Staring in the mirror, Mercedes was in awe of the reflection staring back at her. Her eyes sparkled with delight. She looked beautiful and unrecognizable. All that was thanks to Crystal, who offered to help her get ready. She did her hair and makeup. Mercedes couldn't stop staring at herself in the mirror. She was satisfied with how she looked. The make-up was not too heavy, but it was elegant and it accentuated her features. Her hair was put up in a messy bun and a few strands fell on her face. She looked and felt like a princess. Mercedes acknowledged that Crystal had skilled hands that managed to transform her into a beautiful and radiant woman.

For the first time in a long time, she was bubbling with excitement. Felix had been acting strange, and she was scared, thinking that something was wrong. But it turned out that he was planning a romantic night out. Mercedes couldn't believe that was all it was, but it made her happy that he was going up and down trying to get things ready and perfect for her. He even bought her the dress she had to wear and all the accessories. Everything was perfect, and she knew that only Crystal could help him pick everything out. She admitted it, when she asked her about it.

She was almost ready. Crystal was just doing the final touches to her look before she could head out. Felix must have been waiting for her already. She didn't want to keep her man waiting anymore.

“ There!” Crystal exclaimed, putting her tools away. She stood behind Mercedes and gazed at her work, feeling proud of the result.

“ Everything is done. You look perfect my dear. Someone is going to struggle to keep his eyes away from you,” she said, holding her shoulders as she smiled at her.

“ I can't thank you enough, Crystal. I love the way I look. You've done a wonderful job.”

“ There is no need to thank me for this. I'm just glad I could help.”

Mercedes turned her head slightly, side to side, just to make sure that nothing was out of place. She nodded her head in satisfaction and she was truly happy.

“ I am ready,” she whispered while smiling at herself. Crystal smiled back at her, tears of joy welling up in her eyes. She didn't know why, but for some reason, she was getting emotional. Each day, her bond with Mercedes grew, and they were practically sisters and Crystal loved that she could help her with the little things she needed, and she could finally give back to her for everything Mercedes had done for her.

“ You look beautiful, Mercedes,” she said to her.

“ Hey. Why do you look like you are about to cry? Didn't you dare cry right now? If you do, I'll end up crying as well and all your hard work will be ruined,” Mercedes warned as she felt her tears well up as well. She didn't know what the moment was about, but she couldn't cry now. Her make-up would get ruined, and they would have to redo it. How long would she keep Felix waiting for her?

She tilted her head up and pushed her tears back and took calming breaths.

“ I'm sorry. It's my fault. I don't know why I am getting emotional. It's not your wedding day yet,” she said jokingly.

They both laughed it off.

“ Come on. Let's go before anything happens.”

Crystal helped Mercedes stand and escorted her out of her room. When they were about to go down the stairs, they noticed that Felix was already waiting for Mercedes. As they expected, he was lost in staring at Mercedes with his mouth hanging open like a fish out of water. Crystal teased Mercedes, and they tried to stifle their giggles while making fun of Felix's reaction.

Felix's eyes were wide in shock of what he was seeing. To him, Mercedes looked like a Goddess descending from the stairs of heaven. He took in her stunning appearance with amazement in his eyes. Felix felt like the air had been knocked out of his lungs, his breath taken away by Mercedes's beauty and elegance. The dress he had bought for her fit to perfection, hugging her figure like a glove.

It looked better on her than he imagined.

“ Do you see how he looks? His face is so red, I'm sure the heat he is feeling is too much to bear.”

Mercedes blushed as well. She was amused to see Felix's reaction. He was speechless. She could see all the love and admiration Felix was feeling for her at the moment. His gaze was intense and locked on her, never turning for a moment. Mercedes started to burn under his gaze.

Felix couldn't believe that he was about to ask her to be his wife. He felt very fortunate to have Mercedes in his life. The last few months, life has had its ups and downs, but now, everything is stable. Moments of peace were abundant, and it was the right moment to think about settling down and enjoy their lives.

Felix stood frozen in place, watching Mercedes come down the stairs. His heart started racing as Mercedes reached the bottom of the stairs. He finally broke out of his trance and stepped forward. He reached out his hand to her, his eyes never leaving hers. His lips curled into a smile as Mercedes placed her soft small hand in his hand.

“ You look… mesmerizing,” he said, his voice filled with emotion. Mercedes blushed with a radiant smile on her face. The look on Felix's face told her everything she needed to know. He was mesmerized by her indeed.

“ Thank you. You look pretty handsome yourself,” she replied, her heart fluttering with how good he looked. She couldn't believe that Felix was her man. Every day, waking up next to him felt like a dream. The father of her child and the man she loved with her whole heart was him. She felt blessed to have a loving and kind man like him by her side. That is why, ever since she woke up, she has been making sure that she makes up for all the lost time between them. Loving and caring for him every day of their lives just to show him how much she cherished him. That was the least she could do after everything Felix had done for her.

Crystal's job was done. The couple was ready to go, so it was her cue to excuse herself and let them have a moment to themselves before they headed out.

“ Okay. You both look great. Have fun out there,” Crystal said, winking at Mercedes.

“ I'll leave you to it then.” Crystal walked away and left them. All arrangements have been made. Horace was going to be sleeping with Alison. They took turns sleeping in each other's room. Crystal went back to her own room. Jake was already there lying in bed, playing video games on his phone. When Crystal got inside, he put away his phone and Crystal got on the bed, snuggled into Jake's inviting arms.

She laid her head on his chest, and they enjoyed the peaceful silence of their room.

“ I know the truth, you know,” Crystal suddenly said, making Jake tense up.

“ Truth? What truth?” he asked, cautiously.

“ It all adds up. This isn't just a normal date. I know what's going on. He is going to propose, isn't he?”

Jake's grip slightly tightened on Crystal. That just confirmed Crystal's suspicion.

“ What are you talking about babe?” Jake said, trying to play dumb, but Crystal was not having it.

“ Don't try and play dumb with me, Jake. No one would freak out the way Felix was over a date night. I have seen how he has been acting, all jumpy and nervous. Our Alpha is usually a composed man, but he was all over the place and you two would disappear, whispering something to each other in his office. Mercedes might not have noticed but I did. It has to be more than that and the only thing that makes sense about it all is that he is planning to propose. There is no point in trying to hide it now.”

Jake was astonished that she managed to reach that conclusion by herself. He had underestimated her. He forgot that she was smart, and he could hardly ever keep anything from her. There was no point in denying it anymore. Jake chuckled, thinking about how he was itching to tell Crystal the truth, but he kept it to himself. He could have just told her, seeing how she managed to keep her suspicions to herself and tell Mercedes.

“ Yes, you are right,” Jake admitted.

“ Tonight, our Alpha is going to propose to our Luna. Let's hope that everything goes well for them.”

Crystal looked up at Felix with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

“ I can't believe you kept the truth from me. Did you really think that I am a blabbermouth, huh?”

With the look in her eyes, Jake knew he was done for. He chuckled nervously, trying to think of a way to get himself out of the trouble he got himself in.

" Baby, please calm down, okay? I can explain."

A mischievous smile spread on Crystal's face. She was thinking of all the ways to torture Jake as his punishment, and it was making her bubble with excitement. Now they had the house to themselves and the kids were asleep.

" Oh yes, you will."
