It's been over 2 years of a wonderful and blissful marriage. Life has been peaceful and full of happiness. The dawn of darkness had fully blown over, and the realms were at peace and prospering. All the time, no one ever mentioned Drakoen's name. He was wiped out of existence completely and everything was fine.

Mercedes had been feeling unwell for a while, and she had a suspicion of what could be wrong. So she bought a home test to verify her suspicion. Felix had been talking about making a little sister or brother for Horace. Speaking of him, he was a handful. Mercedes was having a hard time keeping up with him. Allison and Horace were attached to the hip and up to some mischief. So, Mercedes wanted Horace to grow up a little before she could have another baby. Even if she wanted that, if things didn't turn out the way she wanted and if now was the time she would have another baby, she wasn't complaining .

She went into the bathroom to get the test done. Felix had noticed her strange behavior for the past few days, but she made up an excuse to get him to stop asking. It was hard to keep it from him, but she didn't want to tell and get his hopes up for nothing, in case she was wrong. Mercedes looked at the stick in her hand with mixed emotions. Whatever the result, she would be fine with it, she told herself. She took a deep breath before peeing on the stick. It was not the only pregnancy test she bought. Just to be sure, she bought 3 different kinds. She used them all. She placed the tests on the counter and started pacing around anxiously in the bathroom. Once the waiting time was over, she took a breath and went to have a look at them. Her eyes widened when each of them had two pink lines.

There was no doubt about it. She truly was pregnant. Mercedes's heart skipped a beat as she took those tests in her hands. She had a mix of emotions, excitement, joy and anxiousness. Felix's wish would be granted and Horace was going to become a little brother after all. She had to tell Felix. She could already see the look on his face when she told him the good news. Mercedes managed to calm her beating heart and smiled at herself, and she put her hands on her stomach.

Even though she didn't know yet how far along she was, she still talked to the baby in her belly.

“ You don't know how much everyone is going to love you. Come to us soon, okay?” Mercedes laughed to herself and rubbed her belly affectionately. After a while, she decided to put the tests away and wash her hands. She had to figure out a way to tell Felix about the news. She was thinking of a special way to do it or maybe just tell him without all that. She couldn't make up her mind about it.

Crystal could see how absent-minded she looked throughout the day and she couldn't resist asking her.

“ Oh my. Your body is present, but your mind seems to be lost somewhere,” Crystal said, breaking her out of her thoughts. Mercedes could only smile, making Crystal even more curious.

“ Okay. You seem very happy. Tell me. What is going on? Out with it.”

Mercedes thought about it for a second, and she thought it wouldn't hurt to tell her. She was dying to tell someone of not Felix about it.

She pulled Crystal aside after checking if there was anyone else besides them.

“ Alright. I'll tell you what is going on with me, but you can't tell anyone else before Felix finds out about it,” she whispered to Crystal. She nodded her head and promised not to tell a soul.

“ Okay. Here goes,” she said, and took out one test she was carrying with her from the back pocket of her jeans.

Crystal's eyes widened looking at the positive pregnancy test in her hand. It took a second for her mind to register what Mercedes was telling her. When she finally processed it, she broke out in a squeal, jumping up and down. Mercedes laughed and tried to cover her mouth.

“ Shh! Don't be too loud.”

“ I can't believe this Mercedes. You are pregnant!”

“ Yes, I am. I can't believe it either. I am so happy. I can't wait to tell Felix about it. So don't let him find out before then, okay?”

“ Alright. My lips are sealed. I won't breathe a word to anyone before then.”

Mercedes and Crystal started talking about everything concerning the new addition to their family. Crystal even offered for her to get tested in her clinic to confirm her pregnancy. She agreed and she even did an ultrasound.

“ You have successfully passed your trimester. You have been pregnant for 3 months.”

Mercedes was shocked. It was just like her pregnancy with Horace. She never knew until the last moment. Mercedes laid back on the bed and allowed Crystal to apply the cold substance on her belly.

“ Okay. Let's take a look at this little one,” Crystal said as she started moving the ultrasound probe. Mercedes held her breath and stared at the screen beside her. Crystal professionally performed the ultrasound with concentration.

When the image appeared on the screen, Crystal smiled.

“ Here we go,” she said with a hint of excitement in her voice.

“ Take a look at this,” Crystal pointed at the screen.

“ This is your baby, so you are definitely pregnant. Can you hear the sound of its heart beat? Listen to it. Isn't it amazing?

Mercedes nodded her head, tears brimming in her eyes.

“ My baby,” she whispered.

“ Do you want me to check for its gender? I can if you want.”

She shook her head.

“ No. I don't want to know the baby's gender. I want it to be a surprise.”

“ Okay. I like the sound of that. The baby is healthy, and the heart is beating strongly. Everything is perfect with it.”

After checking everything, Crystal printed out a few pictures to give to Mercedes.

“ Congratulations mama. Everything looks great. You just have to take care of yourself and the little one. You don't have to worry about it, I will be here.”

Mercedes took the pictures looking at them with tears of joy in her eyes. She smiled. She had to tell Felix as soon as possible. She couldn't keep it to herself for long. That night, she waited for Felix to come to their bedroom. She tried to find a way to tell him in a special way, but she threw all the crazy ideas out of the window.

She was going to tell him about it head on, so she waited. Felix walked inside the room and saw Mercedes standing by the widow, looking outside. He walked behind her and wrapped her around her.

“ How are you, my love? I have been missing you for the whole day. I came here quickly just see you.”

Mercedes remained quiet for a little while. She thought she had it under control, but she didn't know what to say now that Felix was there.

Felix was concerned by her silence. He let go of her waist and turned her around to face him. Mercedes couldn't face him.

“ What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell? Tell me, love.”

He was so worried about her, but she still couldn't speak. It was as if a lump got caught in her throat.

“ Come on, Mercedes. If you don't tell me what is wrong with you, I will start assuming the worst. Just tell me already. I can't take your silence anymore.”

This couldn't go on any longer. If she couldn't say it, she would just have to shoe him. She took out the same test she showed Crystal and handed it over to him. Felix took it and saw the two pink lines on it. For a second he was confused. Mercedes handed him the ultrasound picture as well.

It finally clicked in his mind. He was looking at a positive pregnancy test. A smile spread in his face and he chuckled in disbelief.

“ Is this true? A-Are you really pregnant?”

Tears slipped out of Mercedes's eyes as she nodded her head.

“ Oh my god!” he laughed.

“ What is this? I am going to be a father, again.”

Felix picked Mercedes and spun her around as their laughter mixed, filling the room with joy. He put her down and embraced her tightly in his arms. Tears slipped out of his eyes.

“ You made me happy today, Mercedes. We are going to be parents again. I can't believe this. Our lives are going to be filled with more happiness.”

It was done. Felix's reaction was what she had hoped for. Felix pulled back and got on his knees in front of her.

“ Our baby, Mercedes. We are having another baby,” he said, wiping his tears, looking at her stomach.

He pulled up her shirt and placed a gentle kiss on her stomach.

“ Hello there, my baby. Daddy can't wait to meet you. Everyone is waiting for you. Come soon, okay?”

Mercedes smiled and ran her fingers through Felix's hair as he laid his head on Mercedes's belly. It was perfect. There was no need for any grand revelation. Everything worked out perfectly in the end.
