Chapter 666: That Was So Satisfying

Chapter 666: That Was So Satisfying

Chloe brought up Heaven's Gate.

She didn't explain what Heaven's Gate was all about. When Larry asked about it, Chloe said she knew nothing.

Larry's face turned serious.

For Heaven's Gate to pop up at this time was definitely not a good sign.

After thinking for a moment, he asked again: "Besides this new Heaven's Gate, what other news is there from the Martial Arts World?"

"Nothing else." Chloe nestled in Larry's arms. "The strong fighters who appeared at the Zephyr Order that day, except for Marc, none of the others have shown up. But things aren't looking too good in Aurora Citadel right now."

"Oh?" Larry was surprised. "What's going on in Aurora Citadel?"

"According to the news from Paisley, Marc came to Aurora Citadel a month ago. During this time, he's started getting involved in worldly affairs and created something called the Scott family. Now the Scott family is very powerful, getting involved in many businesses in the worldly realm. Even the Four Great Families have been suppressed."

"And..."

She paused, then continued: "Paisley is now the head of the Bennett family."

"Paisley, head of the Bennett family?"

Hearing this, Larry was truly surprised.

He never expected Paisley to become the head of the Bennett family.

"Yes." Chloe said softly. "She's not strong in combat, but she's quite good at managing the family."

"By the way, any news about Wilder and Cody?"

"Not yet."

After Larry returned and made love with Chloe, they talked about what had happened in Aurora Citadel over the past two months.

Apart from Marc causing trouble, nothing else seemed to be a major problem for now.

They chatted and then fell asleep.

Larry slept soundly.

When he woke up, he found no one beside him.

He rolled over and got up, got dressed, picked up his phone from the table to check the time, and found it was already past 10 o'clock.

He picked up the phone and called Frank.

The call connected quickly, and Frank's excited voice came through: "Boss, you finally called. I can barely hold on anymore."

"Are you in Aurora Citadel now?" Larry asked.

"Yes, I am," Frank said.

"Good, I'll come over in a bit."

After a brief call with Frank, Larry hung up.

"Honey, you're awake."

The door opened, and Chloe walked in carrying breakfast, smiling: "You must be hungry. Get up and have breakfast."

Larry took it, sat down, and wolfed it down.

"Mm, not bad. Chloe, I didn't know you had this skill."

This was the first time Larry had eaten something Chloe made.

The taste was pretty good.

"I've learned a lot during this time."

Chloe sat down beside Larry. "Honey, after we deal with things in Aurora Citadel, let's find a place where no one knows us and live a simple life, okay?"

"Okay."

Larry nodded in agreement.

"By the way, I need to go to the military district in a bit. Frank has been holding things down there all this time, and he must be under a lot of pressure. There are many things waiting for me to handle."

"Okay."

Chloe nodded. "I bought this estate as our place to stay in Aurora Citadel. If you don't like it here, we can move to your place."

"I like it."

Larry smiled.

Soon, he finished eating.

After eating, Chloe handed him his coat and reminded him: "Be careful."

"I know."

Larry took his phone and the Execution Sword and hurried out.

He took a taxi straight to the military district.

"Sir."

After entering the military district, the soldiers who saw him all showed respect.

Larry nodded, greeting the soldiers, and headed straight for the office.

Before entering Frank's office, he heard noise coming from inside.

"Frank, I'm telling you one more time, release him immediately, or you'll face the consequences."

Larry heard shouting from inside the room.

He pushed the door open and walked in.

In Frank's office, an old man in military uniform was pointing at Frank's nose and scolding: "This is Aurora Citadel, not Southwild. You don't call the shots here."

"Supreme Commander."

Frank, who had been sitting in his chair not daring to say a word while being scolded, saw Larry walk in and immediately stood up.

"It won't help even if Larry comes. You must release him," the old man said coldly.

"Is that so?"

Larry said calmly.

The old man turned around.

Seeing Larry, he shouted: "Larry, perfect timing. Release Brad immediately."

Brad, the head of the Ward family.

Earlier in the year, because of Melanie, Larry had dealings with the Ward family and arrested the family head Brad.

He had originally wanted to deal with Brad first.

But then many things happened, so he could only keep Brad locked up in prison for now.

Larry glanced at the old man.

The old man wore a military uniform with five stars on his shoulders.

He knew this person.

This was the former Supreme Commander, also Alistair's predecessor as Supreme Commander and the previous commander of the Legion of Flame Surge.

However, he was old now and had long since retired.

Even though he was retired and no longer in office, he still had extremely high prestige in the military.

"Mr. Donovan Stewart, what are you doing?" Larry glanced at him and said calmly: "If I remember correctly, you're almost 90 years old this year."

"Larry, release Brad immediately. There are many people you can't afford to offend," Donovan said coldly, with a threatening tone.

"Whether to release him or not isn't up to you."

Larry showed him no respect at all and said casually: "Brad has committed many crimes. Until we investigate clearly, we absolutely won't release him. You go back first. After I finish investigating, I'll personally visit you and give you an explanation."

"Larry..." Donovan gritted his teeth.

"Someone, escort Mr. Stewart back," Larry shouted.

Immediately, two soldiers walked in.

But when they saw it was Donovan, they looked at each other, standing there, not knowing what to say.

"What are you standing there for? Escort Mr. Stewart back now. He's so old. If something happens to him in the military district, can you take responsibility?" Larry scolded.

"Yes."

"Mr. Stewart, please."

Donovan stared at Larry and said coldly: "Larry, you'll regret this. We'll see."

With that, he waved his sleeve and turned to leave.

After he left, Frank immediately laughed.

"Boss, you're finally back. You don't know how much pressure this old guy has been putting on me. I could barely hold on. Only you would dare talk to him like that. That was so satisfying."
