Chapter 95 Heartless!
|| Author POV ||
Rosa’s blood ran cold. Her heart stopped.
Is he going to kill her now? In that basement?
Her professor?
Rosa’s legs refused to move. Panic overtook her and she tried to twist away with a broken cry but Killian’s grip only tightened, yanking her forward without mercy.
Rosa’s cries grew louder, echoing in the air like the sound of breaking glass.
The door of basement burst open with a deafening clang. Killian dragged her inside, slamming it shut behind them and locked it with a loud click.
Rosa’s heart skipped a beat. Her eyes darted to the center of the dim, cold room. A man was tied to a chair. Alive but trembling. His face pale with fear, eyes darting to Killian like he was staring at the death angel.
Rosa’s knees nearly buckled.
Killian pulled her harshly against his chest. Her petite body trembled in his hold. He leaned down, his head tilting in a twisted, almost playful way and eyes unhinged.
“You’re scared?” he growled, glaring into her trembling face. “You’re so fucking scared of me that you tried to leave me?!” His hand clenched her waist hard.
Rosa’s teary eyes darted helplessly back and forth between his eyes. Her lips trembled. “Y-yo-y-you—”
“YOU WERE SO SCARED THAT YOU FUCKING TRIED TO ESCAPE ME? WHEN I DIDN’T EVEN HURT YOU!”
Rosa flinched violently at his voice. She shook her head weakly. Her lips trembled, searching for words that wouldn’t come.
“You haven’t even seen my true face YET!” Killian’s arm flew out.
BANG!
A loud soul-piercing gunshot tore through the room.
“AAAAH! Rosa screamed. Her hands flew to her ears and wide, terrified eyes snapped to the side. Her breath stuck in her throat.
He just killed someone in front of her.
Rosa’s hands dropped limply and her eyes locked onto the lifeless body. The bullet had pierced straight through the man’s skull. Blood was spilling from his forehead like a river.
Her breath vanished, then broke into another raw scream as she tried to run. Her legs stumbled in blind terror.
But she didn’t get far.
Her back slammed into Killian’s solid chest. His strong arm locked around her waist like iron, his palm flatly gripping her stomach, forcing her to face the horror.
“N-no. No.” Rosa whimpered, shaking uncontrollably.
His lips ghosted near her ear, voice laced with menace. “Watch, bunny! Watch me do things that will truly make you fear me!”
Killian’s sharp words only deepened her terror. The man before them was already a corpse, yet her wide eyes watched in horror when Killian raised his gun again.
Her feet stomped helplessly, “No! No! Stop! No!” Killian’s cold grip didn’t loosen as her trembling body thrashed in his arms.
“No! Please! stop! NO!” she cried with hysteria.
BANG!
Another violent shot echoed. Rosa’s scream tore from her lungs. Her knees gave out but Killian held her upright, forcing her to see the carnage.
The sound of death. Her scream.
“You see this?” he hissed venomously into her ear “This is the side of me you tried to run from!” he paused “A side I didn’t even show you, Yet! you tried to escape so desperately!”
Her body shook uncontrollably. Eyes fixed on the blood. The body and the monster holding her tight.
Witnessing a man die before her eyes twice was beyond anything Rosa could endure.
She wasn’t sane anymore.
Her mind spiraled into darkness. The sound of gunfire drilled through her skull. Another gunshot roared. Rosa screamed. Her entire body convulsed. She turned her face away, her palm falling on his hand that was holding her belly.
Rosa squeezed her eyes shut, tears streaming as her ears rang with the merciless sound.
Killian didn’t stop. He kept shooting over and over. As if he was taking out his rage. Even after the man was long dead.
Rosa couldn’t breathe. Her chest heaved fiercely and one horrifying thought clawed into her mind–It’s her turn now.
Killian pulled her arm, forcing her trembling body to face him. She couldn’t even meet his eyes, her sobs shaking her entire frame and gaze locked on the floor.
He gripped her chin roughly, lifting her face.
“Look at me.” his voice came dark “Is this what you’re scared of? Me?!”
Killian didn’t wait another second. His control was long gone. He yanked Rosa up roughly before tossing her over his shoulder like she was weightless. Rosa shrieked. Her legs kicked helplessly and fists slammed against his back in sheer panic while he stormed out of the room.
“Let me go! Stop! Mom-! No!” she wailed, her fists pounding against his back and her injured hand was forgotten in her panic.
