Chapter 32 To Be Closer
"But usually, when there's a very famous businessman, some high-ranking government official will introduce him to me. It's an exception, I didn't even recognize you, and I even recognized you here." Mr. Michelle began to feel suspicious, until Kay finally smiled in response.
"I don't even call myself a famous businessman at all, do I? I'm just an ordinary businessman, and I don't think you need to make a big deal out of it. There are certainly many more people with higher positions than me, and that's perfectly normal. So, you don't need to think that I might be one of them or anything like that, because to me, that's completely pointless. I'm just an ordinary man trying to be with the woman I love, and nothing more."
Mr. Michelle couldn't help but smile, his chest tightening, and then he closed his eyes completely. Finally, he noticed something that made Mr. Michelle frown: a mark on Kay's nape.
"Do you have a tattoo?"
"Of course, I did this on purpose after seeing some really cool tattoos online. So I made one. Isn't it so much fun? It looks cool, and it makes me look like the most mysterious man the world has ever seen."
Hearing this made Mr. Michelle laugh. He probably never imagined that Julia's husband would have such a strong sense of humor, or even have a childlike side that always wanted to be considered cool by others. It really seemed hilarious.
"I have a suggestion: It would be better if you get a tattoo with an animal or something like that. Because with Roman numerals like that, you definitely need to know the meaning of the symbols on yours. I'm afraid yours has a completely different meaning, but you don't know it, and wouldn't that be quite dangerous for you?"
Kay smiled with such a sharp gaze that the man then softened again and smiled gently at the man in front of him. Meanwhile, Julia, who knew the meaning of the tattoo, could not say anything but remain silent while gripping her own hands with a very tense expression on her face. Did Mr. Michelle not know that her husband's tattoo was a symbol of one of the most terrifying members in this world? In fact, Mr. Michelle had discussed it many times when talking to Julia, and what was even scarier was that her husband even seemed to flaunt it and seemed to provoke trouble or even oppose it as if he wanted to know whether Mr. Michelle understood the tattoo or not. A debate was so intense in Julia's mind that she wanted to go home and take her husband away from Mr. Michelle right now. "Just so you know, sir. The man who spread this has a lot of tattoos on his body—not many, but several, and they're quite annoying. Perhaps his childhood dream of being a gangster is the reason he looks so annoying. In fact, every time he sees a tattoo, he always stands in front of the mirror for a long time, then smiles to himself. I've told him to be careful when choosing tattoos; some might misunderstand him, but he seems completely clueless and doesn't understand, just picking them because he thinks they're cool. He's so childish, and I never thought he had such an annoying childish mind."
Hearing this, Rebeka immediately grabbed her friend's hand. The woman glared at her friend as if she wanted to tell her friend that she shouldn't say things like that in front of her husband, especially in front of so many people like this, as it seemed to belittle her husband's self-esteem. "Don't say that, especially to your husband, Julia. After all, your husband probably has some hobbies he couldn't indulge in when he was younger, and I don't think having some cute tattoos is a bad thing. There are some men in this world who do the same thing, and I think it's perfectly normal."
"But look—"
"Come on, why are you guys always arguing like this? I'm like a child, at least it doesn't matter to me. My wife is like that, always acting like a grown woman and even looking at me like a child. She's not my mother or my grandmother, but she acts like an old woman who's lived in ancient times."
Julia was embarrassed to hear this, while her two friends burst out laughing at Kay's sarcasm. And that dinner was truly a courtship, so smoothly they seemed to get to know each other, making this relationship seem incredibly intimate. "I never thought I'd meet my best friend's husband, and he's such a delightful person. A far cry from my best friend's ex-boyfriend who always made the shoe cry. If you ever have a problem, don't hesitate to tell us, and we'll be ready to help. If you ever feel like there's something that annoys you about this woman, don't hesitate to ask us or just share your thoughts, because we're ready to help you stop this annoying woman from saying things that are even more annoying than before. Never be afraid to speak up, and I hope you can always make her happy. It's true that on the outside, she seems uncaring, and even rude, but believe me, she's a very loving woman, and she's a woman who always gives the best things in the world to anyone she loves. She's a soft-hearted woman, she's a crybaby, and she's even a fearful woman, even though she's worked on one of the successful female police teams, which is not what we imagine. Not strong, not great, and not like a man. I entrust this ugly woman to you, and I hope you can make her happy."
Rebeka's words left Kay speechless for a moment, before he nodded his head fully and kissed Julia on the cheek in front of his two friends.
"I assure you that your friend will always be happy with me. Even though my life is not easy and full of threats, even my own life is a threat that no one can ever overcome. But I can assure you that her smile and life are my top priorities and I will always miss her more than anything else in this world."
Julia looked at her husband in the opposite direction, the two of them staring at each other with an incredibly intense gaze. She couldn't deny it at all; she was starting to feel something she absolutely shouldn't be feeling right now. Was Julia falling in love with Kay? If so, it would be unimaginable, and it absolutely shouldn't be happening.
"Julia, can you stop looking at your husband like that? Don't make Mr. Michelle and I into mosquito repellent!" Rebeka protested.
Julia immediately laughed, her face bright red. She tried to avoid it, but of course, it was no use. And now, finally, Rebeka knew that her friend was truly in love, and this was a marriage based on love that no one had made.
