuckle.

"That sounds beautiful"

I whisper kissing the tip of his nose. He smiles nodding his head in agreement.

"I agree"

He agrees giving me a sweet peck on the lips and I smiled nervously. He frowned noticing the nervous smile plastered on my face.

"What's wrong Bryn"

He whispered softly and I gulped taking a deep breath.

"What if I tell you we might be one step closer to our future"

I replied nervously and he raised his eyebrow in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

He asks and I smile happily up at him.

"Jake I'm pregnant"

I whisper and for a moment he freezes in shock, but within seconds a bright smile covers his face.

"You're not joking right?"

He asks nervously and I smirk at him.

"Would I seriously be messing with you with this kind of thing"

I tell him with a chuckle and he laughs along with me.

"So, your seriously pregnant"

He muttered mainly to himself, as if he couldn't believe it himself. The arms that were previously holding himself up off the ground, where now wrapped around my stomach rubbing over the exposed skin slightly.

"Can we not make it public or anything for a while"

I ask him and he looks confused.

"Why? Don't you want people to know?"

He asked almost sounding hurt and I shook my head.

"It's not that, it's just with the news of Mabel being barren announced yesterday I don't want to rub the pregnancy in either of their faces"

I told him and a bright smile came across his face.

"Your amazing you know that? Your pregnant but you’re so selfless that your considering other feelings before yours. It makes me love you even more"

He tells me and I smile brightly. I let out a deep breath I never knew I was holding in and smiled. But for some reason the nagging feeling inside my head was getting heavier. Like a thick grey cloud of darkness has hovering over my head, wanting to be released. What wanted to be released was uncertain but I was starting to feel uncomfortable.

Jake stilled for a moment, and he moved his hand from my stomach to my forehead.

"Bryn you're burning up, are you feeling alright?"

He asked and honestly, I wasn't feeling to good either.

"Not really, I feel like I just ran a marathon"

The nagging feeling was like a full on migraine and my muscles were aching like I did indeed run a marathon. Beads of sweat drizzled down the side of my face and I groaned in pain.

"We should get you checked out by the pack doc..."

Before he could reply a sharp snap of a bone and my scream followed shortly after. I could feel all my over bones getting ready to snap or twist, and I had a feeling I knew what was happening.

"Jake can you do me a favour, get the pack doctor here as soon as possible"

I told him and he nodded mind linking the doctor. I had a very good suspicion I was about to shift, but it felt almost as bad as the first time and I wasn't sure if it was good for the baby. Within seconds Mabel ran through the forest towards us.

"Mabel?"

I questioned keeping my mind off the aching pain and the twisting of bones. I don't believe anymore were breaking but something was going on. She ran over to where I was crouched over on the ground and sat beside me.

"I studied the basic requirements of nursing before going into physiology"

She explained practically reading my mind.

"I think I'm shifting, is it safe?"

I ask nervously as she looks me over. She nodded her head and I let out a breath of relief.

"It would feel like a person who's lived most of their live in a wheelchair and then has to get used to standing again"

She explained and I nodded my head.

"It'll be nothing like your first shirt, I'd be surprised if you broke more than 3 bones. Since your bodies already been into the formation before it'll be easier"

She tells me with a reassuring smile and I nodded. Just like she said I felt the usual tingles from shifting and the extra slight burning feeling of my bones trying to re-adjust to the old form but very slowly fur started to form over my skin and within seconds I went from human to wolf.

I practically flinched when the over whelming sharp senses can into view. I could see so much clearer, and I could hear the deep intakes of Jake's breath. I slowly stretch my legs and back getting use to the new form.

The sound of clothes shredding could be heard and before I knew it Jake stood in front of me in his wolf form. My wolf feeling eager to play after all this time, playfully nipped his ear before bolting off through the forest. Jake following close on my tail.

No one can ever understand the thrill of contentment I had of finally being able to shift again. To be strong and to be able to fully protect my pack from whatever's out there. Right at this moment as I ran through the forest beside Jake, I have never felt so happy.

To have my mate finally be all mine, and us starting family is so hard to believe. We've had our ups and downs, there will be plenty more in the future. Everything that has happened to us, has helped to build our relationship into the beautiful it is now. But right now, everything is perfect and I could never have asked for anything better...
