Chapter 168

Chapter 168
Asher's POV

“Bow, Jason. Feel what it’s like to kneel before someone you thought to be weak.”

I let the words hang in the air, watching him freeze, chest heaving under his armor. His eyes flashed with disbelief, a mix of anger and shame.

Every guard in the hall shifted nervously, sensing the sudden shift in power.

I advanced slowly, each step deliberate. Jason tried to straighten, to meet me eye to eye, but his legs trembled just enough to betray him.

I could see the pride cracking in his posture, the rigid control he had relied on melting under my gaze.

A grunt escaped him as I landed the first controlled strike, just enough to send him staggering backward.

His fists rose instinctively, but I was already moving, precision guiding every blow.

The hall echoed with muffled thuds as my attacks landed, each one asserting dominance without spilling more blood than necessary.

“You wanted this,” I said, letting my words press against him like the weight of the walls. “You demanded respect, and now you’ll understand the cost of your arrogance.”

Jason’s lips twisted, a snarl forming, but it was half-hearted.

I could feel the tension in his guards tighten, uncertain whether to intervene or freeze. Their hesitation only reinforced the control I held over the room.

I struck again, slower this time, measuring his movements. Every shift he made, every clench of his jaw, told me exactly where to land next.

He stumbled, knees bending, and for the first time, I saw him consider compliance over defiance.

“You’ve spent so long believing you were untouchable,” I continued, stepping close enough that my voice brushed against his ear. “And yet here you are, facing the truth of weakness.”

A heavy silence fell, broken only by his shallow, ragged breathing.

I moved behind him and pressed lightly on his shoulder, guiding him down.

His resistance was half-hearted now, pride contorting into reluctant acceptance.

The room held its breath, watching as the man who had sought to humiliate me found himself kneeling at my feet.

Every eye was on us, the tension so thick it nearly stung my skin.

I stepped back, letting the gravity of the moment sink in. Jason lowered his gaze, posture slumped, a flicker of realization in his eyes.

“Good,” I said, voice steady, coldly satisfied. “Feel it. Learn it. Remember it.”

He swallowed, trembling, unable to meet my stare.
And for the first time, the hall was truly quiet, all power settled into my hands.

Phina's POV

“He’s the one responsible for my parents’ deaths.”
I stepped forward, my wolf moving beside me, low growl vibrating through the hall.

Every eye turned, every whisper dying into stunned silence as I pointed toward Alpha Thorn. Too bad, his daughter, Layla, wasn't there. I planned to make that spoilt cretin go through a lot for making my life miserable while I had been in their pack. But then, what I would do to her father would be enough to affect her as well.

His smug posture faltered for the first time in years, and I could see the faint flicker of guilt and fear cross his face.

“I trusted him,” I continued, voice steady, carrying across the stone walls. “I believed he protected our pack, yet he built his throne on lies and betrayal. My parents’ blood paved the way for his rise.”

Murmurs rippled through the crowd, a mixture of disbelief and shock. Guards shifted, nobles gasped, and even Jason’s gaze sharpened with curiosity.

I felt the weight of their attention, the electric tension thick in the air, every heartbeat syncing with mine.

My wolf nuzzled against my leg, grounding me as I held Thorn’s gaze.

The man had once seemed untouchable, but now, under the light of truth, he looked smaller, fragile.
I let my words linger, letting the hall feel the magnitude of the revelation.

“You manipulated everyone,” I said, taking another step forward, voice rising with controlled intensity. “Your rise to alpha was built on the lies you whispered, the fears you planted. You destroyed lives to satisfy your ambition.”

The hall was alive with murmurs now, guards and nobles exchanging glances, the tension palpable.
I could feel the pulse of power shifting, the air heavy with both fear and awe.

My wolf’s low growl mirrored my own intensity, a shared energy that reinforced every syllable I spoke.

I let my gaze sweep across the assembled pack, letting the weight of my words settle, each person understanding the truth and the betrayal they had overlooked.

Thorn’s hands twitched at his sides, his composure cracking under the scrutiny.

“He caused my family’s death,” I said, taking a steady breath, letting the hall absorb it. “Yet I will not call for his execution.”

A silence followed, thick and almost tangible, every soul in the room processing both the horror of his deeds and the mercy I was showing.

“Bow, all of you. Let him stand with me, as your rightful leaders.”

I lifted my chin, letting the weight of my words settle over the hall.

The sound of shifting feet and rustling robes filled the space as eyes darted between Asher and me.
The tension hung for a heartbeat, fragile, before the first body bent in acknowledgment.

A low murmur ran through the crowd, growing louder as more followed.

Guards, nobles, even the former enemies lowered themselves, each bow a silent acceptance of our authority.

Asher’s presence beside me radiated calm confidence. I could feel his energy, steady and reassuring, amplifying the respect rippling through the hall.

The dust stirred by movement mixed with the faint scent of incense, the hall alive with the tangible sense of unity forming.

Some hesitated, glancing at each other, but the moral weight of our stand—and the mercy we showed—made the choice obvious.

Slowly, one by one, they bent, heads lowered, their murmurs fading into silence.

I let my gaze sweep across every face, letting the acknowledgment of our authority settle like a tangible pulse.

The faint echo of synchronized bows filled the hall, reverberating off the stone walls, each motion carrying respect, awe, and the finality of recognition.

Asher’s hand brushed briefly against mine, subtle but grounding.

Our eyes met, a silent understanding passing between us.

Every whisper, every glance, every movement affirmed our combined authority.

It finally dawned on me that it was indeed over…
