Chapter 97: Mistake
Chapter 97: Mistake
“Go deal with Mason and Byron. I’ll be okay.” Klare told her little girl.
“I’ll keep you and Tarby posted.” Ollie promised.
“I’ll go with them.” Kristy said.
“Mom, I’ll see you after we deal with this asshat and his mate.” She hugged her mom. Ollie hurried out of the conference room and to the hospital.
Zoltan wrapped his arm around her waist. He kissed her temple. “Let’s go deal with this problem child and get to your mom.” He whispered.
She nodded, “let’s get this over with,” she sighed. Zoltan held her hand and they walked side by side. They stood tall with confidence.
Mason stood at the front and Amber stood to the side of Mason, but she stood behind Mason. They should be standing side by side not one standing behind the other. They didn’t stand with confidence; Amber was hunched down. Byron and Mary stood next to Mason, not behind him but next to him.
Zoltan and Safyer stopped in front of them with the empty field between them. “You do realize that the four of you will not be leaving here. As for Amber’s parents, they are being escorted here. They will stand trial for assisting the wanted criminal, David Blackwell escape.” Safyer said with a smirk.
“NO! My parents have nothing to do with this.” Amber stated.
“We have nothing to worry about.” Mason snickered. “Once I kill you,” he pointed to his big brother, “I will pardon them and life the death warrant on all of us.”
Austin and Rollins busted out laughing, “they think they can just pardon themselves.”
“What are you talking about? Of course, I can I’ll be the kind, and I will be able to do whatever I want.”
“You really are stupid.” Safyer snickered.
“When there’s an issue involving the Royal family, the Elder Counsel are the one’s who set the punishment and no one else.” Safyer smirked.
“So, you pardoning yourself or your family, isn’t gonna happen.” Austin snickered.
“It’s to make sure that leadership is held to a higher standard.” Vega said, raising his brow. “The Royal family are always held to a higher standard. We are the ones to be examples to our people. It’s also our duty to protect our people from those who would harm them.” Vega finished.
“So, Mason, are you ready to do that?” Zoltan asked, “are you ready to put others above yourself?” Mason frowned and made a face. “That’s what I thought.” Zoltan snorted.
“The only thing that matters is that I, Mason BlueStone, challenge you, Zoltan BlueStone, for the title of Alpha King and for Alpha Queen LaRea Sabel Blackwell.” He said. Safyer laughed. “What’s so funny?”
“If you’re going to make a challenge then you need to challenge the correct male.” She said.
Mason huffed, “what are you talking about? I challenged my brother.” He scoffed.
“He’s no longer Bluestone.” Vega smirked.
Byron shook his head, “what do you mean, he’s no longer a BlueStone?”
“Well, I, Jordon and Lacey decided that we no longer want to be associated with the name BlueStone.” Zoltan explained.
“I agreed with Zoltan. You’ve brought nothing but pain and shame.” Jordon stated.
“We’ve decided to change our last name.” Lacey said.
“You can’t just change your name.” Byron scoffed at the idea. “Besides what would you change it to?”
“Well, since you asked, allow me to introduce you to Jordon and Lacey Lutz.” Safyer smiled, “and your Alpha King Zoltan Blade Lutz.”
“What?! You can’t, only females take their mates... husband’s name.” Byron spluttered.
“You have no say in this matter!” Zoltan snapped, “I will not have my pups carrying a name that has brought nothing but pain.”
“It doesn’t matter I challenge you for the Alpha King title and ALL that goes with that title.” Mason rolled his eyes.
“What makes you think that I’d allow you to get near my mate, much less allow you to claim her?” Zoltan snorted. “Besides, you have your mate.” He pointed to Amber. “How do you think she feels standing there by your side, listening to you challenge for not just a title but his FORMER mate, who rejected him because he already had a chose mate. Let me think,” he tapped his chin, “she’s the Alpha Queen and you think by challenging me, you’ll be the new Alpha King.” He sighed and looked at Byron. “I guess you didn’t teach him what he needed to know as an Alpha. I’m more than happy to accept your challenge but you should know that either way, you my little brother, are going to die, along with your father.”
“If, I may, my King,” Elder Jacsyn interrupted, “I think we can offer a change.”
“What is it, old may?” Mason disrespectfully said.
Safyer grabbed Mason and threw him across the field and then quickly pulled him up, “you will NOT ever disrespect my grandfather again.” She warned.
Zoltan wrapped his mate in his arms, “sweetcheeks, please calm down, it’s not good for you and our pup.” He whispered.
“LaRea’s preg...” Mary started.
“I am NOT LaRea!”
“Take them to the challengers tent!” Vega ordered.
“Safyer Sabel, my love, my Sweetcheeks,” he whispered with a side smile. “I got this.”
“BlueStone or Lutz, it doesn’t matter I challenge you! Do you accept or not?” Mason growled.
Zoltan rolled his eyes, “are you in that big of a hurry to die?” He asked.
“NO! I’m in a hurry to kill you!” Mason smirked, “you took what was mine. All I’m doing is taking back what is MINE.”
“You knew I was your mate when your wolf emerged and you still fucked around with other she-wolves. You didn’t care what that was doing to me. You stood there and let another female stick her tongue down your throat. You had the female you wanted but yet, you didn’t want to let me go. You wanted me as your back up mistress.” She started. “I don’t take sloppy seconds, so I was the one who had to reject you. You saw me as weak; you didn’t even give me a chance. You even threw away your chosen mate after you killed her true mate. You could’ve had a great life sharing a mate, but you just keep making mistake after mistake.” She told him.
“Mason,” he looked over and saw Sara.
“What are you doing here?” He snapped. “I have nothing to say to a traitorous whore like you.”
“Me? A traitor,” She scoffed. “You are the one who took me as a chosen mate, even when you found out that Safyer was your true mate. When I found Brad, I tried to reject him, but I couldn’t. I wanted him and I wanted you. I loved you. I fell in love with you and not because of any bond, but because you were you. Brad was ready to build a life with both of us. You’re the one who decided I was no longer worth your time or love.” She continued, “but you had to go and ruin my life just because you were unhappy and felt betrayed. The Goddess is the one who chose the paths our lives would take. I miss you and I miss Brad. You could’ve raised this pup as his daddy, but you were to good for any of that.” Mason was standing there staring at Sara. “Nothing to say?” she asked. “Of course, not.” She huffed.
Mason snorted, “this is one mistake I can correct.” He growled.
“This will be the last mistake you ever make.” Zoltan smirked.
“Fighters! Take your places!” Vega bellowed.
“So much for your warmup.” Zoltan said, as he took off his shirt, shoes and socks. He tugged Safyer with her to his side of the field.
“Please be careful,” she said, “I don’t trust him. Austin and Rol are going to keep an eye on Byron and Mary, just in case they try anything.” She explained. “I also have Iz, Vi and Kat watching Amber and the others.”
“Try not to worry.” He kissed her forehead between her eyes. “Go stand with Tarby.” He told her before he leaned down and gave her a kiss filled with all his love for her and their pup. “I love you.” He whispered.
