Chapter 92 - The Luna He Rejected

When I arrived at my coven, I saw that Oscar was waiting for me outside. He looked worried, and I immediately understood why. I had never taken this long to arrive at the coven. I wandered two or three hours at most, and now I was arriving in the morning.

“Where have you been, Alexandra?” For once his tone became annoying, it was a funny thing how the mate bond worked. A few hours ago, I thought of him as someone really handsome. Right now I felt like he was bothering me.

“I went to the bar to have a drink, but I need to tell you something.” It was best to tell him what had happened. If he had feelings for me, it was best that he knew what was going to happen. “I have a mate.”

He looked at me like I had grown a second head. I knew it was a hard news to digest, because it wasn’t very common, but I expected him to understand.

“Alex, are you crazy? How can you have a mate? It-“

“I know it doesn’t make sense, but it is true.” He still looked skeptical, he probably thought that they were playing with me.

At one point, I thought so too, but I couldn’t deny what I felt, and also they didn’t know who I was.

“Alex, you are making a mistake, you should-“

I hated where the conversation was going, he had no right to tell me if the decision that I was making was right for him or not. He should be happy for me. To find a mate meant that you found your other half. It was the greatest gift that you could find.

“Oscar, I don’t expect you to understand, but don’t try telling me what to do. This is something that hasn’t happened before, so it could only mean that it is a blessing.”

“But Alex-.” I had enough of this conversation. If he didn’t want to understand me, that was fine.

“No buts Oscar, you can be my friend and support me in my decision, or you can get out of my life.” We stared at each other, no one wanted to back down, until he turned around and said the last thing that I would ever hear from him.

“You are making a mistake, Alexandra, and I hope that you never regret it.” My pride was too big to try to ask him to be a part of my life, so I just let him go.

After that conversation, I spoke with the rest of the Elders to announce to them that I was renouncing my position. They didn’t agree, but I never told them what I told Oscar. They wouldn’t have believed me and things would have been more difficult. I also wiped Oscar’s memory. I didn’t want him to tell a soul what I had told him. They may come after me and I didn’t want that.

And so I left. I took all my things, leaving no trace behind. If someone tried to look for me, they would have had nothing to find me. I left my old life and went, and never looked behind.

Eight months later…

Alexandra’s POV

It was the fifth time that I had gone to the clinic to see the doctor. Max and I had tried to get pregnant, but for some reason I couldn’t. We thought that maybe it had to do with us being a different species, but it made no sense, we were mates. They wouldn't pair us up to have fertility issues.

We have also had some problems which have made me really stressed out. He has a friend, Diana, who is a pain in the ass. She tried to show she was a good person, that she couldn’t even hurt a fly. But I can see through her facade. If I could make Max see it as well, he would believe me. Unfortunately, he thinks that I’m just jealous and that I made things up. It is really annoying.

“Diana, you have to take care of yourself, you know that in your state you can’t pressure yourself.” I heard someone speaking from behind. What state? I haven’t seen her in a month, which has helped out with the problems with Max, but not entirely.

I felt curious, so I approached silently where I heard the voices, and could see Diana with a doctor. She was giving her some papers which I couldn’t see, but what I could see was her big ass belly. It was clear that she was pregnant, but who was the father?

I went back home, I didn’t even stay for the check-up, something wasn’t adding up, and Max had to answer some questions for me.

I haven’t used magic since I came to the pack, but today I was going to use all my power to figure out what the hell was going on with me. And so I returned to my home and prepared several spells. One was to locate any disease within me, the other one was to see if I had been given any poison or medicine that could affect my health indirectly. And last, but not least, one to see if any spell was cast onto me.

The results were as I expected. I didn’t have a disease, but someone had tried to play with my health, and also was using some kind of dark magic to prevent me having kids. Now I just had to track the person that cast the spell on me and ask them who tried to toy with me.

Just as I was about the next spell, Max entered our home. He wasn’t cheerful, he never was. He just went into the kitchen and started preparing himself something to eat. Now he has to answer some questions for me, and if he didn’t, I was going to literally burn his freaking ass.

“Max Summers.” I said while I entered the kitchen. He sighed when he saw me, like I was a nuisance for him.

“Alexandra, what is it?” I couldn’t understand why he had changed so much. He wasn’t the person that I met at that bar, he had become someone entirely different.

“Are you Diana’s baby father?” He was surprised at what I just told him, he tried to get to me and grab my hand, but that action made me realize it was true.

“I swear to you baby it was a mistake.” I had never felt that amount of fury inside me. I had to take deep breaths to calm myself down, or I was going to kill him.

“What? You accidentally tripped, and your penis entered her vagina? That is an accident Max, what you did wasn’t.”

I left him in the kitchen. I didn't want to hear more lies, or apologies. I was done with him, and I wanted to return to my coven. I wondered why I never felt any pain. It is supposed to hurt when your mate cheats on you, but I guess Diana has someone by her side that helps her out with that staff.

My bag was almost ready when Max entered the bedroom. I ignored him completely, and continued getting my clothes from the closet. He tried to grab my hand once again, but I smacked him, so he couldn't get to me. He sighed, and looked defeated. Even if my heart ached, I was not going to let him humiliate me.

"Alex, please hear me out." He pledged.

"What are you going to tell me, that you didn't want to do it? That it was a mistake? That you are sorry? Well, you can take your apology up your ass. I'm leaving." He instantly panicked, and tried to beg, so I would stay, but there was no way I was going to forgive him.

I reached the door to leave my house, but when I opened the door I saw Diana standing there. Fucking great.

"Alexandra, please hear me out before you leave." I didn't want to, but something inside of me told me to listen to her. I let her enter my house, and she sat on my sofa.

"You know." She simply stated, and I nodded. At that moment, Max came to the room, and even though Diana was there, he took my side and sat next to me. I wanted to move, but I was not going to let her see how much it had affected us the fact that she was pregnant.

"Continue, or else I have to leave. If you need to talk to Max, you two can stay here." She gulped, I was probably looking very scary, but I was mad as hell.

She then proceeded to tell me that she didn't want to be a mother, and that if I didn't stay she would basically abandon her daughter. I couldn't let an innocent child suffer, and so I made a decision that I shouldn't have. I stayed behind, and that was the beginning of my torment. Diana didn't leave our lives. I got pregnant and had to fight her schemes to make me lose my baby, and last but not least, I was killed when my baby was born.

Max didn't change, he became worse with time. Diana had a part in that change, but I couldn't give her full responsibility for that. He was consumed by the idea of having a powerful daughter, and he thought that she was going to be a half witch, half werewolf. Which is why I hid my daughter's power, even if she suffered. I was not going to let her father exploit her, and after that I left this world, hoping that she found a good man, so she could be happy.
