Chapter 86 The First Target
That afternoon, Julia was still trying to find out what had happened to her husband. From morning until noon, she had been trying her best to knock on the door and tell him to at least come out for a shower or even breakfast. Julia was afraid her husband would lock himself away and drown in his busyness, which was by no means the best option. She didn't want anything to happen to him, let alone fall ill because of this huge problem.
"Kay, are you really not going to come out? You need to eat at least, and I don't want you to become weak from hunger, which isn't good, is it? I've prepared food for you many times, and I hope you come out soon so it doesn't get cold."
The first request went completely unanswered, until the woman finally asked again. And Julia hoped that this time her husband might be moved and come out, whatever the circumstances. "Aren't you a mafia member? Shouldn't you have a mental toughness like reading? Why, after finding out who killed your parents, are you so devastated and depressed? You have to get up. Slowly, slowly, you have to find the truth about everything that happened, and I'm sure you can do it very well, right? Tell me, whatever it is, so that at least I won't be worried and anxious about you, my husband."
Not long after, the television became incredibly loud. Julia had no idea why the volume suddenly reached her bedroom. She was about to go to the television room and turn off the power, as it was distracting, but she stopped when she learned something that left her in disbelief.
A new news broadcast live revealed that one of the most influential ministers in the country had died in a fatal accident while on a business trip and heading to the airport to leave the country. Julia's body was completely frozen, knowing full well that the man was one of the 13 suspects in the murder of her husband's parents.
Whether this was a coincidence or not, what's clear is that the death was so final, even CCTV footage clearly shows that it was a single-person accident, meaning no one could be a suspect in the case. Is it really true that the case was purely an accident?
"In the next 13 days, at least 10 more people will die, following my parents."
Kay left the room and stood in front of his wife. Then he grabbed his coat and left the apartment. Julia's body froze again. She couldn't believe this was her husband's doing. Wait, how could that be?
Julia ran as fast as she could to reach her husband, and finally, they both entered an elevator. She looked at him with a very serious gaze.
"Tell me, you don't want to take revenge like this, do you? Killing isn't a good thing at all, and it proves you're no different from them, Kay!"
Julia was utterly frustrated and angry. She didn't know what to tell her husband to stop doing something like this.
Kay said nothing; the man simply grinned with a terrifying glare. Even the look in his eyes was completely different from usual, filled with hatred and a deep sense of revenge, completely devoid of affection or warmth. "Oh really? Then do you think I should wait for justice to be served by the police? The police and the government are all the same; they're all suspects in my parents' murder. I don't think my parents will ever get any justice if I just sit idly by, so I'll take over their role of bringing all those shameless people to justice with my own hands."
"But—"
"I hope you won't interfere in my affairs today, and I don't care whether you're a member of the police or know about my situation or not. Because of course, until I've killed them all, I will never stop trying to kill them."
"Kay, can we talk this over? At least you should hear their reasons and at least you can understand why they killed your parents."
" "Isn't the reason so obvious? Why are you like this? Didn't you say you would help me uncover who killed my parents? After everything was revealed, you're acting like this, or are you unwilling to let Mr. Michelle end up being one of them, a victim of my own hands?"
Julia shook her head; she truly didn't mean it. However, it seemed her husband had truly misunderstood her and thought badly of her.
"It's not like that at all, you misunderstand. I just don't want you to end up like them, both criminals who have killed, and ultimately be tried not as the victim's child, but as a suspect in murder. I don't want that to happen, Kay."
"In fact, I don't care about the rest of my life anymore. All I care about is how I can avenge everything that happened to my family. Because that's been my goal from the start; there's nothing else. And if you object to what I'm doing, I'm truly giving you a very good chance: get as far away from my life as possible so you won't be involved in this matter and won't face any punishment for it."
Kay simply left, looking desperately wanting to leave his wife, who was still in complete shock.
Julia cried in the elevator, letting it continue to go up and down, not even wanting to get out.
Julia was devastated, shocked, and didn't know what to do.
On the one hand, Julia felt that what Kay was experiencing was a truly painful injustice.
But on the other hand, Julia also knew that it wasn't a good thing at all.
But even if Julia remains silent, it won't be a good thing because there will never be a way out.
So what should Julia do now to make things better? She's confused about what decision to make.
