Chapter Forty: The late night visitor
"Are you going to see her?" Rosa inquired me.
I stared at her, not giving an answer; As Paisely waited for me downstairs.
I couldn't stop thinking of seeing her within the crowd, crying. I was now afraid to face her.
"Just see what she wants," said Rosa.
I held the side of my light blue dress, contemplating if I should go or not.
Deep down I somehow knows what she wanted and it was me leaving Liam and Wereville. I would never do so. I love Liam and he loves me.
Why would I just leave him like she did once, without any good reason?
I stood still not wanting to move at all.
Suddenly I felt Rosa held my right hand and started to pull me.
I stiffen my body; preventing her from pulling me downstairs.
"Why are you doing this?" I inquired Rosa.
"If you don't confront her today; she won't stop, coming between you and Liam, Rosa said. Now is a great time to go downstairs and tell her to leave your mate alone; for she will never have him no matter what."
Hearing what Rosa said, had made me changed my mind of seeing Paisley.
I now wanted to confront her so badly and informed her to leave me and Liam the hell alone.
I exit the room, following behind Rosa. As she accompanied me to her store and there I saw Paisley waiting on me with her back turned. Not realizing we were within the store.
I stood quietly, waiting for her to turned around. Noticing she was still wearing the same clothes, I saw her in earlier today. Her red hair was no longer beautifully curled. It was messy. She looked as if she was having a bad day.
"Paisley," Rosa called her.
My body started to shake, nervously. As she turned towards us, looking at me first.
I removed my eyes off her, not wanting to look at the woman. My mate once shared his life with.
"I'll be in the kitchen if you need me," said Rosa as she went off. Leaving me with her.
Soon there was silence within the store. I continued, not to look at her; while we stood, quietly.
I could feel her staring at me.
Not being able to bare, staying in the same room as her. I moved my eyes to her; looking at her sad eyes. As she too looked at me.
"You wanted to see me," I said to her, softly.
"Yes," she answered me, softly; turning her back towards me. While her red hair laid behind her back.
"You don't know how hard it is to see you with him; the man who is my everything and who have once created a life within me," she said to me.
I continued to stood still, listening to her. Having nothing to say to her.
"Avery," she called me. While she turned around.
I said nothing; staring at her. As she came closer towards me.
"Please I beg you, she said, as she held my right hand. Staring within my face. While her eyes flooded with tears. Please reject Liam and leave Wereville tonight," she begged me.
"I can't live without him!" she shouted.
I pushed myself away from her, hearing her said that. Running to leave the store.
"I was pregnant for him," I heard her said; as I was about to went through the store backdoor.
I stood still, next to the backdoor; shocked at what she had said. With my back turned towards her.
"He doesn't know about this, she said. He doesn't know, that was the reason I left him for nine years, she explained. I lied to him that, the reason was not being chosen as his mate, but it was not so. I was afraid to tell him. I lost his first child." I heard her said as she started to cry.
I turned around; staring at her as she wept. Wondering why she was telling me this?
Was she telling me all of this, so I could feel sorry for her and reject Liam?, I thought.
"Why are you telling me this?" I inquired her.
She again turned her back towards me, not wanting to look at me.
"When I found out that I was pregnant for him. I was so happy and wanted to surprise him on his birthday and so I waited for 3 days until his birthday. Suddenly Paisely stopped talking and break down into tears, even more. I don't know what happen, she continued. I only remember leaving his room happily and heading to the bathroom. Next thing I notice I started to bleed heavily. I then found out that I was having a miscarriage. I wanted to tell him. But I was afraid to. I didn't want to let him down and so I leaved him. Without him knowing."
"You and my mom are the only person who knows about this," she informed me.
Hearing what she had said. I felt it badly. I knew how it felt in losing someone, even though she wasn't given the chance in meeting her first child.
"I'm sorry, I apologized to her. I'm sorry that you lost your baby, I again apologized to her. If I chose to reject Liam he will never leave me, I informed her. Nor will I ever do so. Because, I love him." I said to her.
