The first shot shattered in the rare window without warning. Glass exploding across the backseat in a spray of glitter, instantively ducked her head extremely terrified and gasping for air.
"Ahhhhh...huhhhh." her chest burning really bad.
Just one second ago she was looking out the window trying to control her breathing, and the next the word around her was erupting with chaos.
"Down.. !" the guard bark immediately.
Lydia dropped low in the seat, the poor girls pulse was slamming violently against her ribs while another gunfire cracked throughout the air behind them. The SUV was moving sharply around a corner, tyres screaming against the wet road.
The smell of burning engines, shattered glass and at the same time the gun powder was filling the entire vehicle.
However, beside her, the guard lowered the rare window. Slightly and leained forward the opening, his expression frighteningly calm, despite the situation. Years of training had taken over completely.
While, Lydia felt panic crawling through her chest. The man beside her looked extremely cold, focused and attend composed.
One of the pursuing vehicle accelerated aggressively. They we write behind them, close in the distance far to quickly.
The guard was saw it immediately and his weapon was lifted.
A single gun fire range out through the morning is, and another came. The pursuing car jerked violently as it's windshield fractured. Ludia got a glimpse of the driver struggling to maintain control before the vehicle served dangerously into another lane. Horns erupting from nearby traffic as another driver scrambled out of the way, barely.
"Keep moving." The bodyguard screamed, shouting from the top of his lungs.
The driver did not need to be told twice. The SUV moved forward. Moving aggressively through the traffic, every turn felt very sharp then the last one. Every second stretched painfully longer than it should have.
Behind them. The remaining vehicles refused for behind. The state locked into their position with frightening determination.
All of them relentless and even her own men as well.
The guards fired again and this time, one of the man leained out of the persuing vehicle disappearing back inside inmediatly. The car drifted sideways for a moment before correcting itself and continuing to chase.
"They are not backing off."the driver muttered through clenched.
The bodyguards are narrowded slightly, and then he steadied himself. His movements became slow were but more deliberate.
He waited for the right moment. And look right at the nearest vehicle pushing closer again. Attempting to gain ground while traffik was thin around them and ahead of them. The bodyguard adjusted his am carefully this time. This man had not broken a sweat up until now. And very carefully he aimed squeezing the trigger almost immediately.
One shot, clean and very precise and that is all it was. The bullet struck the front tire almost immediately. Almost like it was invitable.
For half a second nothing happened. Then the tire exploded.
The pursuing vehicle immediately last stability. Lydia watched through the broken rare window as the driver for desperately against the steering wheel, trying to re gain control all over again.
It wasn't enough though, the car fishtailled violently across the road it was once and then twice and then it collect another vehicle with a lot of force.
The impact sent it spinning completely sideways. Lydia did not see that coming at all it happened also suddenly. The car was going sideways before momentum took all over it. The metal screamed against the road as the vehicle rolled and flipped hard enough to send debris shuttering across multiple lanes.
Glass versus shattered everywhere. Steel twisted and the sound echoed through the streets as the racket finalist slammed into the divider.
Lydia set his stomach twist painfully. She was not expecting that for them even though they will all here to kill her.
But the truth of the matter was that, the site was in fact horrifying and yet the SUV never slow down for anyone.
For the driver and the bodyguard this was nothing new. They did not break any sweat over it they did not even think it was an impact.
Rather they both were much more collected then she could have ever been.
And the driver kept moving forward more like he kept pushing forward.
More than anything else, he kept moving and pushing puting some distance between them and the wreck-kage behind. For the first time since the crash and the chase have become, the road behind them started to clear.
The bodyguard luck through the shattered window, studying the shrinking of in the distance before finally lowering his weapon. He had to make sure everything was perfectly fine.
"Two vehicles down." He said and the tribal let out a breath that he was holding on to for very long, clearly.
"About time." he driver said to himself. But neither of these men looked relieved. It was more of like they both have come to an understanding and knew, this was not the end.
And that is why neither of them relaxed. Mostly neither of them stop scanning the road around them either.
Because they both understood something she was beginning to understand as well. The attack on the house had been planned, the bombing around the house had been planned too.
And people will to do all of that were not going to give up after losing only two cars.
She decided to take a long breath now, understanding more was coming.
The SUV continue racing through the city while Lydia sad frozen in the back seat her shoulders were top and her teeth closed together. Her hands wet tumbling against her lab. Outside Italy continued moving as if nothing unusual what's happening. Unovate that somewhere within its Street, war was unfolding around a single woman.
And deep in her ch
est, adorable feeling refused to disappear.
It wasn't over, not even close. And so Lydia looked out the window. Inhaling strongly and then excelling. In her mind Sophia stuck for very long time.
All because the last time she saw her, Sophia was bleeding from her shoulder. And all of that because she was only trying to protect Lydia. And now she looked at both the men that we sitting with her, all this time doing there job as well. Protecting her.
And Lydia could not help but think. That she did not want them to get hurt either. Not while protecting her.
