Chapter 16 Our Reflection
ZARA'S POV
Mira, Kai and I had decided to be mute about the whole harvest command stuff till we figured out what it was. Kai had returned to his hall as well as gone to see Dr. Voss since she had tried reaching out to him earlier.
The night was peaceful and I had to let my body rest from everything that has happened earlier on. Mira gave me a cup of lemon tea to drink before sleeping.
"It would help with the uneasiness and headaches." She had said.
"Thank you." I responded smiling curtly.
I slept like a new born pub that night. It was quite beautiful just until the academy's alarm blared loudly by the side of my bed. I starched on my bed, coincidentally the same time with Mira.
"Good morning." She yawned out as she stretched her body.
"Good morning Mira." I responded as I did a few stretches on my own side.
We both got into the bathroom, brushed our teeth and cleaned our faces before Mira allowed me to have the first bath.
While I was brushing my hair to fit into the bun given to me by the academy, a new smell whiffed across the hall.
It smelt new yet so familiar.
"Did you perceive that strange smile just now?" Kai quickly asked through our mind link.
"It could be anyone." I said not wanting to read too much into anything at that point.
"But it smelt so familiar." He said.
I could imagine him scratching his small beards as he tried to place one and one together.
"Don't stress it young man." I said blushing slightly.
It felt like he could see from where he stood to communicate with me. But I wasn't mad to wish my daydreams became reality.
Mira came out of the bathroom just as I finished putting on my outfit for the day. A white shimmy, red blazer with black tight fit skirt, paired with white pantyhose and black short heels.
"Looking too good for a beautiful day." Mira commented.
"Thank you. It's just...." I paused not wanting to come out too strong.
She stared at me, giving me a smile that said "don't worry... I can wait...". I nodded before I continued my speech.
"I just never had the opportunity to play dress up before now."
"I was always dressed up in rags."
"My parents didn't come to see me...
"So I almost never wore another set of clothes aside the rags kept for Omegas."
I closed my eyes after speaking because I didn't need her pity or even want to encounter her judgemental face.
"Now... You're an elite. And that power you have right there.."
I was taken aback by what she said.
"That power.... My dear, do well to maximize it." She said as she came closer to me with a wide stretched hands.
"Come here and get a hug." She said still patiently waiting for me with her hands now spread open.
I gave a small smile as I ran into her hug. Aside from when Kai would hug me. Mira had slowly become one of my very good friends. And damn!!! She gave the best hugs. Not like I will spill that to Kai when next we meet.
Speaking of Kai, we should actually start heading to the cafeteria now. I detached myself from the hug.
"We should head to the cafeteria now." I insisted.
"Alright boss. Let me just knot my tie." She said.
She knotted her tie while putting a few books into her bag. The academy was that fun. We had different responsibilities hence the difference in the classes we attended. We both walked hand in hand to the cafeteria.
On reaching there, that scent hooked me in my guts. It was my scent but another person was bearing it.
"Why am I perceiving your scent on another person?" Mira asked me.
"I don't know." I responded truthfully.
All of a sudden Kai squeezed himself into our middle.
"I was already starting to miss you both."
He said in a low voice making me to chuckle slightly.
We entered the cafeteria, placed our orders and went to sit in our space, the one that faced the windows.
"Good morning Zara. I'm Luna Torres." My reflection introduced herself to me.
All blood left my face. This had to be a joke. Someone walked up to her and I had to quickly compose myself.
"Oh Mira. Who's this darling you've got here?" The person asked.
I was shocked because this is my reflection right here.
Shouldn't be have started with..m "Oh!!! Why do you look like Zara?" But nothing!
"I'm Luna Torres." She responded to the new guy.
Kai and Mira were mute watching the whole scene unfold before them. The new guy got her number and placed a peck on her cheek before waltzing away to probably meet his friends.
Soon enough, we turned to hear someone clearing their throat. Kai's reflection. He held a tray of mixed foods before dropping it on our table.
"Is anyone sitting here?" He asked pointing at the empty chair in our desk.
Mira nodded.
"Good! I would really love to sit now." He responded dragging out the chair slowly to have his seat.
He munched on an apple before he finally spoke.
"I'm Rex Torres and that's my sister Luna."
He gave a cheerful smile.
"And... No one knows we look like you asides the three of you."
With that I started laughing out loud. This has to be a sick joke.
"Bravo!!! Now can we stop all this shenanigans." I said not smiling again.
"I think they're telling the truth." Mira said.
"You're Mira right?" Luna said turning to Mira.
"Yes, how did you know my name?" She questioned.
"Oh!!! The gossip blogs around here are so good." She said chuckling slightly.
She turned over to where her brother sat down. Of all places, she decided to sit close to Kai. Was she baiting me? What the hell was going on here?
"Hey Kai." She purred as she smoothened his tie.
I was pissed with jealousy. Who did she think she was touching what was mine.
Mine? Where did that thought come from?
"It's nice to meet you Luna." He finally spoke, but did nothing to rip her hand off him.
He was enjoying this. Wow! She leaned closer to him and whispered in his ears.
He just huffed, no good response to tell me what she had said.
"Get out of our desk." I said in a low, menacing voice.
"Ouu!!! That temper would be the death of you Zara." She finally called out my name.
That voice.... I had heard it once.
"I wanted you to conceal your anger yesterday and just complete your training like you should have." Luna paused.
"But no... You just had to let jealousy over take your senses."
I was mute... That's where I had heard her speak. Yesterday's class. Just before I blacked out.
"See you in class ladies and gentlemen." Rex said before taking his leave together with his sister.
