Chapter 316 Death Sandwiches

Chapter 316 Death Sandwiches
ADRIANA

I just sat there on the floor, thinking about my life.

I felt quite weak and I was really hungry. My stomach made a noise and Hazel heard it.

“Was that you?”

I nodded. It was funny how the two ladies in the cell passed out and till now, they haven't moved an inch.

“Dont worry about it. I'll look for something to eat for you.”

We were both in the cell. How would she find me something to eat? Besides, we both needed to eat. Not just me.

An officer came back with fresh breath mints and opened our cells.

“Look sharp. The father of the boy you took wants to see the two women who caused such a ruckus yesterday. You should have planned your escape better.”

If we had truly kidnapped the kid, there is no way they would have never found us because as soon as we left the bar, that's the last time anyone will see us.

But I just left them to believe what they wanted to. It was obvious everyone here was a knuckle head and I didn't have the time to engage them.

If they were going to take us to the Commissioner today, then that was better. Maybe he will know me and ask his men to remove me from this bondage.

When that officer left, another one came with a bag of chips and soda can.

“That is  what you get. You're really lucky, getting food like that around here.”

I looked at the bags of chips..what was I supposed to do with them? Was this  breakfast?

Hazel surely read my face and spoke to the officer on my behalf.

“Can I get a sandwich? Just one, for her. Or if you can get more than one, that's fine. Just a sandwich.”

The officer gave her a look and then walked away.

Oh well, I guess we were stuck with prison food.

“Adriana, you can have my bag of chips and drink. It's fine.”

Now she was just being ridiculous.

“Hazel, what about you? Won't you eat? You can't keep giving me all your food.”

She didn't respond to me and I just kept her food so that she would eat it later. I knew she was hungry but she would try to make sure I eat first.

When she saw that I didn't touch hers, she looked at the food and then turned away.

To my greatest surprise, the officer returned with two sandwiches and handed them to her.

Without saying anything, he walked away. I guess she had just saved himself from trouble.

“Now, will you finally eat?”

She gave me a look as she handed me both sandwiches and I took just one.

“I ate my bag of chips already. Eat, you need strength.”

Thankfully, we finished eating before the guards came and said that it was time to leave so we dropped everything, got cuffed and went outside.

I never thought I'd say that but it was good to see the sun again even though it was so hot.

I wonder how they could kidnap us for kidnappers. Did we even look like we had something like that planned?

This time around, Hazel and I sat in the same car. Even though I was surprised, I didn't say anything so that the officer won't remember and then change me to another car.

“No matter what they say, don't agree to anything. Just stay quiet until we are able to see Tobias.”

“Be Quiet back there! You're going to jail, not a Taylor Swift concert. It's sad to see pretty faces like yours go down for this.”

Screw him. He wouldn't have a brain even if it was thrown at him.

I didn't feel so good. Maybe it was the fact that I'd smelt a lot of terrible things yesterday or maybe I was nervous or maybe it was because I hadn't eaten any proper food in a while.

Or maybe it was the fact that I was in jail!

I just rested my head on the window.

“Please open the window. I need to throw up.”

I could feel it rising.

The officers laughed.

“Do you think we're stupid? I should open the window so you can run away? No way baby. Throw up in the car.”

I felt Hazel's hand on my leg.

“What’s going on?”

“I don't know. I just know I need to throw up. I-i don't feel so good.” My stomach lurched. I twisted my face and waited for the wave of nausea to pass.

I don't even know what that officer put in those sandwiches. But Hazel would have been sick too.

“Can you guys open the damn window? Can't you see she's sick? Or maybe you enjoy cleaning vomit out of your car.”

It was almost in my mouth.

“Please…”

The car finally stopped and as soon as I smelt the fresh air, I emptied out my stomach contents onto the side of the road.

Hazel was standing behind me, rubbing my back and holding my hair out of my face.

“You should have been cleaning this out of your car. That will be so fun to see.”

She handed me a bottle of water and I rinsed my mouth with it.

“Do you feel better now? Do you still wanna go?”

I shook my head at her..I'm very sure that's everything that was in my stomach between yesterday and today.

Great, so I'm back to being hungry.

“Can you guys hurry that up? We have somewhere to be.”

I'd completely forgotten about that.

“Aren’t you supposed to take her to the hospital or something?”

“Baby girl, I'm a police officer, not a welfare officer. I don't care what's happening to her as long as I get her to the district office.”

“You stupid bastard-”

I stood up immediately because I didn't want her to keep exchanging words with them.

“Let’s go, I'm fine.”

I didn't feel good but I just wanted to get out of here and get this over with.
