Chapter 92 Not shaken or not.

Chapter 92 Not shaken or not.
Sasha.

My breathing got ragged; I struggled to inhale and exhale.

Who?

Without loitering around asking questions, I bolted out of the door, shoving the guards on duty while at it.

The glances from the maidens and guards spoke what their lips couldn't.

The new Luna may be running wild.

Are you sure Luna isn't mentally unstable?

Zyle must be so unlucky.

The thoughts were all in my head, but I wanted to snatch their eyes from their sockets since they had no better use for them.

No time for that, though.

I ignored them and breezed through the estate, looking around all the nooks and crannies I could find.

“Luna, what may you be looking for? I can help you.”

I expected it to be the annoying guard from before, but no, it was another one.

Yes. They were all getting on my last nerve.

“I would like you to scram,” I said with the softest voice I could muster in a situation like that.

Maybe he had been deaf since he was a child, but the jobless man followed me three paces behind.

I paid him no mind, walking out of the estate reserved for the Alpha and his Luna and into the open fields covered in tall buildings and bustling life.

I walked until I could finally feel the sting in my sole.

I stared at my legs, seeing the gash I had incurred from walking on gravel and asphalt.

Whatever.

I spun around, heading back to the penthouse.

We can make her disappear.

The words latched onto my mind stubbornly.

That was what I wanted. For her to disappear from his life for good, but she proved to be a stubborn little piece of shit.

I should have killed her instead.

I hadn't realized how far I had walked in search of the stranger.

The guard still followed dutifully behind me.

I stepped into the manor, pretending not to see the curious expressions on everyone's faces.

I ruffled my hair and punched in the code to the master's bedroom.

The guard stood outside the elevator as I watched it close slowly.

When the elevator opened again, I threw myself into the room, sitting on the bed and trying to come up with a plan easy enough to execute without getting my hands dirty.

Nothing came to mind.

Except for one.

We can make her disappear.

“Yes… I want that. I…” I said to the space.

A migraine had been pinching at me for the longest time; I hadn't even realized it earlier.

I hissed, massaging my forehead.

A knock made me jolt upright.

Fuck! I was getting too worked up over something that might not really be much of an issue.

Yes! It wasn't much of an issue.

“Who?” I yelled, louder than I intended.

“You have visitors.”

My brows furrowed.

“Visitors?” I repeated to myself, suddenly remembering that I had called Maya and Tracy out of panic.

“Let them in.”

“Yes, Luna.”

I stood up and walked to the mirror, fixing my face and hair.

A Luna should never be shaken. Never. And a measly beta would never make me panic.

“Sisturrr,” Tracy whined, sashaying into the room.

“Wow. Is this where the Luna sleeps?” She looked at the overly big bed and interior decor with mouth-watering lips and greedy eyes.

Maya shoved her aside and slumped into the soft cushion.

“I had a head on my clit when you called. This better be important.”

I scoffed.

But then I realized they wouldn't be of much help even if I told them what had happened; instead, they might be a problem later on.

“I needed your advice… you know… as a newlywed and all.”

They stared blankly at me. Their expressions were slightly bored.

“Advice?” Maya said, like she was trying to be sure I had said it right.

“Well… yeah.” I shrugged, looking away from them.

“The… tactics of bearing an heir. You know that is the only way to really seal my position.”

“Hmm.”

“Where's my brother?” Maya asked, her hands crossed.

“Out… he has business to attend to or something.”

Internally, I prayed they believed me. The last thing I wanted was for a search party to find him before I did and discover he was growing a curse inside him and I was the inflictor.

I flinched at the thought.

They didn't notice.

“That shouldn't be hard… if it was any other guy, but my brothers are a peculiar type of wolves. They cannot be turned on easily.”

“How do you know that?”

“I'd seen how several girls had tried. Only the Monroe brat could get Zyle's ears perked. Besides that, he is usually motionless.”

“If you can… I don't know… act like her… maybe.”

“I'm me, Maya. I can't act like a lowly wolf, let alone a beta.”

“Eish, sorry. Emotional much?”

“You were the one asking for advice,” Tracy said this time.

“Yeah… but I don't want to hear about that dirt.”

“Oh.” Tracy giggled.

“Someone's insecure,” she teased.

I ground my teeth together and offered a smile I hoped was genuine.

“Don't worry. So long as she has forgotten about Zyle, it's going to take at least a decade for her memories to return. By then, you should have dropped a few pups.”

My cheeks blazed red.

If only it was as easy as they made it seem.

“Hey… I know,” Maya said, sitting up.

“I'll get you a potion. It should make your pheromones spread across the house, and even if he couldn't perceive it, he will.”

Was there such a thing?

I couldn't perceive Zyle, and he couldn't perceive mine either.

“Why are you telling me about this now?”

“Just found out about it as well.”

This would have ended all this drama with Zyle from the beginning.

“I need it,” I said, adjusting in my seat.

Maya nodded with her eyes closed and lips pursed.

“Now scram. I need my beauty sleep.”

They snickered and got up to leave.

“Luna already throwing around orders,” Tracy said, stretching out.

“I'll bring the potion tomorrow.”

“Okay… thanks,” I replied, my voice soft.

“See you later,” Maya said, pecking me on the cheek and walking out the door.

“Call us if you need handcuffs for your Alpha.”

“Yeah, yeah.” They chuckled and left.

I closed the door shut and slid down until my butt touched the ground.

At this rate, I was not getting any pups.

I didn't know how much time had passed before another knock on the door made me raise my head from my knees.

“What is it this time?” I asked tiredly.

“The Alpha's brother wants an audience.”

I sighed and got to my feet.

I opened the door and walked out.
