Chapter 89 Lily.

Chapter 89 Lily.
Creed’s pov.
“No,” I whisper quietly, feeling my heart breaking, “I can’t lose you, I won’t lose you.”

I drop my hands away from her face and look at the ground.

I clench my hands tightly beside me as I continue to pace the room.

Where the hell is she…

What the hell is taking her so long…

‘Ryan, bring Raya to my room immediately,’ I say down the link between Ryan and I.

Without waiting for an answer I shut the link down and continue pacing the room.

“Creed…” Lily groans, making me pause in my steps.

“Yes?” I ask while walking towards her quickly.

“Can you- can you lay with me?” She mumbles while her body still shakes.

I quickly climb into the bed beside her, gently pulling her body closer to mine.

She winces as our body’s touch, “too… hot,” she stutters out.

I move my body away from hers, frowning as I realize I can’t help her.

‘King, Creed,’ a warrior says through our link.

‘Now is not a good time,’ I reply angrily, watching Lily's body shake.

“There’s Uhm, a dragon shifter here at the gates. He said his name is Eric? And that he knows Queen Lily,’ the warrior whispers nervously, probably feeling my anger through our link.

‘Eric?’ I ask while my eyebrows raise in surprise, ‘send him here immediately.’

I close down the link and run my hand through Lily’s sweaty hair.

“Eric is here,” I whisper softly to her.

“E-Eric?” She mumbles, turning her head towards me with a small smile, “where- where is he?”

“He’ll be here as soon as he can, love. Just relax…”

Just as I finish talking, Raya busts through the door.

My eyes widen as I look at her belly. It’s almost the size of Lily’s…

“What’s happening!?” She yells, walking towards Lily as quickly as she can manage.

“We… don’t know. Something isn’t right with her,” I mumble, watching Raya fuss over Lily.

“How can you not know!” She snaps, tears rolling down her face, “we- she finally forgave me… we were close again- about to become mothers together and- and something is wrong with her?”

Raya runs her hand down Lily's face while stumbling over her words.

“I’ll- be fine,” Lily whispers with a sad smile on her face, “Sapphire-.”

“Shhh,” I say, cutting her off, “please, don’t. Just rest… you need to rest.”

She gives me a shaky nod, laying her head back and closing her eyes.

Raya steps away from Lily, slowly sitting down onto a chair not far from the bed.

“She has to be okay…” Raya whispers softly, more to herself than anything.

“She will be,” I say while watching Lily’s chest rise and fall.

I hear two sets of footsteps down the hall and walk towards the door.

Glenda and Eric are making their way here with hurried footsteps.

“Where is she? What’s wrong with her?” Eric blurts out angrily, pushing past me to get into the room.

Glenda gives me a half smile, patting my shoulder quickly before walking towards Lily with a handful of different herbs.

I take a deep breath before turning around and walking to the side of the bed.

I place my hand on Lily’s, trying to reassure her that I’m here.

“Glenda, what are you doing?” I ask, watching her mix different herbs together in a bowl before mixing it into a paste.

“I will place this behind her ears…” she says while placing a tiny bit behind Lily’s ear, “a tiny bit… on her nose. And… the rest onto her chest.”

“Shouldn’t she ingest some?” I say, watching her in confusion.

“No,” she says softly, “if something was to react badly for one of the babies it would end up making Lily react badly to it.”

I raised my eyebrows in surprise, I didn’t think of that.

“What can I do to help?” Eric asks suddenly, looking nervous and scared…

“Nothing,” Glenda sighs, “there’s nothing nobody can do… Only Lily and Sapphire can heal from here. We just have to wait and see what the babies want to do.”

I run my hands through my hair nervously, wanting so desperately to be able to help my mate.

“Just stay with her… I need to gather a few things and call on a friend. Her magic is almost as powerful as mine,” she says, placing a small kiss on Lily’s forehead before leaving.

“I never imagined my little flower would be pregnant so soon,” Eric whispers, “she’s glowing in her pregnancy.”

“We never saw it coming either,” I breathe out, “it- it just happened… four babies, four babies that will be born any day.”

“Four babies,” Eric chuckles, “wow, you’ll have your hands full for sure.”

I chuckle too, nodding my head, “yes, I will. Three girls and one boy,” I say with a small smile.

“Congratulations,” Eric says while slapping my back, “I wish I could’ve been here sooner… I ran into some things I had to deal with.”

“Dont mention it,” I whisper, watching Lily sleep, “you’re here now… that’s all that matters.”

I look towards Raya and see she has tears streaming down her face silently.

I walk towards her slowly, “thank you, for being here,” I say softly, “I know she’d want you here.”

She looks up at me while wiping her tears away, “I wouldn’t be anywhere else…”

‘King Creed!’ I hear the panicked voice of one of my warriors.

‘What?’ I ask impatiently, ‘the queen is ill, I don’t have the time to talk-‘

‘We’re under attack! Rogues are all along the border! We can’t hold them back on our own much longer!’ He screamed down the link, muffled growls and shouts in the background.

“We’re under attack! The war is beginning!” I shout while looking towards Eric.
