"Could be, sounds like it, although your situation is real screwed up. Chris did tell me that in one of the dreams, his dad was in the middle of a challenge with his grandfather. Apparently, Ezra looked up at him in the middle of it and said something like 'you know what you need to do.'" "Shit," Ethan breathed out. Lander sighed. "Levi and I were actually just talking about it, well, we've been drinking and speculating since you guys left tonight. We think in a different form, unless you've had crazy dreams too, that maybe this was your sign. Everette men always get a sign." "What about you? How did you know Levi?" I asked. "We always get an itch. Thorne's always get an itch." "What?!" I felt my eyes widen as Ethan looked up at me with his mouth slightly open. "An itch? Really?! You didn't think to tell me you asshole!" "Easy girly," Levi chuckled out. "First off, I didn't know if it was actually the same damn thing. Could have been anything. Wanted to see what would happen, where it would take you. No reason to get you worked up if it wasn't an itch which would only confirm my theory that you got some crazy shit up there in that brain of yours." I growled lowly while Levi laughed hard over the link. Ethan bit back a smile which made me slap his chest. "It's not funny!" "Yes it is babe," he chuckled out. "Sorry Charlie girl, wasn't sure with you. Probably should have told you, but it's all worked out." Ethan sighed and rubbed his face. "So you're saying this was my sign?" "I don't know Ethan, was it? It's your damn sign for a reason boy," Levi replied. Ethan thought for a little before nodding. "It's one fucked up sign." "It's all screwed up Ethan. You shouldn't have had to see those things, but it was a good thing. We know the truth now which in itself can give us some relief. Living with unknowns can be burdensome, that and you know for sure now what your place is. As painful as it was seeing everything in that tree, it was a good thing that it happened." Lander finished while Ethan mused for a bit. Lander always had a way with words; he always knew how to say what needed to be said in the right way. An artist. He was an artist of words our Saint Lander. "So you felt what? Like it was dangerous to say it?" Levi asked curiously. Ethan nodded. "We both did." "It was like I had to protect it, Levi," I added. "I almost said it but I just couldn't," Ethan sighed out. "He pulled the words back to a corner of my mind where it would be safe. I just had this feeling in my gut." "Brother?" Lander prodded warily. "Ethan," Levi said with a tone that was more gentle but still firm. "Do you trust everyone in that room tonight? And over the link?" "Are you saying we have a mole?" His brows furrowed as his eyes stirred in disbelief. "Son your beast isn't doing that for the hell of it. We protect things when there's danger. When something or someone is dangerous." "Levi no, I mean everyone I trust today." He sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Shit," he hissed. "Well, we don't know if they were there," Lander mused a bit. "What if your beast didn't want the people in there to know in case word got out? In case that information leaked to people it shouldn't? I'm not saying everyone in there is going to squeal, but things like that happen and this sign, your sign, well it's not nothing Ethan. It's an important piece of the puzzle." "Maybe," Ethan replied while he chewed on his bottom lip. I lifted his hand and kissed the back of it while he shook his head again. "What if you're right Levi?" I felt Levi stir a little. "I didn't get that feeling Ethan, but I trust your gut and my girl's. Keep a watchful eye on everyone and we will too. If someone is squealing it won't be long before we know. I would keep that to yourselves though and Evan. He's going to be your beta boy, and a hell of a one at that, he can't support you if he doesn't know." "That's right Ethan. Evan needs to know so he can help you. Beta's can't support their alphas in the dark. Evan's a good wolf, strong too. He's already good at keeping you in line, make sure you bring him in." Ethan nodded. "Agreed." "Any other crazy shit you want to talk about?" Levi asked before he startled to chuckled. "No uncle, we'll let you know if there's anything else," Ethan replied a tiredly. "Alright, stay safe and link us again if anything happens," Lander replied before hopping off. "Keep my daughter safe, so help me if something happens to her," Levi replied, his voice was battling his anger to stay calm. "I know, I will," Ethan replied. "I love you Charlie girl, try not to tear too many fangs out," Levi said with a hint of softness peeking through his stressed tone. I smiled and nodded. "I love you too, try not to burn anyone's pack down just yet." He chuckled a before hopping off, leaving Ethan and I to ourselves. "Do you think someone is ratting on us?" He looked up at me as he shook his head while shrugging a little. "I would say no, but what if I'm wrong? I mean, hell, Thomas was my dad's beta." "Yes, but your dad was onto Thomas, remember? The journal and the rock on his desk. He had to know more, we just don't know all of that yet." "True, but still Char, how long did my dad go without knowing?" His eyes were heavy and his beast felt weary. We were both a little weary after everything. "We should sleep," he thought out loud. I looked down at his face to see tired blue-green eyes that were forced away by the pain ripping through him. His demons wouldn't let him sleep, and neither would mine.
