Chapter 32
Chapter 32
|| AZRAEL DE LUCA'S POV ||
"What??", I growled at Matteo who just followed David inside. Because of this shit media, I booked the entire hospital. Not even a single soul was allowed to step in this boundary.
Matteo hung his head lowly, stating as a matter of fact,
" Forgive me, Luca. We.. weren't aware of this. Probably because of Miss Kiera, they are following us here. After all, she is popular now."
I sank my teeth into my lips in resentment. I should have been more careful. However, Kiera couldn't be exposed. Once the news of my child goes out, all those Russians will make her target. I wrecked my brain fast and finally had a plan. I furrowed tightly before ordering David,
" Call our helicopter over the rooftop. We are going back to it but don't let any single reporter come into the hospital..and you.."
I gritted my last word, turned to see her pale face,
" You aren't going out of my sight unless..we figure out how to resolve the situation..You are grounded inside my place from tonight.."
Her lips parted to say something but I went over to drag her to the stairs already.
A few minutes later, we were sitting inside my private helicopter. The reporters were in uproar as they struggled to get inside the hospital. Kiera muttered weakly next to me,
" Someone..must be following us..."
" Indeed!", I replied shortly, dimming my eyes at a distance. With my protection around, it was impossible to stalk her here unless someone had leaked the news.
Who was doing it from the shadows?
________
I pushed the door open to see him sleeping, curling up like a ball with his pillow. All the emotions burst inside my heart like wildfire. I walked over to him slowly, wishing that my presence wouldn't disturb his sleep. I felt like a grown man overnight. I had my baby now, my own flesh and blood. That little guy who smiled at my stone-faced monsters was none other than my own son.
Right at this moment, I really began to look back into our similarities. His passion for guns and his cold attitude all proved that my blood was running through my veins. I smiled subconsciously at the thought when I remembered that he was going to call me 'Dad' from tomorrow. I couldn't wait to tell him what he meant to me. Even without knowing each other's identity, we were bonded easily. I could tell that David and Matteo also liked his naughty presence.
The door opened and closed carefully. Without looking back, I knew who it could be. David stood right next to me, muttered softly,
" He woke up to look for his mother. We had a hard time, coaxing him."
In a moment, the happiness that I felt had vanished far away. Yes, Ryan, being my son wasn't the best thing at all because now he always had dangers behind him. I spoke, keeping my eyes stuck on Ryan,
" What do you think, David? Are they going to accept him?"
David replied confidently with a soft sigh,
" Your grandfather is a family man, Luca. He is never going to accept that you broke the rules, made by the Luca family. They are either going to ask you to kill Ryan or kill both."
I clenched my fists together, gritting in anger,
" I won't kill him.. Never..He is my son, David.."
David retorted, staring at my face,
" What about her? Will you kill her if your grandfather tells you to get rid of her?"
I lost my sense of answering because no matter how screwed up we were, she held a place in my heart. Besides, she kept saying that she didn't know it was me.
How was I going to take her life?
_____________
I opened the door of my room. The lights were still on and it looked like she couldn't fall asleep. She ran to me as soon as I entered,
" Where is Ryan? What did you do to him!"
I shot her at a glance, tugging on my shirt exhausting,
" Asleep! Besides, I am his father. Do you think that I would do something to harm her? "
Her lips curled up bitterly, tears rolling down from her eyes,
" Maybe you can. You aren't a human with a heart after all.."
My anger erupted in a second. I turned back before grabbing her chin fiercely, pushing her against the wall behind me. We both stood, only a few inches apart. Her eyes were still soaked from crying.
I spat my words on her face, groaning,
" You better be grateful that I didn't kill you, Kiera. Regarding Ryan, you have nothing to say because he is my heir. He is Luca's family's heir. My grandfather is going to decide his fate within a few days."
She jerked my hand off fiercely, growled back in a choking voice,
" What.. what did you mean by deciding fate? Ryan is my baby. I will choose how he leads his life. Please..Luca..I am begging you..I don't want anything from you. I just want my child back. I promise that no one will ever know your name as Luca's father."
My jaw clenched in rage. She didn't want my name as her son's father? Who did she want then? Her punk ex-boyfriend?
I replied firmly, staring hard into her tearful eyes,
" NEVER! Not after I know that he is my child. We follow some rules and protocols here, Kiera. Do not try to break them because it is something that would never happen. Ryan is my only heir. His place should be here right by my side."
She broke into a louder sob, whining and pleading,
" Luca.. Please...I have no one but Ryan.. don't.. take him away from me..You can have more children with others. But please... don't take Ryan from me.."
I hated to see her crying. Looking away, I swallowed hard uneasily because I had no clue what my grandfather would do for Ryan. But I would do everything in my power to keep them alive.
I blurted, turning around to head for the bed,
" Sleep! We will know the decision soon. But there's nothing I can do. Ryan is my heir, Kiera..My legacy will be incomplete without him.."
She sniffed a few times and rose on her feet. Her eyes turned red from crying. Her cold voice echoed in the room, sounding firm and determined,
" If your decision is to take my son away, we will meet each other in court, Luca. No power can stop me from fighting for my son."
