Chapter 80 - The Luna He Rejected
After Sophia’s father told us that she had challenged me for my position, I knew I had to make the rumor spread. In fact, I wanted to give a notice that anyone that wanted to challenge me was more than welcome to do so, but Kaid didn’t like the idea very much.
“He doesn’t want us to get hurt.” Like we could get hurt, Athena. The only time that it happened was because that bitch Sophia used dirty tricks.
“But he saw you die.” Yes, he did. But we didn’t stay dead, did we?
“I don’t think he would like it if you die.” Probably not, but I’m curious if I lost the challenge, but later I came back to life. Did I lose the challenge?
“Ivy, I don’t want to find out.” Me neither, but it was just a question that I had. I don't like dying, Athena, it does hurt.
"Doesn't seem like it, since you are so eager to die once again." Hey! Don't misunderstand me, I want to kick the butt of everyone who thinks I'm not enough for Kaid. You told me once that we were powerful, and I didn't listen to you. Because of that, everyone thought that I was weak. Now I want to show them who the real Ivy really is.
Athena and everyone might not understand me. When I was in Blue Lake Pack I tried to be strong, but I wasn't, and it showed. Even if I tried to fight back, they won because I hadn't trained enough. I'm not going to deny that gaining the power that I gained boosted my confidence, but what really made me change my mind was the strength that I got through training.
I didn't want to rely on something that I didn't fully understand, like the extra power that I had, but my muscles were something that were always going to be there, and so I decided to make the most out of them. Also, training makes you become more disciplined and that was something that I desperately needed. I wasn't lazy or anything like that, but I lacked the ability to control my temper. I jumped into conclusion too quickly, and I still need to work on that.
So now, if I wanted to show everyone what I was really capable of, it wasn't just fighting skills, it was how much I had grown as a person. To prove to them that I was capable of being Luna Queen.
I wanted people to see that I was fair, that I wasn’t persecuting Sophia for no reason. That I was leader that only punished the people that deserved it. That is why I asked Kaid to provide her with the necessary commodities so she had proper rest for tomorrow. I didn’t want people saying that I won the challenge because I had an advantage over her. It was fair and square and if she lost it was because of her own abilities.
I asked Silvia to come to my room to help me out with my plan. I knew she might get angry at me. After all, I was going to fight someone, but I hoped that she understood me enough to help me out.
Kaid went to organize everything for the challenge. As per my request, everyone in the pack could attend it, and I wanted Sophia to have time to explain why she had challenged me.
“We should say a few words as well, people are going to realize that we lied to them.” I know, and yes, we have to tell them the truth, after all, Hunter is no longer alive, and he can’t come after me.
“Yes, but people shouldn’t know too much about you. Rumors spread Ivy, and someone else might try to kidnap you.” You are right Athena, we should explain partially what it going on, but I don’t want people in the pack freaking out because I can read their minds.
We continued talking and deciding what our next step should be when I heard a knock at my door. It was Silvia, but it surprised me that she knocked, and she didn’t enter like she owned the damn room.
“Come in, Silvia!” I screamed so she could hear me out.
“Everyone is decent inside, right?” She poked her head with her eyes closed.
“What the-“
“Hey don’t get me wrong, Kaid is hot, buuuut I don’t want to see his wewe.” The hell?
“I’m going to ignore the comment because you are my friend. Just get inside he is not even here.” It seemed that being alone here only made her crazier.
“Hey! When I first mated with Andrew, I fucked for days. It’s natural I just don’t want my corneas to burn.” OMG I want to puke right now.
“Silvia, too much information.” I said while I mimicked that I gagged. Silvia rolled her eyes like she didn’t just say something that should have stayed private. “Pussy. Anyway, what did you want to talk to me about?”
“So, you remember that Sophia’s father is here, right?”
“Yes, and when is he leaving? He is a pain in the ass.” I wanted to beat around the bush for a bit, but I knew that with Silvia it was better to just rip the bad aid off.
“He is not leaving soon, he came here to challenge me on behalf of his daughter for my Luna Queen position.” Silvia didn’t say a thing, she stood frozen on her spot with her mouth open.
Her eye started ticking in a very strange way. I even considered calling Andrew for help, as I didn’t know what was happening to her.
“Maybe she is having a stroke?” I don’t think so? I really don’t know.
“HE DID WHAT? I’M GOING TO KILL THAT BITCH!” She finally yelled while she stood up and ran to the door.
If I didn’t stop her she would kill Sophia with her bare hands. I should have known that the catatonic state she was in wasn’t good news.
“Ivy, who does that bitch think he is? You are Kaid’s mate! You shouldn’t be proving yourself with a freaking challenge. You declined it, right?” Oh my, she was going to kill me when I told her that I accepted and then, in fact, I was the one who almost asked for it.
I didn’t answer quickly as I was thinking of the best way to tell my friend what I had done, and that I also needed her help to make more people challenge me. She was definitely not going to agree with me, but I had to try.
“I accepted the challenge, in fact I was waiting for it. I knew Sophia was going to do it.” Again she entered a catatonic state where only her eye ticked strangely.
Like last time, I just waited until she reacted once again, as I knew that it could be hard news to process.
“YOU DID WHAT?” She screamed at the top of her lungs. Damn, it hurt like hell to hear something like that. I think the whole pack heard her scream.
“Calm down, it is just a fight.” I tried to make her listen to me, but boy was I wrong. It was as if I just poured gasoline on a fire.
“CALM DOWN? ARE YOU CRAZY? SHE IS GOING TO TRY TO KILL YOU!” She continued yelling while I waited for her to calm down, so I could explain to her my reasons and so on.
After she finished ranting about how she wanted to rip Sophia alive, and that I was going to get hurt like last time. She finally calmed down and I could speak.
"Look, last time I couldn't show much of my fighting skills, I just dodged her attacks to avoid harming her, now I'm going to fight with everything that I've got. We have decided if we could use our wolf or not, but if we can believe me, Athena is out for blood."
"Oh yeah! I'm going to pay her back for what she did to you." I know Athena, in fact I'm scared for her, she doesn't know what she is into.
"But wouldn't it be deceiving for her? She thinks you don't have a wolf, and that you are weak." I have thought the same thing that Silvia told me, which is why I wanted to give her some time before the fight where I was going to reveal my true strength. If she still wanted to challenge me, then there was nothing I could do.
"Yes, I'm going to reveal everything, just before the fight, and then she'll have the time to decide what she wants to do." Silvia nodded, understanding what I wanted to do.
"Okay, then what do you need me for?" This was it, the hard part of the conversation.
"I wanted to ask you to spread the rumor about the challenge. I want other wolves that think they may be stronger than me to challenge me as well." She moved her head in disapproval.
"Ivy, my dear friend. You don't have to show anyone what you are capable of. I can help you spread the rumor so that more wolves come to the arena, but as soon as they see how you are going to kill Sophia, they are going to back down. Don't look for more fights that you don't need." I thought of what Silvia had just told me. Was it an unnecessary fight? Probably.
I didn't answer her straight away. I needed some time to think about what my next move should be. Silvia sighed, she probably wanted an answer from me right now, but I didn't know what to do.
"I'll start spreading the rumor. You should think about what I told you, Ivy. We only want you to be safe." She smiled at me, and I correspond her, then she left my room, leaving me alone with my thoughts and fears.
What should I do?
