I walked into the office of Doctor Kira. The air was cool and freshly scented
She ushered me in with a big smile on her face
"You are welcome, Luna," she said. "Please have a seat."
She motioned with her hand and I sat in the chair directly opposite her desk.
"Thank you so much."
"You are really looking good my queen," she said. "It seems the Alpha is taking good care of you."
"Indeed, he is a kind man."
"He really is," she agreed. "I still don't understand why he'd marked a woman who's been a mate to another Alpha and even carrying his child then give her such a position in the pack. You're fortunate you know."
"Thank you, doctor." The smile on my face began to fade, as I did not appreciate her saying that.
"The Alpha must definitely have his reasons, I am sure. He wouldn't just do such a thing without a very good reason. If the pack should know that the Luna is pregnant and it's not the Alpha's, they would raise questions."
"Good thing they are not going to know," I said with a frown on my face. "Or do you plan to tell them?"
"Of course not," she chuckled nervously. "Why should I? The Alpha already made it clear that this is quite confidential."
"Good," I said unsmiling. "And you should beware. The day any scandal arises from this, I will be sure to let the Alpha know you're a suspect."
"Wh...what?" She stuttered, her lips dry. I reclined back on the chair and smiled at her
"Come on doctor. You know things wouldn't get to that. I'm just joking with you. Besides, I know you'd never tell anyone."
"You're right," her laugh was short and dry. "Why don't we get on with the check-up then?"
That will teach her not to talk too much instead of doing her job.
I turned to look at the door and back at her.
"Can you please wait a moment? I am here with my husband. He'll be here shortly."
She was about to stand up when I said that and she stopped midway.
"Your husband?" She asked. "The Alpha you mean?"
"Yes the alpha," I confirmed.
Her face wrinkled worriedly as she slumped back onto the chair
"Are you okay?" I asked but there was no time for an answer as Jason walked in just then
"Alpha," the doctor scrambled to her feet to greet him.
Jason only nodded and stood beside my chair
"Alpha what are you doing there? Do you need something?" She asked him
"I am here to accompany my wife," he told her, and she looked confused or surprised.
"You mean her?"
"Is there any other person?"
"I am so sorry, it's just I wasn't expecting you'd come here for that, I am sorry," she said and I squinted my eyes.
She was not expecting the Alpha to come with me for the check-up because nobody thinks I am that special. I smiled.
"She's the Luna, and my wife. Is that not a duty for a husband?" Jason asked her but she seemed too stunned to give a reply.
"Can we start please?" I urged.
"Right of course. Uhm," she moved her feet left and right as if uncertain of her direction before finally moving out of her desk.
"Come this way, Luna,"
I stood up from the chair with Jason supporting me even though he didn't have to
I don't know if he did that for the eyes of the doctor though
"Would you like to wait outside, Alpha?" The doctor asked him.
"Why should I?" He said. "I'm here already so just go ahead."
I can't tell why the doctor is acting strangely today. Maybe she was not expecting the doctor will come here with me.
I did not bother about her as I lay on the bed to be examined.

My hands trembled and I had to struggle to keep them in place so I would not give myself away
Does Alpha Jason really care about Aria that much to have come to her antenatal care?
There's no way I can carry out this plan with him here
He'd immediately sense I did something
So I aborted the mission
Immediately they left, Natasha's call came through
The loud ringing made me jump lightly in fright
"Is it done?" She asked immediately I picked up.
"You did not tell me the Alpha was going to come with her," I rasped. "Do you plan to get me killed?"
There was no answer for some seconds I had to bring my phone to my face to be sure the call was still on
"Hello?"
"The Alpha came?" She sounded surprised
"You don't think I will lie about that do you? He accompanied her for the check-up. He was in the room with her. I would have gotten into so much trouble."
"It's okay," she finally said. "We will have to look for another way."
"What do you have in mind?" I asked with a sigh. I was already feeling cold about the whole plan.
Jason was not a man to mess with and I wouldn't want to touch something he cares about.
"Just hang in there. I will let you know as soon as I come up with something."
The call went dead and I took in a deep breath. Dropping the phone with shaky hands.
I still couldn't understand why the Alpha had chosen Aria to be his mate
I was there when he brought her to the hospital, half dead and bleeding profusely
I could tell immediately she was not one of us
But he asked me to save her and I did without any questions
Next, he marked her and she became the Luna
Everybody thought the Alpha would not get a mate anytime because he didn't show any interest in women after his wife died
Could it be that he is secretly having an affair with Aria and only got to bring her into the pack now?
I had so many questions, but very few or no answers.
I only did as I was told without asking questions.
