Chapter 661: To Kill or Not to Kill

Chapter 661: To Kill or Not to Kill

Chloe's words startled Paisley.

She never expected Chloe to say something like that.

"Chloe, you?"

She looked at Chloe with confusion.

Chloe smiled, "Just kidding. But Paisley, you really need to work hard. Larry has many enemies now, and only when he deals with all these troubles can he truly retire. Otherwise, he can't live a peaceful life."

"I know." Paisley didn't think much of it. She looked worried, "I want to help Larry too, and I've been trying, but I'm just too weak. No one in the Bennett family respects me, plus with Tyrell... sigh."

Paisley let out a helpless sigh.

Chloe listened quietly without saying anything.

Although she didn't like Paisley, Paisley was really smart. With her helping Larry, Larry could save himself a lot of trouble.

And she could tell that Paisley liked Larry.

As long as Paisley could secure her position as head of the Bennett family, then with the Bennett family's reputation, she should be able to rally quite a few allies.

"I have other things to do. I'll go first."

Chloe didn't stay long at the Bennett Manor and turned to leave.

Paisley watched Chloe's departing figure and couldn't help frowning, "What's going on? Why do I feel like Chloe has changed so much? She seems like a stranger now, not the same Chloe as before."

She shook her head and didn't think much more about it.

Chloe left the Bennett Manor.

She booked a presidential suite at a five-star hotel in Aurora Citadel.

She took out her phone and called the person in charge of Cabinet Room in Aurora Citadel.

After making the call, she waited in her room.

About half an hour later, there was a knock at the door.

Chloe went to open it.

A man stood at the door.

He wore a black coat and a hat, with a black mask covering his face.

"Come in."

Chloe turned and walked inside.

The man followed behind her.

Inside the room, Chloe sat on the sofa.

The masked man in the black coat stood to the side.

Chloe glanced at him and ordered, "Take off your mask."

"This?"

The man hesitated slightly, then a hoarse voice came out, "Under any circumstances, we must wear masks and cannot show our true faces."

As soon as he finished speaking, a black sword was pressed against his neck.

The speed was so fast he didn't even have time to react.

Chloe said coldly, "I told you to take it off."

The masked man broke out in a cold sweat. After a while, he finally reacted and slowly removed the mask from his face.

Only then could Chloe see his face clearly.

He looked about forty, with ordinary features and nothing particularly special about him.

Chloe knew that this man was the person in charge of Cabinet Room in Aurora Citadel, one of the ten elders of Cabinet Room.

His cultivation was at the third realm.

As for anything else, she didn't know.

"What's your name?"

Chloe withdrew her sword, sat down, and asked casually.

"Re-reporting to the leader, my name is Grant."

"Mm, good." Chloe said, "From now on, you work for me. Everything I tell you, you cannot leak out, especially to Mr. Bennett. You cannot let Mr. Bennett know, otherwise..."

Chloe's expression was cold.

Her cold gaze made Grant's heart skip a beat.

A storm rose in his heart.

Was this still the same Chloe?

He remembered that just over two months ago, when Chloe first came to Aurora Citadel, she was just an ordinary young girl.

Now, just one look from her could make him tremble with fear.

"Ms. Lewis, aren't you asking me to betray Mr. Bennett? If Mr. Bennett finds out, I'll die."

"Die?" Chloe's face was cold, "Do you believe I could kill you right now?"

Chloe's cold expression let Grant know she wasn't joking.

He took a deep breath and asked, "Ms. Lewis, what do you need me to do?"

Chloe instructed, "Go investigate Tyrell from the Bennett family for me."

"The Bennett family?" Grant was stunned.

"Yes." Chloe nodded, "Before dark, I need to know everything about him. You can go now."

"Yes."

Grant didn't say much more and turned to leave.

After leaving the hotel room, he collapsed on the floor. He sat there for a while before standing up.

His expression was grave, unsure whether he should tell Richard about this.

But after thinking about it, he felt this wasn't really a big deal, so he didn't tell him for now.

He quickly left and began investigating Tyrell from the Bennett family.

Meanwhile, Chloe waited at the hotel.

Grant was fast. Before evening came, he had already returned.

"Ms. Lewis, all the information you wanted is here."

Chloe took the documents Grant handed her and carefully read through them.

Tyrell was from the Bennett family, Wilder's son.

Richard and Cody's uncle.

Years ago, he competed with Mandla for the position of family head. After losing, he left Aurora Citadel.

He only returned to Aurora Citadel recently.

The information showed his strength was at the seventh realm.

However, this was just speculation based on various signs. As for exactly which realm, that was unknown.

The information also showed that Tyrell had four top fighters under him.

All four of them were at the fourth realm.

After reading this information, Chloe waved her hand slightly, "Alright, you can go now."

Grant looked at Chloe and couldn't help asking, "Ms. Lewis, why are you investigating Tyrell?"

Chloe glanced at him and said coolly, "Don't ask questions you shouldn't ask."

"Yes."

Grant didn't ask any more questions and quickly left.

Chloe stood up and walked to the balcony.

This was the twenty-eighth floor. Standing on the balcony, she could see the brightly lit city.

"Tyrell..."

She murmured softly.

"To kill or not to kill?"

She began to hesitate.

Tyrell was from the Bennett family, Wilder's son, Richard and Cody's uncle.

If she killed him, what if Larry found out later and blamed her?

If she killed him, what if Grandpa blamed her?

But Tyrell was a stumbling block to Paisley becoming the family head. If she didn't kill him, how could Paisley secure her position in the Bennett family?

Without securing the Bennett family, how could she help Larry?

Chloe was torn.

At this moment, she couldn't make up her mind.

She was conflicted.

"Kill!"

After thinking for a long time, her expression carried a hint of determination.

However, she couldn't let Larry know about this. She couldn't let outsiders know.

She changed her clothes, found a mask, put it on, and went out.

The Bennett family.

Tyrell was meeting with some important family members.

"Paisley must die. To avoid complications, we should kill Paisley first."

Someone suggested killing Paisley.

In the main seat sat a white-haired old man.

His expression showed helplessness, "If I could kill her, I would have done it already. If we really kill her, Mandla won't let it go."

"Then what do we do?"

"No rush. She can't outplay me. I'll take my time playing with her..."

Just then, a gust of wind blew.

The door suddenly swung open.

"What's going on? Where did this wind come from out of nowhere?"

The Bennett family members in the room looked confused.
