Chapter 33 Falling In Love
Throughout the evening after dinner, Julia remained completely silent. She didn't say a word, but continued to stare at her husband silently, then smile. For some reason, she felt so strange. Julia couldn't figure out how she could be so flattered, even feeling that her husband had been looking so incredibly handsome and incredibly handsome lately.
"Why do you keep looking at me like that? Have you never seen a handsome man?"
"Yes."
Kay was shocked to see his wife say that. The man immediately slowed down his car and looked at Julia with an incredibly intense gaze. He hadn't heard correctly? His wife had confirmed what he said, hadn't she? It was incredibly strange for Julia to say such a thing, and Kay was even more shocked.
"Are you sleepy?"
Julia shook her head.
"I'm sure you're drunk or even dozing off, right?"
"No, I'm telling you this directly. Is there something strange?"
Kay was silent for a moment trying to think about what happened that made his wife say something like that until finally the man understood that most likely at this time his wife might still be thinking about some of the flattery he had just said in front of his wife's two friends that made his wife feel flattered or even carried away by her feelings. The man then fell silent, no, not because he wanted to make his wife feel unappreciated by his words whether they were true or not, it was just that according to him now being loved by a woman or even his wife was not something that was an option and if possible it had to be stopped immediately. This was just a fake marriage, and soon this marriage would end so easily, and Kay did not want there to be a relationship that would ultimately bring harm to his wife. He already understands what his job is, he already knows very well how this job becomes so very good and so on, he is a mafia who is definitely against the law and is always overshadowed by a very extraordinary death process, and of course this is something that will never be possible because whoever his partner is in the future will definitely be threatened with his life and that is not something good, one of the reasons why he has chosen to be alone is because he does not want to involve anyone he loves so much into his life until in the end the person he loves is harmed.
It was enough that he lost his parents in such a terrible way without even committing any crime, and now he would never repeat the same thing of losing someone he loved. Moreover, now he had become so very strong, this sign was the main reason for his feet to be able to act more decisively or even try to eradicate the fear that was inside him. Moreover, all this time his life's goal was to avenge the death of his parents, therefore he didn't want to think about other problems such as love problems or whatever, and he had to focus on his life before he really let go of everything then returned to normal life and had a lover. "Of course you would say that. Who doesn't know how handsome I am? Even women have probably never seen my extraordinary, radiant beauty. I hope you're not exaggerating. What I said a while ago is certainly different from the truth. I had absolutely no intention of flattering you, let alone thinking that I might love you. Didn't we agree that whatever happened between us, no matter how sweet we were to each other, was all just an act and nothing more. Just like what I said in front of your two friends, it was all just an act that meant nothing to me."
As if struck by lightning in broad daylight, Julia could only remain silent, her feelings in turmoil. She had never expected her husband to say something that would completely destroy her heart and feelings. The hope she had just built up turned into something she could never have imagined, and she was at a loss for words. Julia's facial expression, which had previously looked so happy and blushing, turned sour or even sad and suddenly the woman didn't say anything at all.
Meanwhile, Kay could only suppress the tightness in his chest. What he had said earlier in front of his wife's two best friends was truly his own heart. He didn't want to give his wife any hope. Even though they had done so much as husband and wife, that certainly wouldn't change the reality: he was the head of the mafia, and that didn't suit Julia at all. Moreover, his wife was a member of the special police force tasked with capturing or even killing him.
"It would be much better if you always hated me, because that would be much easier for all of us to go through this whole charade than for you to harbor ill feelings for me. Remember, aren't we actually enemies? You were destined to capture or even kill me, while I am a man who has committed such extraordinary crimes. I'm used to killing, I'm used to stealing, and there's nothing about me that's so good that it makes you feel so weak about my existence or my feelings. I hope you'll keep this all to yourself and stop saying things that make me feel like I'm not you."
"Sorry, maybe I just got carried away. You don't need to discuss this anymore because it's all irrelevant."
Julia chose to sleep in a "you're with mom" position, closing her eyes even though her ears heard everything perfectly well. A romantic song was playing in the car, making her feel even more claustrophobic. There shouldn't be romantic songs, there shouldn't be "I love you" everywhere, which made Julia feel heartbroken.
Upon arriving at Julia's apartment, she immediately rushed into her room, leaving her husband alone. She then chose to clean herself and go to sleep. Kay didn't go into the room at all that night, the man chose to sit on the sofa in the darkness while enjoying the wine on the table. His feelings were now mixed together, somehow, just because his wife's expectations were able to make him so unsteady, even difficult to sleep. There were so many questions, so many thoughts, and even that was enough to make Kay not know how to make the best decision about everything that had happened. Or should he not make love to his wife from now on? Because he was afraid that his wife would expect more and that was not a good thing at all. The man again wiped the glass very roughly, he could not deny that making love to Julia was addictive, slowly her name had become very real in his heart.
