Chapter 48
Asha could already tell whose body figure she was staring at from behind before the lady in a gown turned around.
"Myan!" Asha cried, spreading her arms as she ran forward wailing.
Poor Myan got the fright of her life because she had not been expecting to see the woman, but her muscles soon relaxed, and she returned the hug gesture.
"Asha? What happened?" Even though Myan was mad at Minrad, she certainly was not taking her anger out on his innocent wife.
"Frost! He is back, he wants to destroy Ash so bad, but he has vented his anger out on the poor people, my foolish husband will not listen to me and has gone out to talk to him." She pulled free from the hug and held Myan's arms. "Please you have to talk to Ash to get involved and do something."
Myan furrowed her eyebrows and gently shook free from Asha's grip. "What are you talking about? How can Ash go back there? He isn't lord, he has lost his powers…I’m sorry but your husband brought this on himself and has to fix it." Myan turned around and folded her arms across her chest.
"Myan please!" Asha instantly went on her kneels. "Ignore Minrad’s foolishness, you might be hurt but I'm his wife and I will go lengths just to protect his image, please help me out here. This involves the people as well,” she cried.
Just then, Ash walked into view, surprised by the position both women were in. "What is happening here?" He raised an eyebrow at them as he hastened his steps, ready to pull Myan away.
Asha wasted no time in delivering the story to him, making sure to leave out no details.
Myan stared in disapproval, knowing for sure there was no way he wouldn't listen. Ash might have been cold to the rest of the world, but he would always have the interest of his world and his people at heart. Without delay, he made his way, not stopping to look at her for a second.
Myan frowned on this behavior, took a deep sigh and exhaled in defeat, coming to the conclusion that she could not get him to change his mind. "I will come with you," she began and added immediately, "don't argue. I have my waterpowers still, and there is nothing Frost can do, that I can't control,” she reminded him. This was going to be her, saving their world again.
To her surprise, there was no argument from Ash, and together, they went with Asha to the mountain where they hoped Frost would be.

"My powers…I think something is wrong." Asha frowned when they were a few minutes away from the mountains.
"What do you mean?" Myan asked her, standing warily beside Ash as if letting him go would cause him harm.
"I can't feel it." She widened her eyes, feeling afraid and looking around for fire. "There's no fire here. How do I know if I can control it? This is getting bad, who knows what else Frost has done?"
"I promise that you will be fine." Ash spoke for the first time since they hit the road.
"What if I'm not?" Asha gulped.
More than ever, Ash missed his speed and wanted so bad to use it but there was nothing he could do.
The floor was dry by now but had left bodies of the victims of Frost's actions.
Myan reflexively gasped at the sight of the dead bodies and held on tighter to Ash. "What happened here? Why would he do this to these innocent people?"
Asha charged for the top of the mountain, hoping they came after her. All she wanted to do was see her husband.
Myan and Ash kept up with her, making their way.
A deafening shriek from Asha birthed a halt in their steps as both of them stopped walking after flinching.
Catching up, they found the cause of her dismay. She knelt beside her husband's headless body and gripped his shirt with all her might, caring less about the blood raking her finger.
Myan put her hands to her mouth in that instant, this was a whole lot worse than she expected.
Asha has lost her sense of speech and remained in that position, mystified and unable to process, not blinking once.
"Asha?" Myan called, taking slow steps towards her. By the time she was only inches away, Asha took her aback by standing to her feet sharply and running in the direction of the top of the mountain. Without thinking twice, she jumped off leaving Myan to scream on the top of her lungs.
Myan was yet to regain herself when she saw Ash jump off after Asha.
She knew there was no saving either of them from a mountain so tall and neither of them owning their powers. It was the last time she would see Ash alive…
"Ash!" She screamed his name, falling to her knees.