She hid her face within the palms of her hand and crying.
I just continued to stood there. There was nothing. I could do.
Suddenly I started to worry.
What if Liam finds out about her miscarriage; will he runs back to her. I started to fret.
"Is that's why you returned to Wereville?" I questioned her.
"Yes she answered me and to fight for him, when I heard the news he had found his mate, she said. Leaving Wereville was the biggest mistake of my life. Sometimes I wonder if I didn't leave him for all those years. If he would have chosen you over me still?
Hearing her said that frightened me. I started to wonder if he would have still chosen me.
"For nine years, she said, I been grieving over my dead unborn baby and for leaving Liam; afraid to tell him the truth and I don't want to hide it from from him anymore, she informed me. Tonight I came here to beg you to leave him. But it seems you will never leave him and I can't stand being here seeing you with my first love. The only man I had ever been with."
"Avery, she called me again.
Tonight I will be leaving at 12. I will be leaving Wereville for good."
As I listen to what she had to say I just continued understand why she was telling me all of this.
"Please Avery, Please tell him about our child we could have had," she begged me.
"No," I shook my head.
I then realized why she was here.
"Why can't you asked someone else other than me?" I inquired her, angrily.
"Please Avery, she again begged me. Liam don't want to see me anymore nor does he wants to listen to my mother. You're the only one who can give me peace in moving on."
I lower my head, afraid to tell Liam of her miscarriage. I didn't want to lose him.
"Please Avery, she kept on begging me. I'll be out of Wereville for good by the time you tell him. I just want him to stop hating me and know the truth of me, leaving Wereville. If only you'd understand Avery of how it feels to walk around with such heavy burden."
Of course I understand. And her burden didn't compare to mine.
I wanted to help her. But the thought of Liam running back to her hurts very badly.
"Good bye Avery," she said as she turned her back leaving the store.
I watched her as she exited the store; closing the door behind her. I continued to stood there staring at the door worriedly.
"Avery, I heard Rosa called me. Is everything alright?" she asked me.
"Yes," I answered her. Not wanting to tell her of what had happened.
"I feel sleepy," I lied to her.
"Okay," good night she said to me. While I went off back into my room.
As I reached upstairs I stood at my bedroom door. Kept on worrying about Liam finding out about there baby.
I then pushed my bedroom door open and there I saw Liam. Waiting for me on my bed side.
I smiled at him; not wanting him to see that I was sad. I saw him removed himself from the bed as he saw me and came over towards me at once.
I pushed the door closing it, trying very hard not to cry as he came over to me, pulling me into his arms. While my head rest on his dark grey shirt.
Soon I started to cry within his arms. He remove by body from his; holding face.
"Tell me what is wrong, my love?" he inquired me.
I kept on crying not wanting to tell him.
"Please don't leave me, I have no one." I cried to him.
"I'll never leave you, Avery, I love you. He said as he kissed me. Please don't cry, he said. Why do you think I'll leave you. Suddenly he stood silently for a while as he hold me.
Did Paisley say something to you? He asked me."
I lowered my head and nodded.
"What did she say?" he asked me.
"About her miscarriage," I answered him; while I cried out.
Suddenly I felt him removed his body from mine and went towards the window.
"Liam, I called him. But he kept on walking until his body was through the window. Liam, Liam, I continued to call him." But he didn’t answer me.
I cried out as I saw him run away.
I ran downstairs and bumped within Rosa.
"What is wrong?" she inquired me.
"I need to find Liam," I answered her.
"Why?" she again inquired me.
I moved myself away from her swiftly and started to ran in chasing him.
"Avery, Avery" Rosa called me; as I exited her house.
Soon I was outside barefooted in search for my mate. I continued to run along the road within the dark. Until I stopped. I didnt know where to start in finding him. Suddenly I realized where he could be.
As I ran. I heard the loud sound of the thunder and the lighten flashes. Soon the rain had started to fall heavily; soaking me. While I ran within the dark; crying insearch for him. Praying that he doesn't leave me for her.
