Chapter Thirty Eight: Force to reject the alpha

I continued to stand silently; staring at her, begging me below my feet.

Suddenly I felt my body, moved backwards, slowly, away from her.  Until the wall of the store prevented me from moving anymore further.

Eutis lifted up her head from the floor and saw I had moved away from her. Soon I saw her removed her body from the floor. Now, standing before me. With an angry expression on her face. I stare at her, as I saw her came, close towards me.

"I chose to help you when no one wanted to," she said angrily. I could see within her face, how infuriated she was.

"You remember this, she again said to me. Your mate was willing to give you up to the evil alpha, Alexander. But, because of me he didn’t," she said; as she came even more closer towards me.

Hearing her said that; I turned my head aside. I wanted her to shut up.

Yes, Liam was going to do so. But, he took my punishment and saved me. I thought angrily.

As I turned by head aside. Refusing to listen to her. I felt her touch my hand.

I quickly turned towards her.

"Liam never wanted you until the day he saw you shifted," she informed me.

I felt a strong pain within my heart; hearing her said it.

"No," I said, shaking my head. Not wanting to hear her.

Suddenly she started to look at my necklace with his name, touching it.

My eyes started to become filled with tears. As I stood still; staring at her. Of what she had said. I wanted not to believe. But it felt so true. But, was it?, I thought. As tears escape my eyes.

"Liam doesn't love you Avery, she again informed me. He only loves the image of you, that's all, she said. If you didn't shifted that day. You'd probably die, being punished by him. The same man who slash you across your back," she laughed. Playing with my necklace around my neck.

Not being able to bear, what she was saying.

I shouted at her.

"Shut up, shut up!" I kept on saying; as if I was going insane; while I cried out. I just couldn't take it no more.

I glance at Rosa, seeing her standing within the store, quietly. I went over to her, in tears. Not wanting to be near Eutis.

"A necklace with his name on it doesn't mean he loves you, she said; as I went over to Eutis.

He doesn't want you! she shouted. He's only using you. The person he truly loves, his my daughter. And right now he's over there taking care of her within his bedroom. Now that is love," she informed me.

Hearing what she had said, I ran from the store; running back to my room, crying; slamming the door behind me.

I held the necklace, angrily around my neck; wanting to rip it off. But I couldn't.

I threw myself on the side of the bed; pressing my face against the soft pillow in tears. While my feet hang from the bed. I felt the cold pendant against my breast. I held it; while my eyes filled with tears.

Suddenly I got up. I couldnt stop  thinking about Liam being with her, now. She was now lying on his bed within his room. Who knows what she will try to do.

I then heard my door push open and there I saw it was Rosa.

She walked over to the bed. While I lay in tears.

"Avery," she called me.

I looked at her.

"What ever decision you make; I'm  here to support you, she said. Even though my heart pains me. Hearing that she tried to kill herself tonight, because she wants back your mate."

Rosa brush her hands against my hair as I sobbed. Soon she exit the room. Closing the door behind her.

Hearing what Eutis had said. I somehow started to believe her.

What if Liam had never saw me shifted, would he still treat me the same? I thought.

Would he? I again thought.

Deep down I love him. But how do I know if he truly loves me.

Suddenly I remembered the cuts he took for me on his back.

But would he had taken my punishment. If he didn't see my human form?; I kept on thinking.

I held my head, tightly. I hated what I was thinking.

I removed myself from the bed, angrily. Staring through the window.

My mind again went on Liam. If Paisley had tried to kill herself tonight. Who knows what she was doing to him tonight.

I started to think if Liam was allowing her to.

I got even more angry and pulled the necklace from my neck and threw it to the window. Going back to the bed.

"They deserve each other," I cursed angrily.

I started to cry, resting my head on the bed.

I would never reject him. But still, I didnt want Eutis to lose her only child. Nor did I want Paisley to take him from me with her dirty plans.

What I should do?; I thought. But I couldn't find any good solution.

Soon I found myself; starting to stare at the walls. Until I found myself drifting off to sleep.

"Bang, Bang" I heard a knock at the door. I looked at the window and saw it was already morning. The sunlight hurt my eyes. Especially, now that they were swollen. From all the crying last night.

Suddenly I jumped off the bed, hurriedly to see it was Liam. I open the door and saw it was Rosa.

"Good morning," she said.

"Morning," I answered her.

"It's almost afternoon, and I was worried if you had done anything stupid. So I came to check on you," she said.

I was surprised of what she had said. I had overslept. But still I couldn't believe that Liam, didn't even came to check on me.

He must be by her side, still; I thought angrily.

"I prepare you a cheese and chicken sandwich for breakfast, Rosa said. Get dress and come down stairs" she informed me.

I nodded and head to the bathroom; washing my face. I looked within the mirror and saw that my eyes, we're swollen, badly.

I wasn't hungry at all. But I didn't wanted to turn down the breakfast she had made for me. After she had been so kind to me.

I hurriedly put on a blue jeans and a white top and went downstairs, into the kitchen.

As I went inside of the kitchen. I sat at the kitchen table and started to take small bite of my sandwich. She had already place at the table for me.

"Shit," I heard Rosa, cursed.

I looked at her to see what had happened.

"Is everything fine," I asked her softly.

"I ran out of Juice, milk and sugar for the kitchen. I can't believe I had forgotten to purchase these. Now I have to get back to the supermarket," she complained.

"I'll go," I said to her.

"Are you sure?" she inquired me.

"Yes," I answered her. I wanted to anyways. I wanted to see Liam so badly. I wanted to know why he didn’t came to see me after what we were doing last night.

Tears started to fill my eyes. I rubbed my eyes, not wanting to cry. Nor letting Rosa see me cry.

She hand me a small, brown bag and some cash to purchase the goods and instructed me that the supermarket was a small red building at the left of her store. I knew where it was. It was just beside her store.

I then exit the kitchen and started off to the supermarket.

As I walked to the supermarket. I saw people on the street staring at me. I look back at them and there I was suprise. They smiled at me. It felt weird. That very minute, I wanted to return to Rosa, right away.

As I enter the supermarket. I took a small basket and started to look for the items Rosa wanted. As soon I was finish. I got to the cashier and gave her the goods.

"Good morning Mrs. Payne," She greeted me.

I again was surprised hearing her greeting me as Mrs. Payne.

I smiled at her, giving her the cash for the items. As she gave me the change while I packed the shopping bag.

She again said, " I love your necklace."

As I went away from her. I touch my neck and felt the necklace, I threw through the window last night. Again, around my neck.

I widen my eyes in shock. Soon I started to smile; knowing he had visited me within my sleep, last night.  He does care about me; I thought.

I was so foolish to think those stupid thoughts last night and for throwing away this beautiful necklace he had given me.

I felt happy; walking back to Rosa. Knowing Liam had left her to visit me last night and that the people was starting to show me respect. Which I again knew he was the cause of there actions.

As I hurriedly went home. I felt someone touched me. I turned around and there I saw it was. My man. My one true love; smiling at me.

Attired in a white shirt and a black pants.

As we both stood within the middle of the road;;while everyone stared at us.

Liam pulled me up to him; taking the bag from my hand.

"Lets show the whole community that you are mine," he said.

Suddenly I felt him pulled me closer to him; moving his mouth to mine. And kissed me; lifting me off the ground.

I smiled.

"That's how I want to see my queen from now on," he said.

I rested my head on his shoulder hearing him said that. I didn’t wanted to stay with Rosa, anymore. I wanted to go home. Where I was save with him.

As he carried me off; I saw everyone smiling happily. I smiled happily too; until I saw Paisley among the crowd.
