Chapter 32 Secrets and Lusts

Chapter 32 Secrets and Lusts

The subtle expression of ignorance faded, she stared at me coldly, her eyes losing its color right in front of me “What kind of question is that?!” She yelled at the top of her lungs, whisking her wrist away from my grip.

“I’ve been avoiding this question since I got here—for some reason, I thought you would tell me the truth yourself” I said firmly, clenching my fist.

“What truth? Your father died in a plane crash when you were little—I’ve told you this before, why do you keep dragging it on?” Her eyes bulged. She had become furious. I couldn’t care any less, all I wanted was an answer. “If you have nothing else to say—I have places to be at” she retorted, almost walking past me when I blocked her path.

“He was still alive till last year—wasn’t he?” I asked. The cold look on her face faded into suprise, she looked at me with horror, almost confirming the truth with her actions.

“Wh—who told you that?”

“So it’s true—he, I’m connected to the mafia and you lied, you lied to me, for all these years” I felt a tear trickle down my cheek. She looked slightly remorseful.

“It was to keep you safe—”

“Since when do you care about my safety? Huh mom? You get out with a lot of those lustful beings who stare at me like I’m some prize they win—I’m lucky to even be here talking to you—they all look like they’d pounce on me if they have the chance”

“Are you calling my boyfriend a cheat?” She retorted. I couldn’t understand if she was listening to all that I had just said.

“No mom—I’m calling him a pervert, a disgusting one and you know that!” I paused “You know the truth—tell me, what happened to my father and why didn’t you tell me about him?” I questioned, clenching my fists angrily.

“Your father has been dead for a long time—don’t ask me this again!” She yelled trying to push me out of the way. I wasn’t going to let her. I dragged her arm, pulling her back.

“I have a brother and I know it—we’ve met” her eyes widened with shock, the look of disdain written all over her face “I know you don’t want me to know the truth but at least be real with me—just this one time, are you really my mother?” I dropped the question like a grenade, waiting to explode.

She gnashed her teeth at me and turned to leave, rushing out of the house. Tears trickled down my cheeks, crouching down to the ground, I let my tears flow. My drowsiness and headaches moving along with it.

“Do you have an outfit?” I asked as I noticed him sitting right in front of his laptop, his eyes fixated on the screen. There was no response, I stared at him and then back at the screen.

“Are you even listening to me?” I got to his screen, agitated, turning his chair to face me when he grabbed onto my arm, pulling me to his lap. His eyes caught mine, a glint of mischief flickered in his eyes, his lips turned into a thin line.

“I love the fact that you want to use me to your taste” he chuckled “You look better when you’re fiesty and in my arms” I could feel his hands on my waist, pulling me closer, his eyes luring me, his lips calling into my force of passion.

“Just answer me” I jabbed at his chest, putting some distance between us as I stood up. I’m not going to let him win, not anymore.

“I don’t think I want to go—you didn’t ask me to come with and I dont think I’m cut for such petty things” he smiled. I wasn’t sure if he was teasing me or he was being serious, he went back to tapping his keyboard, ignoring my frozen state.

For so long, I have wanted a taste of revenge, to show them that I’m different, that I’m no longer the girl who would let them bully me into the walls and call me names that I don’t have and here he is, saying he’s not coming with?

“Did you just refuse?” I asked, anger in my tone as I squinted my eyes to watch the expression on his face go from a light smile to a smirk. He’s definitely playing with me right now.

“And so if I did?” He stood up to watch me. I looked up to him, watching his full height double up to mine, his long lashes fluttering above those beautiful eyes of his, he was right. I can’t keep pushing it just for some petty revenge plot I came up with just yesterday.

“It’s alright” I turned to walk away. I didn’t feel rejected but I also wanted to stop sounding like some maniac obsessed with taking someone down. Just as I walked inches away from him, I heard him curse under his breath, holding my arm and turning my face towards him.

“What is it?” I asked casually as he held me up to the wall, pinning my hands above my head. I didn’t seem to care. His eyes watched me, I looked down, he used his finger on my chin, raising my face to look at him.

He stared at my eyes and then my lips and then I felt his lips on mine. This is new, different, he would tease, maybe give me a hickey but never a kiss. My heart raced as he cupped my face in his hand. My body frozen at the touch of his lips, his hand on my waist pulling my body closer, I had begun to feel breathless.

Is this what it feels like? Being kissed.

I felt a sensation of heat go up my body, he pulled away from my face. I had been analyzing it so much that I didn’t know what to do “You’re mine—and whatever you want I’ll do for you, don’t forget that” I stood frozen, staring at his eyes, maybe sad, maybe confused, I couldn’t tell.

“That means you’ll come with?” That was the only sentence that escaped my lips. A smile formed on his.

“How does this look?” He pulled out a box from his pockets, raising it to my face, opening it, a necklace laid inside, it had a small pendant that looked like Diamond but it looked beautiful.

“What’s that?”

“It’s a token—a token of my love” he smiled, turning me to let my back face him, he placed the necklace around my neck. I touched the pendant, and it did feel different.

He turned me to look at him “If you ever have doubts—I hope this shows something, that I’ll always love and want you” there it was, a confirmation, something to hold onto. I wasn’t going to see myself as only his accountant, I’m his.

“Now tell me—why’s your face swollen? Don’t tell me you were crying” I had held it in all day, mother having to reject me and choose her boyfriends over her daughter, it made me feel unsafe all the while and now, only when I’ve found the truth—she wouldn’t give me her side of the story.

“After the reunion—we’re leaving, I think I’ve seen and heard enough” I smiled, my fingers holding onto the necklace.

“Whatever you say” he cupped my face once more before pulling me for an embrace. His heartbeat felt light, maybe slow, it didn’t feel like mine who always had rapid heartbeats at the scent of sandalwood and at the sight of his light green eyes.

We stood there, my arms around him as his around me, I didn’t want to let go “I’ll get some outfits ready before evening—just stay home” he smiled as he made his way out of the room.

“I’m really selfish aren’t I?” I mumbled under my breath before retiring to my room.

After a few minutes, I heard the door open. Did he forget something?

“Dante did you leave something beh—” there he was with that lustful gaze stuck on his eyes, he smiled at me and suddenly, I found myself retreating in steps.

“You’re the only one home—aren’t you?” He asked with a mischievous grin, his eyes on my top and then back to my face.

“No—I’ve got a friend over, she’s waiting for me” I lied, turning to leave when I felt his hand on my wrist.

“Oh how I’ve longed to have you” he cackled,

“Get away from me you pervert!” I screamed, whisking away his filthy hand from my arm. I turned to leave, just as I did, I felt something heavy on my head, the sound of metal clanking in my mind. I placed my hand on my head, I felt a damp substance, taking it to my eyes, blood.

I fell to my knees, the numbness reaching my limbs, I felt my body fall to the ground “You bch—you’ve been acting lik
e some hotshot since you got back—that man has had a taste of you, now it’s my turn”