Killian’s heavy boots stomped up the stairs. Each step made her heart pound louder. Soon the door burst open with a violent kick under his foot, slamming against the wall.
Rosa’s eyes widened in horror. It was his bedroom.
Killian locked the door with a harsh click, sealing them inside. He pulled her down. Rosa dashed toward the door and banged her fist on it. But Killian’s hand clamped around her arm. She shrieked, trying to jerk away.
“No! let me go! Let me out!”
Killian’s hand held her arm tightly, locking the door. Rosa stomped her feet on the floor, nearly jumping in fear and desperation but Killian pulled her waist, parting her away from the door.
Her eyes widened in pure horror stared up at the man who had just murdered someone before her eyes without blinking.
Rosa pulled away from him, stepping back in fear. Her innocent eyes trembled as Killian took off his blazer and tossed it asidem. The fabric hit the floor with a heavy thud.
Rosa stared at the locked door behind him. Her heart pounded, what was he going to do to her?
“Now–” his voice was unfeeling, “explain why you were running away.”
Killian stepped closer, his dead gaze locked onto Rosalie and it chilled her to the bone. Rosa’s back hit the wall. Her small frame trembled. Her eyes watched the monster in disguise as a man–a killer with no mercy, no soul.
“Tell me who gave you the permission to run with that tiny body that belongs to me?” Killian’s brow lifted, mocking her fear.
His blazer lay discarded, his sleeves rolled up and veins taut with fury.
Rosa’s voice cracked, walking back toward the massive bed without her knowing “Y-you’re a m-monster.”
Killian’s eyes darkened. “And you belong to this monster!”
Rosa shook her head. “N-no. You’re n-not human. Y-you’re a d-devil.”
A muscle twitched in Killian’s jaw. He stepped closer with a creepy smirk plastered on his handsome sharp features.
“Then you’re the devil’s!” his sharp eyes were throwing daggers at her.
Rosa’s back hit the wall with a soft thud, right beside the nightstand. “You k-kill. You’re a criminal. Y-you... kill–” she broke down, sobbing uncontrollably as he neared.
Rosa didn’t know this man anymore. His face, his presence, his eyes, even his soul, everything felt terrifyingly foreign.
Her knees shook, barely holding her weight while Killian’s towering figure loomed over her, casting a shadow that swallowed her whole frame.
“I do!” he said coldly, eyes void of any remorse.
“P-please... I don’t want this. D-don’t want to stay with y-you. Y-you’re a monster.” her eyes pleaded through tears.
Rosa tried to shrink away from the earth before Killian slammed his arms beside her head, trapping her between the wall and his towering form.
“Monsters don’t let go.” he hissed.
His eyebrows twitched. “How dare you run from me?” His eyes darkened into something feral. “ANSWER ME!”
Rosa sobbed, flinching under his voice. “H-how? How could-could you do this? How could b-be so heartless. You j-just killed a human. H-how could you?” she choked on her words. Her throat burned with helplessness.
Killian gritted his teeth. Fury blazed in his eyes. His hand shot out, gripping her arm tight. “That’s not what I asked! How dare you try to escape even after all those warnings?”
“You k-killed him...”
“He wasn’t innocent! He deserved to die!” Killian snarled.
Rosa shook her head, eyes wide with fear and disbelief. Her entire body quaked in his grasp.
Her eyes fell on his crushing grip, trying to free herself. “St-stop! I don’t want to stay with you! You k-kill people. Y-you’re a b-bad man. You p-played with me.” her voice faded under fear. “You used m-me!”
Killian’s eyes suddenly turned stone at her last accusation. The words sliced through him like a blade. His jaw locked before his voice dropped to a cold hiss.
“I didn’t use you!” he snapped with a sharp glare.
Rosa flinched at his harsh tone, shaking her head in fear. “Y-you used me.. you used my body-Ahh—!” Her words were cut off by the violent jerk of his hand yanking her closer.
“You. are. my. girlfriend! FUCKING MINE! I DIDN’T USE YOU!”
Killian’s roar echoed in the room furiously. His grip on her fragile arm tightened brutally as if he’d crush her bones without care. Rosa pushed at him, crying out in pain.
“No. I’m not. I... don’t want to be yours!” her tone rose with trembles.
Killian’s chest heaved with pure rage. His glare bore into her broken soul. Rosa’s head spun from fear and anguish, before she forced the next words past her trembling lips with an aching heart. And her words froze him in place.
“I—I break up with you!”
