Chapter 80 "I am that child"
Mr. Michelle swallowed hard, a question that truly left him utterly defeated. He hadn't expected a man to come and say something so spine-chilling. This wasn't about him trying to figure something out, but rather about justifying something, and it was so utterly contradictory to various options they shouldn't have considered in the first place.
Mr. Michelle then looked at the man before him and smiled wryly.
"It was such a terrible incident. Even the government and the police were unable to defend that poor boy. More than that, I didn't expect it, and I don't know how to describe it. A process that would require such special considerations, and that process truly raised such extraordinary questions. No one would ever think this through so thoroughly. Ultimately, we will all learn that a path will never be straight and that it will always be forever bad."
“Why do you say it’s a bad path? Isn’t that one of the reasons we all need to know a few things that are certainly a consideration for you or for anyone who might have the idea if this is the only thing that should be accounted for or even nothing at all. From the beginning, there was nothing that could possibly have an impact that shouldn’t be like this, and I saw the news really hurt so much. I can’t imagine what it would be like for that boy to lose his parents before his very eyes and then the government and the police seemed to turn a deaf ear and blind their eyes as if they didn’t want to see what was happening. And strangely, I also heard rumors that there was a phenomenon that was so sad beyond anything else. Namely about how everything suddenly changed, the shares owned by that man had government interference. Aren’t you the head of this country’s elite police team, is it a matter as simple as this that you are unable to find out? Is it a matter as simple as this that you still feel that this is something that you can say something so terrible about? I really don’t expect whatever is currently going on with you and everyone else Think about it. Even a death case could earn you an incredible reward if you could solve it. Or is your silence a sign that you're involved in this matter?
Kay continued to pressure Mr. Michelle, making the man not even know what to say.
The man was confused as hell and didn't even know what to say, as if there was a choice before his eyes and it was a choice so incredibly complicated that no one would ever be able to grasp. Mr. Michelle, truly could only remain silent like a fool and in the end there would never be a single thing that made them believe whether this was real or not or anything else. And who could this man be? The husband of one of those who suddenly became knowledgeable about several things that should not be known and of course this was something? Which was so very terrifying. In fact, it seemed quite suffocating every time the man tried to recall the times that should not be remembered by anyone. And he felt so very friendly about some of these things that happened. "You're asking this as if you're the victim's family, currently demanding justice from me. And yet, I'm completely unable to answer any questions at this point. I admit there are some things I shouldn't have told you, and of course, this also contains many issues that could ultimately violate regulations in some key areas. I also don't want you to misunderstand, and ultimately, we all know what should and shouldn't be done. This is an old issue, a wound that everyone has tried to cover up, but I will never make any statement to you because, of course, this is an individual matter and also a personal matter for the victim."
Kay's jaw tightened at Mr. Michelle's words. The man had never expected Mr. Michelle to ultimately decide not to say anything. The old man chose to gulp down the drink on the table, then lowered his head and tried to avoid it. "So what's your problem? You asked me to come here like this, surely there must be a reason, right? If you said earlier there was a problem you wanted to ask me and now you're bringing up another problem, I don't think you have any problem.
It would be much better if you and I went home first, as I have so much work to complete. Of course, we all know this isn't a case that can be revealed publicly, especially you, who are just an observer. And I also don't know how you could have followed this case to the point where you even knew that there were shares in a family company owned by the government.
"You don't know, or are you pretending not to know? I thought you were a very honest police officer, and even upheld a very real integrity that no one could ever surpass. Then suddenly you said something so stifling that it makes me quite disappointed in your presence now. I thought you knew a lot before I said anything about my family's problems. However, it seems instead of knowing a lot, what I see now is that you are nothing more than a very narrow-minded person who will never understand how others try to survive the harsh trials of such savages. You know, I once read a book with a gold cover, and even inside it was filled with very strange symbols."
Kay looked back at Mr. Michelle, who had now fallen completely silent. The man was completely tense and even shot Kay a sharp glance.
“What are you trying to get from me? Are you trying to blackmail me?”
“Blackmail you? How can I feel like I’m blackmailing you? Is that book the only way I can blackmail you? If so, I find it incredibly exciting. The symbols are ones I’ve never known, and they’re incredibly strange. The book titled “The Court of Heaven” is a book I could never have imagined, and it’s the only book I’ll ever be able to decipher.”
